00:05And hot is absolutely the key word for today's video because I'm out front of Manchester's most hyped new opening, Dave's Hot Chicken.
00:12Now I've had this before and I can attest to its quality, but as soon as you're here early afternoon, as you can see, the place is completely packed out.
00:18And it feels like a shame considering the sheer quantity of brilliant chicken restaurants here in the city.
00:23Some serving spicy food and some just great quality chicken.
00:25So we're going to do a tiny tour of the surrounding area and talk about some of the most popular spots for chicken in the city that you should be checking out.
00:32Also, because I hate myself, we're going to be finishing this video by trying the hottest chicken wing in Manchester on camera.
00:37So feel free to stick around just to witness me trying to be tough.
00:41Now, let's start listing off some of these places that are definitely worth a visit.
00:45Firstly, Yard & Coop here in the northern quarter is a Manchester staple for a very good reason.
00:49Their secret recipe fried chicken is absolutely fabulous and has been a huge hit ever since they opened.
00:54They have a brilliant range of chicken burgers as well as some awesome veggie options and a great set of cocktails too.
01:00More than that, though, they very clearly understand the city.
01:03Offering brilliant lunch deals to make sure that the people who live and work around here can afford a little treat now and again,
01:08such as offering kids eat free over the summer holidays.
01:11And they also frequent the Christmas markets with brilliant gravy soaked chicken delights and more.
01:15They become a great representation of what the Manchester food team can breed and a great case study for other restaurants looking to kick on in the same way.
01:22If you've not been here before, you absolutely have to get here ASAP.
01:26But for now, on to the next.
01:27Cardinal Rule is one of the best spots in Manchester for a number of reasons.
01:30Firstly, the quality of the fried chicken is mind-blowing, but it's all served on a classic American-style biscuit
01:34with a frankly ridiculous-sounding set of toppings that set you up for one of the most luxurious and ridiculous meals that you can have here in Manchester.
01:41As if that wasn't enough, it can actually be found inside the Northern Monk Refractory right here in Manchester,
01:46meaning that it's also the perfect spot for a great pint of beer.
01:49Now, I've got to warn you, you won't want to eat again for the rest of the day after you've had one of these sandwiches,
01:54but it's well worth it.
01:55Now, there are a few places that we couldn't fit into this video that we're keen to get down to at some point,
01:59so we thought we'd give them a quick shout-out.
02:01First of all, Bird of Prey is absolutely awesome, and you absolutely need to get down there if you've not made it before.
02:06They've got a great range of options.
02:08Bunsick in Piccadilly Gardens is really, really great too,
02:10and Chicken Run over in Mosside is a real gem for Jamaican jerk chicken.
02:14We're going to round the video off, though, with Bonnie Jackson's,
02:17the home of the cheapest chicken wing in Manchester and also the hottest.
02:20Now, these guys have a number of venues across Manchester and are famous for their 25p chicken wings.
02:25On many occasions, they've saved me from spending too much on lunches,
02:29and the quality is actually really, really good.
02:31Now, they also have the hottest wing in the city with the hotter-than-the-sun wing, as you can see there,
02:35so I'm going to eat this before the outro.
02:38Jesus, it's so big.
