00:31In Southern Mediterranean Europe, arrivals increased 2%,

00:39Central and Eastern Europe also experienced an 8% increase in visitor numbers compared to 2024,
00:46particularly in Baltic destinations.
00:48However, overall visitor numbers to this region remain below the levels seen in 2019.
00:54Lithuania, Malta, Latvia, Finland and Spain reported the highest increases in arrivals
00:59among European destinations in the first three months of the year.
01:03Despite these positive trends, high travel costs and recent tariff increases
01:07present challenges that could affect international tourism in 2025.
01:12But Spain, which is the world's second largest tourism earner,
01:15reported 9% growth in visitor spending between January and February,
01:21compared to the same two months in 2024.
01:24Greece, Italy and Portugal also recorded a 4% increase in tourism receipts.
