00:34The stylist who was giving the accused killer teacher a haircut speaks out.
00:39I put my hands on that monster. I cut his hair.
00:43And four teaching jobs in four years.
00:46How was he able to go from job to job despite allegations of inappropriate conduct with his young students?
00:52Then, summer of the tick.
00:55After Justin Timberlake's Lyme disease revelation,
00:58the huge surge in tick bites this summer.
01:01What you can do to stay tick-free.
01:04And Trump ballroom controversy.
01:07A $200 million plan to build a 90,000 square foot ballroom.
01:13Plus, get us out of here.
01:15Passengers trapped after the epic downpour.
01:18Plus, he crawled for 11 hours with broken bones.
01:21And look who showed him the way.
01:24His loyal dog, Buddy.
01:25Using that little light on his collar.
01:27And they're hot.
01:29They're lovely.
01:31They're not real.
01:32No one wants to see this.
01:33I am concerned.
01:34AI-generated models.
01:36Are they threatening to kill the modeling industry?
01:38To see that we could just be replaced so easily is a little scary.
01:42Now, Inside Edition.
01:45Hello.
01:46Thanks for joining us.
01:47I'm Mary Calvey.
01:48It's the arrest shocking America.
01:50The third grade school teacher accused in the slaying of a husband and wife while out hiking with their two young daughters.
01:56The suspect was arrested while he was getting a haircut.
01:59And now that hairstylist is talking.
02:01And she says it was like touching a monster.
02:03Amber Cagliano has the latest, including the suspect's first court appearance.
02:08She was giving the accused killer a haircut when cops stormed in to arrest him.
02:14I didn't sleep last night knowing that I put my hands on that monster that I cut his hair.
02:21Cops hauled 28-year-old Andrew McGann out of the chair.
02:24Then, as stylist Adriana Avalos fled from the salon.
02:28They handcuffed him and stripped off the barber's smock.
02:31McGann is charged with stabbing to death 43-year-old Clinton Brink and his wife Kristen on a popular hiking trail in Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas.
02:42Their daughters, aged 7 and 9, escaped.
02:45Stylist Adriana Avalos said she was suspicious of McGann the moment he parked his car outside the salon in Springdale, Arkansas, about 30 miles from the state park.
02:55He looked pretty scary.
02:58He didn't look like he was okay.
03:00His eyes just looked sunken.
03:02She says he gave her detailed instructions how he wanted his hair to hang over his face to cover scratches.
03:09You can see the scratches in this mugshot.
03:12McGann appeared in court today facing capital murder charges and was ordered held without bond.
03:17You are Andrew James McGann.
03:19That's McGann in a staff photo at an elementary school outside Dallas.
03:24He resigned as a teacher there in 2023 over what the school district called poor professional judgment and displays of favoritism.
03:33Lindsay Paliuk's son was in his class.
03:36Multiple other parents made allegations that he was having inappropriate contact with their daughters.
03:43Instead of being fired, McGann was allowed to resign and move on to other schools in Oklahoma and Arkansas, a process known as passing the trash.
03:52Despite his dubious history, he somehow was able to get rehired again and again for teaching jobs in four years.
03:59He leaves, goes to another school where they may not know anything about his previous history.
04:05And the cycle begins again until the next child is hurt.
04:08This photo has just been unearthed.
04:11It's from his Hinge dating app profile.
04:14In retrospect, his words are chilling.
04:17He says he likes ripping through my favorite playlist.
04:20Now he's facing a possible death penalty.
04:23So how did police track down Andrew McGann?
04:27They say a witness saw him driving out of the state park where he allegedly committed the murders and he had blood on his face.
04:34The witness was able to give a good description of the car, which cops later found parked outside that barbershop.
04:41The revelation that singer Justin Timberlake has been stricken with Lyme disease is throwing the spotlight on the debilitating ailment that affects millions.
04:49Doctors say they are seeing a surge in tick bites with more people than ever coming into the summer, even calling this the summer of the tick.
04:57Jim Murray reports.
05:00It's being called the summer of the tick, and this exterminator is proof.
05:04He says he's never been busier.
05:06This has been by far the craziest season that we have seen for the ticks.
05:11Giancarlo D'Andrea is treating a yard on Long Island that's swarming with ticks.
05:15If you're seeing a lot of animal populations in your backyard, you have a high amount of vegetation, these are some very, very good telltale signs that you do have ticks present in your yard.
05:25Experts say this unusually hot summer, plus climate change, are leading to an uptick in ticks.
05:30Doctors say the increase in ticks has led to more and more trips to hospital emergency rooms for bites, which are at their highest levels since 2017.
05:40Ticks are particularly nasty because they can transmit illnesses like Lyme disease.
05:45Justin Timberlake's revelation that he has Lyme disease is a big shock, but maybe not too surprising for fans who came away disappointed at his lackadaisical performances at his recently concluded concert tour.
05:59I feel like Justin Timberlake's been a bit off.
06:04You got us singing your songs.
06:06In a heartfelt statement, the singer says, living with this can be relentlessly debilitating, both mentally and physically.
06:15I would be on stage and in a massive amount of nerve pain or just feeling crazy fatigue or sickness.
06:21Dr. Daniel Cameron treats Lyme disease patients in Westchester County, New York.
06:25His advice, check for ticks after an excursion in the woods, lawn or grassy areas.
06:30And what should you do if you are bitten?
06:33You should remove the tick.
06:35Tweezers is the best.
06:36If anything happens after a tick bite, get to the doctor.
06:42Doctors say ticks don't just carry Lyme disease.
06:45A bite from the Lone Star tick can actually cause an allergic reaction to red meat.
06:50A big mic over is coming to the White House.
06:53The Trump administration says it plans to build a massive $200 million ballroom to be financed by President Trump personally with contributions from donors.
07:02And if the design seems familiar, it should because it looks just like the ballroom at Mar-a-Lago.
07:08Big changes are coming to the White House and not everyone is digging it.
07:13President Trump is building a massive ballroom attached to the East Wing.
07:16It will be beautiful.
07:18It'll be views of the Washington Monument.
07:21It won't interfere with the current building.
07:23It won't be near it, but not touching it.
07:27In renderings released by the White House, the ballroom has grand columns and lots of windows.
07:32Inside, it's a large open space, big enough to seat 650 guests.
07:37And no Trump-inspired space would be complete without gold accents.
07:42In fact, it looks a lot like the ballroom at Mar-a-Lago.
07:45It'll be a great legacy project, and I think it'll be special.
07:48The Trump ballroom is getting a mixed reception.
07:51Hideous, says the Bulwark website.
07:53But others say it's long overdue.
07:55Because right now, big events like state dinners are held inside an unsightly tent on the South Lawn.
08:01No one will do it better than President Trump.
08:04And what a great gift he's leaving for future presidents, a beautiful place to host.
08:09Construction of the ballroom will begin in September and is expected to take two years.
08:13And the president says he and private donors will cover the $200 million tab.
08:18Meanwhile, there were a few awkward moments when the president gathered some of the nation's top sports stars to the White House.
08:25I had some guy, by the way, I didn't, that's usually not my thing, but he is a good-looking sucker.
08:30The president gushed over NFL kicker Harrison Butker and wrestler Triple H.
08:35Still very strong.
08:37He's a strong guy.
08:38NFL legend Lawrence Taylor didn't seem to know why he was invited.
08:43I don't know why.
08:44I don't know what we're supposed to be doing, but I'm here to serve.
08:49Well, LT, you and the other athletes were there to promote the presidential fitness test that school kids took for decades.
08:56And now, it's back.
08:58This was a wonderful tradition and we're bringing it back.
09:01The presidential physical fitness test was started during the Eisenhower administration in 1956,
09:07but was discontinued by President Obama in 2013, replaced by the Let's Move campaign.
09:13For the second time in two weeks, the nation's largest transportation system was paralyzed by floods following torrential downpours.
09:20And this time, weary passengers walked in plastic bags and climbed over gates to avoid getting soaked.
09:26Deep water at this subway station left this passenger walking around in plastic bags and this guy clamoring on the iron gates to stay dry.
09:36Passengers on this train find themselves trapped as water gushes from under the subway platform.
09:42It's not just underground.
09:43On the street, these riders are also trying to stay dry as water rushed into their bus.
09:49And check out this whirlpool in Brooklyn.
09:51This month's issue of Vogue magazine is drawing a lot of attention, not for its cover of actress Anne Hathaway, but for an ad for guest jeans.
10:02And as you can see, the models are gorgeous.
10:04They're not real.
10:05And as Stephen Fabian reports, that has real flesh and blood models in an uproar.
10:11Guest ads are known for their va-va-voom sexiness.
10:15But these gorgeous models aren't real.
10:17They're AI-generated, and that's caused a firestorm of controversy, especially since they appear in the Bible of fashion, Vogue magazine.
10:26It is extremely worrying that the biggest fashion magazine in the world is using AI models.
10:34No one wants to see this.
10:35This doesn't make me want to buy anything.
10:38Guest isn't alone.
10:39Retailer H&M is also using AI models.
10:42So has the popular store, Mango.
10:44Truly, I am terrified.
10:45Model Caroline Karwoski says she sees the future, and it's not looking good to her.
10:50What do you think about all this?
10:52I know the hard work and effort that I've put in to get to this place, and I know what other models do, too.
10:57And to see that we could just be replaced so easily is a little scary.
11:01She says real models add something special that no computer can recreate.
11:05That model has a backstory, and she has a family, and she has a whole life, and she has something that I might resonate with, and that's what makes me want to buy a product.
11:13Guess Jeans has a long history of turning unknown models into superstars in their legendary ad campaigns.
11:19Remember Anna Nicole Smith and Claudia Schiffer?
11:22Guess has always had an eye for the next it girl, and we still love working with real models, says the co-founder of Guess.
11:29Brianna Lombardo is the owner of Long Island Models.
11:32AI is here.
11:32We have to accept it, but I don't think it's going to completely take away real people as models.
11:38This is the first time an AI model has appeared in Vogue.
11:42The magazine says it has never used AI models in its splashy fashion layouts.
11:48Actress Lindsay Lohan's big comeback, a sequel to her huge hit from more than 20 years ago, Freaky Friday,
11:53and at the London premiere of the movie, she wore a beautiful gown that brought back warm memories.
11:59Looking good, Lindsay.
12:00A gorgeous Lindsay Lohan took to the red carpet for the U.K. premiere of Freakier Friday,
12:06with a 39-year-old stunned in this breathtaking lilac dress.
12:10If Lindsay's gorgeous gown looks familiar, you may remember it from this famous scene from 2003's Freaky Friday.
12:17And notice the cute little guitar purse Lindsay's carrying?
12:23It's a dead ringer for the real guitar Lindsay rocks out on in the 2003 film.
12:29The dainty handbag is made of crystals and costs $5,000.
12:35Freakier Friday opens next week.
12:37The NFL preseason kicked off last night with the All-Star Game showcasing the league's top players,
12:43but before they took the field, a special tribute was paid to the four victims
12:48who were killed at the Midtown Manhattan skyscraper shooting, where the NFL has its national headquarters.
12:55Earlier this week, the world witnessed an unimaginable act of violence
13:00at the New York City home of the NFL and neighboring businesses.
13:05We salute the heroism and bravery of law enforcement and security officers
13:11who responded to assist all those in the building.
13:16At this time, please stand and join us in a moment of silent reflection
13:22to honor the four innocent lives tragically lost.
13:27And stand they did.
13:29Thousands of fans, coaches and players in Canton, Ohio.
13:33It should have been a joyous start to the football preseason,
13:36but was instead a solemn remembrance of four lives cut short.
13:41Lost senselessly way too soon.
13:46The 106th season of the NFL kicks off September 4th.
13:50We'll be back after this.
13:52Next, he crawled for 11 hours with broken bones.
13:56And look who showed him the way.
13:58His loyal dog, Buddy.
14:00Using that little light on his collar.
14:02Then...
14:02I'm Gwyneth Paltrow.
14:03What's actress Gwyneth Paltrow really like?
14:06Why so many people find her polarizing.
14:10Inside Edition will be right back.

16:51The dating app that trashes men.
16:54It's supposed to red flag creepy dudes.
16:56But is it fair?
16:57Is this really true or is this somebody trying to get revenge?
17:00Next, Inside Edition.
17:01This man is lucky to be alive today after he broke his leg, ankles, and rib and had to crawl 11 miles to get help.
17:14And he says he wouldn't have made it if not for his best friend who was with him, his dog named Buddy.
17:19It's Buddy the dog to the rescue.
17:23When I tried to lift my leg up, I couldn't see my foot beyond my leg because it was dangling and it was so badly broken.
17:30Oh.
17:30Jacob Schmidt suffered a broken leg, fractured ankles, and broken ribs when he was ejected down a cliff in Utah's Uintah Mountains after losing control of his truck.
17:41It was nightfall.
17:43Crippled by his injuries, the 34-year-old man panicked that he would not be found.
17:48Then came help from his most trusted companion, Buddy, who had been traveling in a crate inside his truck.
17:55Somehow, miraculously, he got out without a scratch. I mean, literally not a scratch.
18:00Jacob says for the next 11 hours, yes, 11 hours, his beloved German short-haired pointer helped him crawl down the cliff.
18:10Buddy led the way, his light on his dog collar providing the path.
18:15It's late on it, if you can see here, and it turns on a little tiny quarter-sized LED.
18:21The light is similar to this one.
18:23He would sit down with his light, and I could see a point, you know, that I could crawl to, and I would get all the way to him.
18:30And then he would just keep going, and he would sit down again.
18:32Buddy also helped with his excruciating pain.
18:35He kicked in, you know, this kind of mode where he won't leave my side.
18:38I would half pass out, half fall asleep sometimes, and he would lay right next to me and sit almost on me and kind of nudge me.
18:46After 11 long hours, the pair finally made it to a restaurant.
18:50Waitress Yenny sighs.
18:52He was like, can you call 911?
18:55Can you call 911?
18:56And right away, like, my heart dropped, and I was like, hey, like, he obviously is in pain.
19:02I see scratches on his face.
19:05Jacob was rushed to the hospital, and the fire department took care of Buddy.
19:10Do you credit him with saving your life?
19:12Oh, God, yeah.
19:12It's pretty obvious that he was just, like, guiding me out of there.
19:15It's just remarkable.
19:17Jacob says he had a cell phone and a satellite phone with him, but they scattered in the accident.
19:23He wasn't able to call for help.
19:27Still to come.
19:28I'm Gwyneth Paltrow.
19:30What's actress Gwyneth Paltrow really like?
19:32Why so many people find her polarizing.
19:35The darkness of bipolar depression made me feel like life was moving on without me.
19:48Then I found a chance to let in the light.
19:51Discover Capilita.
19:53Unlike some medicines that only treat bipolar 1, Capilita is proven to deliver significant symptom relief from both bipolar 1 and 2 depression.
20:02And in clinical trials, movement disorders and weight gain were not common.
20:06Elderly dementia patients have increased risk of death or stroke.
20:09Capilita is not approved for dementia-related psychosis.
20:11Call your doctor about new or sudden mood changes, behaviors, or suicidal thoughts right away.
20:16Antidepressants may increase these risks.
20:18Report fever, confusion, stiff muscles, which may be life-threatening, or uncontrolled muscle movements, which may be permanent.
20:24High cholesterol and weight gain may occur, as can high blood sugar, which may be fatal.
20:27Common side effects are sleepiness, dizziness, nausea, and dry mouth.
20:31These aren't all the side effects.
20:32Ask your doctor how Capilita can help you let in the light.
20:36Find savings at Capilita.com.
20:38Mmm, Capilita.
20:42After you've been in a serious accident,
20:44you're going to have a lot of questions about what the insurance company is doing.
20:49These are some we hear all the time.
20:51Why are they trying to get a statement when I'm still in the hospital?
20:54Why are they inspecting my car without my permission?
20:57Why are they asking me to fill out all these forms?
21:00Why are they calling me all day?
21:02Why do I feel like I'm being pressured to take their offer?

21:10I thought people exaggerated when they said shingles is a nightmare
21:16and the pain can last for weeks.
21:19It wouldn't mean sleepless nights, right?
21:21I didn't think I was at risk.
21:25I was wrong.
21:26I didn't know that 99% of people over 50 already have the virus that causes shingles
21:32and it could reactivate at any time.
21:35I learned that the hard way.

22:25Take the pressure off with RIDEX.
22:27It's a new book about Gwyneth Paltrow that goes a long way in explaining why the actress is such a lightning rod of attention,
22:40both positive and negative.
22:42Amber Cogliano spoke to the author.
22:46Gwyneth Paltrow famously had a hot and heavy romance with Brad Pitt,
22:50but she apparently thought the actor was beneath her.
22:54She had a different upbringing than Brad Pitt did,
22:58and she felt like she was more sophisticated and smarter than him.
23:02And when she was filming Emma, the 1996 movie, she actually had a crush on Hugh Grant.
23:07She thought someone like that might be better suited to her pedigree.
23:10That's one of the surprising revelations made in Gwyneth, the biography by Amy O'Dell.
23:15Another tidbit, Gwyneth and JFK Jr.'s wife, Carolyn Bissette Kennedy,
23:22who were it girls of the late 1990s, never hit it off.
23:26Carolyn called her Little Miss Perfect.
23:29One of Gwyneth's earliest designer relationships was with Calvin Klein.
23:32Carolyn Bissette was in VIP relations at Calvin Klein,
23:35so when Gwyneth would go to the showroom to pick things out, they would encounter each other.
23:39And so her so close to Carolyn told me that she was, for some reason, irked by Gwyneth,
23:44just kind of annoyed by her.
23:45What do you think was behind all of it?
23:47Gwyneth has always been polarizing.
23:48She's a really polarizing figure.
23:49Carolyn Bissette Kennedy just didn't really like her.
23:52What was the most shocking thing that you uncovered about Gwyneth Paltrow?
23:55The most surprising thing to me in interviewing more than 220 people
23:58is that she can be cold, she can be icy, she can be aloof.
24:01People compared her in that way to Anna Wintour, which I found very surprising.
24:06But she can also be incredibly charismatic.
24:09One other tidbit in the book, Gwyneth says she regrets not finishing college.
24:13Up next, that sandwich looks delicious.
24:17Americans are over extreme out-of-touch agendas.
