00:25Late Show Shocker.
00:26Next year will be our last season.
00:30Stunned reaction and tears after Stephen Colbert announces the end of the Late Show.
00:37She was in the audience.
00:39It was super shocking.
00:41And Colbert right after the show.
00:43Stephen, anything you'd like to say to your fans?
00:46Then, kiss cam fallout.
00:49Whose head will roll? The CEO, the HR chief, or both?
00:53She posted the video, seen by more than 53 million people.
00:58It was the reaction that kind of sealed the deal. He looked pretty guilty.
01:02And happy birthday doodle uproar.
01:05Did President Trump send a bawdy birthday greeting card to Jeffrey Epstein?
01:10And does he have a history of doodles?
01:12Plus, hammer attack.
01:15Defending their home from a deranged man.
01:18Come on!
01:19Then, what was he thinking?
01:23The dad who tossed his son off a cliff.
01:27Plus, dancing with sharks.
01:30Sharks can dance?
01:32Who knew?
01:32They're even getting judged for their dance moves.
01:35You are a hot dance machine.
01:38Now, Inside Edition.
01:42Hello, thanks for joining us.
01:43The cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is being met with complete shock by many TV viewers.
01:49And no one was more surprised than the fans in the audience, who were the first to hear the news straight from Colbert.
01:55This audience member says she was so upset she was in tears.
01:57She spoke with Amber Cogliano.
01:59There's big reaction after Stephen Colbert's shocking announcement last night.
02:05Next year will be our last season.
02:08The network will be ending The Late Show in May.
02:12And...
02:12A chorus of boos rang out from the audience.
02:18Yeah, I share your feelings.
02:20It's not just the end of our show, but it's the end of The Late Show on CBS.
02:25I'm not being replaced.
02:26This is all just going away.
02:28It was super shocking.
02:2929-year-old Claire DeSantis gave us a behind-the-scenes account of what happened.
02:34The entire show just went according to plan until the very end when they said that they were going to do an alternate cold open.
02:40Oh, hey, everybody.
02:41I thought maybe it was going to be like a fun surprise or a celebrity guest, and then they made the announcement.
02:46Next year will be our last season.
02:48I saw his wife to the side of the stage, and she was crying.
02:51The Late Show was filmed here at the legendary Ed Sullivan Theater,
02:55the scene of some of the most iconic moments in TV history, going back to the golden age of television.
03:01The Late Show debuted in 1993.
03:05The first host was David Letterman.
03:08Thank you very much.
03:09Welcome to the show.
03:11My name is Dave.
03:12Letterman hosted the show for 22 years.
03:16Okay, here we go.
03:17Handing it over to Colbert in 2015.
03:21Colbert is the number one show in late night, but the big three late night shows on broadcast TV have seen a 50% decline in advertising revenue since 2018.
03:33They're expensive shows to produce, and they're dealing with the same audience fragmentation that affects this entire industry.
03:39I do want to say that the folks at CBS have been great partners.
03:44I'm so grateful to the Tiffany Network for giving me this chair and this beautiful theater to call home.
03:50Today, Colbert is getting support from his fellow late night hosts.
03:54Love you, Stephen, says Jimmy Kimmel.
03:56And this from The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon.
03:58I'm just as shocked as everyone.
04:00I really thought I'd ride this out with him for years to come.
04:03But President Trump, often the target of Colbert's biting political commentary, is celebrating,
04:10I absolutely love that Colbert got fired.
04:12His talent was even less than his ratings.
04:15The show's cancellation comes on the heels of the $16 million settlement with President Trump from Paramount Global, the parent company of CBS.
04:24Democratic Senator Adam Schiff happened to be a guest on Colbert last night.
04:28He had this to say,
04:29Paramount says in a statement this is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night.
04:42It is not related in any way to the show's performance, content, or other matters happening at Paramount.
04:48This is an absolutely tectonic and shocking announcement that has roiled the entire history.
04:57Despite being the most popular broadcast show on late night TV,
05:02the L.A. Times says the late show with Stephen Colbert was not making a profit.
05:07There's more reaction to the story everyone's talking about.
05:10The CEO caught on Kiss Cam at a Coldplay concert, snuggling with his head of human resources.
05:16Today, there are serious questions whether they will be forced to leave their jobs.
05:21Allison Hall has the latest.
05:23Either they're having an affair or they're just very shocked.
05:26The woman who shot that now infamous Coldplay Kiss Cam that caught two executives apparently cheating is speaking out to Inside Edition.
05:3528-year-old Grace Springer was at the concert at the Gillette Stadium in Boston
05:39and captured the moment that has now been viewed 53 million times.
05:45I could have never guessed that it would be such high-profile individuals in the video.
05:52I do feel sorry for their partners and spouses that they had to find out this way.
05:56Do you think if they had not tried to hide, Coldplay would have moved on?
06:01A hundred percent.
06:02I think if they acted natural, no one would have thought twice.
06:06What a cute couple.
06:07I mean, I'm sure people in their inner circle might have caught something,
06:12but I definitely wouldn't have posted that video if the reaction wasn't the way that it was.
06:17We're going to continue to expand globally.
06:19Andy Byron, CEO of a billion-dollar AI company, and Kristen Cabot, his head of human resources,
06:26were seen shrinking in panic at the concert.
06:29He's married with teenage children.
06:31Kristen Cabot has been divorced for three years.
06:34She was hired just eight months ago, and now that 15 seconds of video
06:40is having a devastating impact on both of their lives.
06:44The New York Post front-page headline, Dumbotron.
06:47I spoke with workplace expert Stephen Viscusi.
06:50This requires to me not one, but two resignations.
06:54Fortune magazine is predicting severe consequences for the company's culture, reputation, and financial stability.
07:01Oh, look at these two.
07:03Parodies and memes are flooding social media.
07:06Oh, look at these two.
07:07All right, come on, you're okay?
07:09Byron's wife isn't laughing.
07:11She's scrubbed her social media.
07:13I think cheating is an abomination, okay?
07:16And this man has a wife, he has children.
07:18These kids are going to have to watch and see this.
07:20They don't look...
07:20I would be devastated if I was his wife.
07:22You do have to think about the children and the spouses.
07:25We're all laughing about it, but they're all families and stuff.
07:28We are a lot of families.
07:29Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
07:3366,000 fans were in the audience.
07:36Just imagine the odds of that kiss cam picking out those two executives.
07:40It's a scandal that will not go away.
07:42And now President Trump is lashing out at the Wall Street Journal
07:45for claiming that he once sent a 50th birthday card to financier Jeffrey Epstein
07:50that contained a bawdy doodle.
07:52Jim Murray reports.
07:53The president is lashing out at the Wall Street Journal today
07:57threatening to sue them over a new report that claims
08:00he once wrote a bawdy birthday greeting to Jeffrey Epstein.
08:04According to the report, back in 2003,
08:06three years before Epstein got into legal trouble
08:09and was exposed as a pedophile,
08:11Trump was asked by Epstein's girlfriend
08:13to write a letter to the financier for his 50th birthday.
08:16The letter was put into an album with dozens of other birthday greetings
08:20and then presented to Epstein.
08:22The journal describes the letter as several lines of typewritten text
08:26framed by the hand-drawn outline of a naked woman.
08:29The future president's signature is a squiggly Donald below her waist.
08:34Trump allegedly signed off with the words,
08:36a pal is a wonderful thing, happy birthday,
08:39and may every day be another wonderful secret.
08:42The president wasted no time firing back,
08:44blasting the Wall Street Journal's owner, Rupert Murdoch,
08:47a major Trump supporter.
08:48These are not my words, not the way I talk.
08:52I don't draw pictures, Trump vented on social media.
08:55I told Rupert Murdoch it was a scam,
08:57and now I'm going to sue his ass off.
08:59He's never drawn such a picture.
09:01He's never thought of drawing such a picture.
09:03They're literally making things up.
09:05News Nation's Chris Cuomo was also critical of the report.
09:08This Wall Street Journal piece is a hat job, okay?
09:12And Elon Musk says, yeah, the letter sounds bogus.
09:16But others pointed out that Trump has a history of doodling,
09:19contradicting his claim that he never draws pictures.
09:22Here's a sketch he made of the Brooklyn Bridge
09:24and another of the Empire State Building.
09:27Meanwhile, the White House says the president
09:29will not be changing his lifestyle
09:30following the revelation that he has chronic venous insufficiency,
09:34causing his ankles to swell up.
09:36I am surprised that he would not make any changes
09:39because chronic venous insufficiency is easily treatable.
09:44Dr. Karina Wu, a physical therapist in Manhattan,
09:47says simply wearing compression socks
09:49can relieve the leg swelling that the president is experiencing.
09:52It adds graduated compression.
09:55It's tighter at the ankle, looser up to the top,
09:57so it's going to force fluid to come up back towards the heart.
10:01That helps with that pooling that occurs
10:03with chronic venous insufficiency.
10:05Doctors say there's no cure for chronic venous insufficiency,
10:09but there are those therapies, including compression socks,
10:11that can help relieve symptoms.
10:14It was 8.45 at night,
10:16and a mom of three was home relaxing, watching TV.
10:19Her husband was preparing to go to bed.
10:21Suddenly, they heard a terrifying sound at the front door.
10:24A maniac was trying to break in with a hammer.
10:28It's scary home surveillance video
10:30of a hammer-wielding madman
10:32trying to smash his way into a stranger's house.
10:35Belinda Valdiva was home with her family
10:39when she heard the front door's glass shattering.
10:42I immediately got up and ran to my husband.
10:46Her husband raced out with a knife and a golf club
10:48that just happened to be by the door.
10:51He got the golf club, opened the door,
10:54and was just saying words to scare him away.
10:56The suspect was identified as a homeless man named Christopher McDowell,
11:00and Belinda says it was not the first time
11:02he targeted her house in Aldean, Texas.
11:05In the beginning of the month,
11:07he came to my door at 7.30 in the morning,
11:11knocking aggressively.
11:12What did he say to you?
11:13He had said,
11:14open up this door,
11:15I'm going to get in there and kill you.
11:18B-word.
11:18He was arrested,
11:19and despite a lengthy rap sheet,
11:21was released the same day,
11:23apparently to strike again two weeks later.
11:26The panic of having to think of
11:29the worst thing possible could have happened,
11:32especially if my husband hasn't been here,
11:33and I have three little girls.
11:36Belinda says her three kids
11:37hid in the closet during the ordeal.
11:40The suspect has been charged with aggravated assault
11:42with a deadly weapon.
11:43The judge denied him bail.
11:45A dad may have had good intentions,
11:48but when you see this video,
11:50you may be asking,
11:52what in the world was he thinking?
11:54Did this dad put his son in danger?
11:57He's on top of a cliff with his seven-year-old boy.
12:00Then, out of nowhere,
12:01he throws the kid from the cliff into the water.
12:05Why would you do such a thing?
12:07It happened at Lake Powell in Utah,
12:10an area popular for its stunning rock formations.
12:1238-year-old Garrett Gee says
12:14his son wanted to jump but was hesitant,
12:17so to help him get over his fear,
12:19he just threw Callahan off the cliff.
12:22Dad jumped in seconds later
12:23to make sure he was okay.
12:25It was roughly a 14-foot drop.
12:27Well, Callahan did conquer his fear,
12:29apparently,
12:30because he later confidently
12:32jumped off with his sister.
12:34The video is getting mixed reaction.
12:36Horrible.
12:36This is child abusing.
12:38Irresponsible.
12:39Terrible parenting.
12:40Gee has this to say in defense.
12:42The biggest danger would be if he hesitated,
12:45didn't jump far out,
12:46and fell down the cliffside.
12:48So, to be extra safe,
12:49because he wanted to jump,
12:51but was not feeling confident,
12:52I threw him.
12:53This is not parental advice.
12:55This is not something I advise you to try.
12:58And it's the high-profile murder mystery in Maine.
13:04Who killed a paddleboarder named Sonny
13:06in a quiet town that has never seen
13:08such a violent crime?
13:09Now, police have a suspect,
13:10and he's just 17 years old.
13:13An arrest has been made
13:14in the murder of the paddleboarder,
13:16whose body was discovered
13:18on a deserted island in the state of Maine.
13:21After a two-week manhunt,
13:22state police say they have apprehended
13:25a 17-year-old male
13:26in connection with the murder
13:28of Sunshine Stewart,
13:30known as Sonny to her friends
13:31for her sparkling personality.
13:33The teen suspect was identified as Devin Young.
13:36According to his Facebook page,
13:38he was staying at the same campground
13:40as Sunshine Stewart.
13:41He reportedly vacations in the area
13:43every summer with his family.
13:46Devin Young's social media posts
13:47show him holding a shotgun.
13:49And could this image of a mallet
13:51be the murder weapon?
13:53Police say Sonny Stewart died
13:55from blunt force trauma and strangulation.
13:58Her body was discovered on a deserted island
14:00on this small nature preserve
14:02called 100 Acre Island.
14:04The arrest of the teen is sending shockwaves
14:06through the small town of Union,
14:08where the murder happened.
14:10It's frightening, just frightening,
14:11and I'm delighted that there's been an arrest.
14:14I'm very happy they found some.
14:15Stewart was last seen at the Micmac campground
14:18on Crawford Road, where she had rented a camper
14:20apparently not far from where Young
14:22was also vacationing.
14:24She was last seen alive on July 2nd
14:26when she went paddleboarding.
14:28This video was taken earlier this summer
14:30when she taught a friend's daughter
14:31how to paddleboard.
14:34We spoke with two of Sunshine's
14:36heartbroken friends,
14:38Kat Bratton and Alan McPhee.
14:40It's hard to take it in.
14:41I can't even believe it some days.
14:42I keep waiting for her to call.
14:44It's kind of unfathomable.
14:46Sam Morris is a lifelong friend.
14:49I hope that he suffers behind bars
14:52and asks for forgiveness.
14:54The teen appeared in court today
14:56and denied the charge.
14:57Authorities say they expect to try him as an adult.
15:01Next, dancing with sharks.
15:04Sharks can dance?
15:06Who knew?
15:07They're even getting judged for their dance moves.

15:39I didn't think the pain could make me miss work for days.
15:43I was wrong.

18:10It's one of TV's most popular programming events.
18:12But dancing with sharks?
18:14That's a new one.
18:15Here's Jim Ray.
18:17You've never seen a Shark Week like this.
18:20The popular TV event on Discovery
18:22comes with a new twist this year.
18:24Dancing with sharks.
18:26And it's exactly what it sounds like.
18:28Yep, the fearsome sea creatures
18:30apparently can dance
18:31given the right set of circumstances
18:33and a willing partner.
18:38And who better to host Dancing with Sharks
18:41than this guy?
18:42I'm Tom Bergeron
18:43and this is Shark Week's
18:44Dancing with Sharks.
18:47It's Tom Bergeron,
18:49the former host of Dancing with the Stars.
18:51Welcome.
18:52I'm Tom Bergeron.
18:53In the new show...
18:55Contestants need rhythm,
18:56shark handling abilities,
18:58and excellent survival skills
19:00because, you know...
19:01Sharks.
19:02Just like the land-based version,
19:04judges rate the performers.
19:06You are a hot dance machine.
19:08I'm not going to take points away
19:09because you were dancing with sharks!
19:11One wrong move
19:12and you could be one pinky short.
19:15I spoke to Kinga Phillips,
19:16one of the Dancing with Sharks judges.
19:18I knew that these shark handlers
19:20were experts at what they do.
19:22But then to elevate the game
19:24and actually be able to dance
19:25while interacting with these sharks,
19:27that is incredible.
19:29Shark Week also features
19:31these three best friends
19:32who went parasailing in Florida
19:34and realized they were
19:35over shark-infested water.
19:37They're dark!
19:38Don't dip us!
19:39Shark!
19:41They absolutely lose it
19:43when their feet hit the water.
19:45Get back up!
19:46Get back up!
19:47Get back up!
19:48Sharks all right here!
19:50Fortunately,
19:51they all made it safely
19:52out of the water.
19:54Shark Week starts Sunday night
19:56on Discovery
19:57and continues all next week.
20:00Still to come...
20:02The Whip from Indiana Jones.
20:06The famous sled from Citizen Kane.
20:10Wait till you see
20:11how much they sold for at auction.
20:13Despite being on an antidepressant,
20:21I was still masking
20:22my depression symptoms.
20:23My doctor said it could be
20:24because my antidepressant alone
20:26wasn't enough.
20:27So she recommended
20:28an add-on treatment.
20:30She recommended adding Rexalty.
20:32When taken with an antidepressant,
20:33Rexalty was proven
20:34to significantly reduce
20:35depression symptoms
20:36more than an antidepressant alone.
20:38So with my antidepressant,
20:39Rexalty could provide a boost.
20:41Elderly people with
20:42dementia-related psychosis
20:44have increased risk
20:45of death or stroke.
20:46Antidepressants may increase
20:47suicidal thoughts and actions
20:48and worsen depression
20:49in children and young adults.
20:50Call your healthcare provider
20:51right away to report
20:52new or sudden changes
20:53in mood, behavior,
20:55thoughts, or feelings,
20:56or if you develop
20:56suicidal thoughts or actions.
20:58Report fever,
20:59stiff muscles,
20:59and confusion,

23:23The whip has added value because Princess Diana once owned it, a gift from Harrison Ford.
23:31Rosebud.
23:32And it's the most famous sled in film history,
23:35from what many say is the greatest movie ever made, Citizen Kane.
23:39The sled, known as Rosebud, was also up for auction.
23:432-7, now they're going to 2-8.
23:44Listen as the auctioneer asks for bids.
23:46The price keeps getting higher and higher.
23:49Now 11-8 to you.
23:50The final bid, a whopping $14.75 million.
23:55The sled, which was made of balsa wood, was picked because of how quickly it burns on camera.
24:00Three sleds were made for the movie, and this is the only one that still exists.
