00:48The mom accused of leaving her kids in a sweltering car
00:53because she was inside a spa getting her lips done.
00:56What her mother-in-law is saying today.
00:59Then, the brave teen coming forward to claim what this teacher did to him.
01:05I was a child.
01:06I wasn't a man.
01:07I was a boy.
01:08State your name for me, ma'am.
01:09Will her fiancé stick by her?
01:12And the granny.
01:13The shocking call she says she got from a 911 police dispatcher.
01:18Congratulations, you've won the prize.
01:20It's called the booby prize.
01:21You are the dumbest person to call this police department.
01:24Plus, Trump versus Rosie O'Donnell.
01:27Can the president really revoke her U.S. citizenship?
01:31She left our country, which is a good thing.
01:34Who knows what he can and can't do?
01:36Then, watch parties across America.
01:39It's just like the Super Bowl.
01:41But wait till you see what they're watching.
01:43And standing ovation for Princess Kate.
01:48Now, Inside Edition.
01:51Hello, thanks for joining us.
01:53I'm Mary Calvey.
01:54We begin with the mother in court charged with leaving her one-year-old son in a hot car for two hours, leading to his death.
02:01The story is even more upsetting when you hear where the mom was for all that time.
02:07She was inside a spa getting lip fillers while the car heated up to a sweltering 143 degrees.
02:14Now even her own mother-in-law is denouncing her.
02:17Jim Murray has our report.
02:19Dressed in a prison jumpsuit, this mom is accused of the unthinkable.
02:23Cops say she left her two kids in a hot car for two hours while she was getting lip injections.
02:30Her youngest son died in the blistering heat.
02:32Authorities say the young mom had her two babies, ages 1 and 2, strapped in their car seats in this parking lot while she was inside for up to two hours having a cosmetic procedure.
02:43It was one of the hottest days of the year.
02:46It reached 102 degrees.
02:48Maya Hernandez looked emotionless as she faced a judge inside a courtroom in Bakersfield, California.
02:54Ring camera footage shows police questioning the mom moments after she found both sons in a medical crisis.
03:01Hernandez is shielding her eyes from the bright sun.
03:04Police say temperatures inside the car soared to 143 degrees.
03:09Little Emilio had no pulse and died at the hospital.
03:12His two-year-old brother miraculously survived.
03:15It's a tragic situation and she's incredibly sad.
03:18I spoke to the mom's attorney.
03:19The children were clearly in the car.
03:22The allegation is she left them in the car knowingly.
03:24Right.
03:24I want people not to rush to judgment.
03:26The fact of the matter is she's still a child herself.
03:28She's barely 20.
03:30At a vigil, the children's grandmother spoke out against her daughter-in-law.
03:34I have been tortured, but the thought that they were in there alone, it was just a horrible experience.
03:39On social media, the grandmother posted she left them in their car seats alone for Botox.
03:45My God, why?
03:46The little boy's aunt teared up thinking of her last visit with Emilio.
03:50It's great knowing that I got at least that last moment before dropping them off at home and never knowing this would happen.
03:58Maya Hernandez had recently posted this selfie showing off her pouty lips.
04:03Now, that desire for full lips appears to have cost the life of her young son.
04:09Hernandez is charged with involuntary manslaughter and willful cruelty to a child.
04:14She has pleaded not guilty.
04:16The story is an important reminder to always be conscious that there are children in the car.
04:22Since May, 15 children have died in hot vehicles.
04:25This now former teacher is facing more than a dozen charges after being accused of having sex with a student, and it allegedly went on for years.
04:33Now, the student is 18, and in a move that is rare for victims in cases like this, he is going public to put a face on teacher sex crimes.
04:41Megan Alexander has details.
04:44It's a stunning moment.
04:45As a teen speaks out about the years of sexual abuse, he says he suffered at the hands of a teacher.
04:51Just because I'm a man doesn't mean that it should be shunned away, because I was a child.
04:57I wasn't a man.
04:58I was a boy.
04:59Grant Strickland met the kindergarten teacher when he was 14 years old and auditioned for the lead male role in his community theater production of Legally Blonde, the musical.
05:09It was a big hit on Broadway.
05:13Grant won the part.
05:15Nicole Callahan was the director.
05:17I had to grow up very, very fast and get on a whole other maturity level that I was never ready for and shouldn't have had to have been.
05:25Detectives say the teacher started grooming the ninth grader and pressured him into an inappropriate and unlawful relationship that went on for two years.
05:33She reportedly even signed him out of the school and personally drove him to rehearsals.
05:38Sometimes she drove him to a hotel.
05:41Several times they got together in a parking garage.
05:44State your name for me, ma'am.
05:45Nicole Callahan.
05:46The 33-year-old teacher wiped away tears during her first appearance in court in Anderson County, South Carolina.
05:53You will have a no-contact order with the victim or the victim's family.
05:57Do you understand the no-contact order?
05:59Yes, Your Honor.
06:00Grant, who is now 18, says he decided to come forward to put a human face on what he experienced.
06:06This happens, and it happens a lot, and it's not just to women.
06:10It's to men, too, and it happens to young children, and it's got to stop.
06:15I would never want someone to go through what I went through, because I don't really think that most people would be strong enough to survive it, because I almost didn't.
06:23Nicole Callahan has a five-year-old daughter and is reportedly pregnant with her fiancé's baby.
06:28The judge set her bond at $40,000.
06:31Out of the blue, this grandmother got a call from a 911 dispatcher.
06:35At first, she thought there was some sort of emergency.
06:37Then the dispatcher told her she was getting an award from the police department, but what she heard next almost knocked her off her chair.
06:45The dispatcher said she was being honored for being the dumbest person in her neighborhood.
06:50As Lestron reports, that dispatcher is no longer taking calls.
06:54This granny got quite the shock when her phone rang.
06:58It was the cops.
06:59It's the police department calling.
07:01Do I have your full attention?
07:02Karen Clinton says she imagined the worst.
07:05What's wrong?
07:06Oh, no.
07:06Do I need to sit down?
07:07I was terrified.
07:08I was bracing for impact.
07:11I was waiting to hear what awful news I was about to receive.
07:15At first, the dispatcher tried to reassure the distraught woman.
07:19You don't need to sit down.
07:20Everything's fine.
07:21But then came the jolt out of nowhere.
07:24I just want to let you know, congratulations.
07:26You've won the prize.
07:27You've got a contest.
07:29It's called the Booby Prize.
07:30You are the dumbest person to call this police department on a repeated basis.
07:35So thank you for being a resident of this city and have a wonderful life.
07:39It was very cruel.
07:40I was still trying to process what had just happened.
07:44So what's going on here?
07:46Well, Karen Clinton says she's somewhat of a neighborhood watchdog in her hometown outside Cleveland.
07:52And over the years, she has called the non-emergency number of the police department a lot over such issues as road construction safety, car horns blasting at night, drinking and drug use, and so on.
08:05In fact, those calls have apparently totaled 183 times in the past 15 years.
08:12People seeing this story are going to go, why would this woman call the police 183 times?
08:20It might sound a little bit excessive.
08:21If those numbers are accurate, if you do the math, it's one call a month.
08:25And for what goes on around here, that's not excessive at all.
08:28The dispatcher made the call on her last day on the job.
08:32Apparently, she wanted to let Karen Clinton know exactly how she felt about getting all those calls.
08:38You are the dumbest person to call this police department on a repeated basis.
08:42Ironically, the grandmother is a former dispatcher and firefighter herself.
08:48Meantime, the dispatcher who was fired for that call is charged with harassment.
08:52She has pled not guilty and goes on trial in September.
08:55Now, take a look at this terrifying moment.
08:59Whoa! Oh, no!
09:00That's a paraglider hitting a power line and falling into a river in Grand Forks, North Dakota.
09:07It was the parachute that hit the lines, causing a spark and then a crash into the river.
09:12Thankfully, the paraglider was not injured.
09:16The Trump administration's decision to not release the Jeffrey Epstein files is raising eyebrows,
09:21even among the president's diehard supporters.
09:23Adding to the mystery is the video of Epstein's jail cell released by the Department of Justice.
09:28But there's one minute missing, fueling lots of conspiracy theories online.
09:34Stephen Fabian spoke with a forensic video expert about what clues there are in the video that was released.
09:40It's the controversial video that is triggering a MAGA mutiny.
09:45It's supposed to show raw footage of the jail cell where Jeffrey Epstein was being held the night he committed suicide.
09:51The video was released by the Department of Justice to prove that no one entered Epstein's cell before he was found dead.
09:58And that he really did take his own life.
10:01But it's only fueling more conspiracy theories.
10:05Look, the video jumps just before 1159 to midnight.
10:10There's one full minute missing.
10:12Attorney General Pam Bondi tried to explain the missing minute.
10:16Every night the video is reset and every night should have the same minute missing.
10:21I spoke with forensic video expert Andrew Garrett.
10:24Do you think this is really the raw footage?
10:27No, not at all.
10:28We've got major problems with this video.
10:30You have a missing section of the video.
10:33These are two actual videos stitched together.
10:36So do you believe this video was purposely edited?
10:40It definitely looks suspect.
10:42Pam Bondi's declaration that there was nothing suspicious about Epstein's death is leading to a MAGA civil war.
10:49Fox News personality Laura Ingram spoke at a conservative gathering over the weekend.
10:53How many of you are not satisfied with the results of the investigation?
10:59So did Steve Bannon.
11:01Epstein is a key that picks the lock on so many things.
11:05Not just individuals, but also institutions.
11:08But President Trump is standing by his Attorney General.
11:11He gave her the thumbs up sign at the World Club Soccer Finals Sunday.
11:15He also posted,
11:16Pam Bondi is doing a fantastic job.
11:19We're on one team, MAGA, and I don't like what's happening.
11:23Meantime, Epstein's accomplished British social like Ghislaine Maxwell continues to serve a 20-year sentence for her role in their sex trafficking operation.
11:31She's currently appealing to the Supreme Court to take a look at her case.
11:35Check out this arena of people cheering in celebration as loud as they can.
11:39No, it's not a major sporting event.
11:41It's last night's finale to Love Island that had crowds reacting like it was the Super Bowl.
11:48Allison Hall has details.
11:50It's an epic watch party.
11:53Are they watching the Super Bowl?
11:56The NBA Finals?
11:58Nope, they're not.
12:00Last night at bars and venues across the USA, thousands of fans gathered for the nail-biting season finale of Love Island, USA.
12:10The hit reality show where viewers vote to decide who stays and who gets kicked out.
12:17These die-hard fans in Nashville didn't hold back when contestants Brian and Amaya were crowned the winners.
12:24Congratulations, Brian and Amaya!
12:27Las Vegas got in on the action.
12:30With temperatures soaring into the triple digits yesterday, these fans got to enjoy the show while cooling off in the pool.
12:37I spoke to Maddie Bible, who organizes reality TV watch parties.
12:42This sounds like the Super Bowl of reality TV.
12:46It's bigger than the Super Bowl.
12:47I had never seen anything like that in my entire life.
12:50And no surprise here, there will be another season of Love Island.
12:54Season 8 is currently in production with a premiere expected in the summer of 2026.
12:59There was lots to look at in the stands at Wimbledon, including this royal moment,
13:03as Kate Middleton returned to the tennis tournament for the first time since starting her cancer treatments.
13:09She fought back tears as she got a rousing standing ovation.
13:14Cheers for Princess Kate.
13:16Kate Middleton gets a standing ovation as she makes her way to her seat in the Royal Box at Wimbledon.
13:22It's her first time at the world's top tennis tournament since battling cancer, and she was filled with emotion.
13:28The future queen shook hands with tennis legend Billie Jean King, who did a traditional curtsy before sitting down to watch the match.
13:36The next day at the men's final, she brought along her adorable kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
13:42Look how they've grown.
13:44Actor Matthew McConaughey is getting praised for this moment.
13:48Americans are not required to stand or bow to royalty, but he stood as a sign of respect when the royal family arrived.
13:55Today, the British papers are calling him a lovely southern gentleman for the gesture.
14:00And it's a Sweet Caroline surprise.
14:07That's music legend Neil Diamond belting out Sweet Caroline.
14:13The sing-along happened during the curtain call of the musical about his life, A Beautiful Noise, in Los Angeles.
14:20The 84-year-old stopped performing seven years ago because of his battle with Parkinson's.
14:25But he's still got it.
14:31Bravo!
14:32And take a look at this video turning ads on social media.
14:35That's Christy Brinkley and her daughter, Sailor, all dialed up for a night on the town.
14:3971-year-old Christy posted the fun moment on Instagram, and it was flooded with comments saying the two look more like sisters than mother and daughter.
14:48Back with much more Inside Edition after this.
14:51Next, Trump versus Rosie O'Donnell.
14:55Can the president really revoke her U.S. citizenship?
14:58She left our country, which is a good thing.
15:01Who knows what he can and can't do?
15:02And then, Betty Davis Eye's Battle, the original.
15:06She's got Betty Davis Eye.

17:30For almost two decades, President Trump has been locked in a war of words with Rosie O'Donnell.
17:35And the fact she's moved all the way to Ireland has not helped.
17:39After Rosie criticized the president's handling of the Texas flood disaster,
17:42he posted that he's looking into revoking her American citizenship.
17:47Amber Cogliano has more.
17:49President Trump has ignited a new war with Rosie O'Donnell.
17:53He says he's thinking of revoking her U.S. citizenship.
17:56Rosie O'Donnell is not in the best interest of our great country.
17:59I am giving serious consideration to taking away her citizenship, he wrote on Truth Social.
18:05He dug in even deeper at Andrew's Air Force Base Sunday.
18:09I don't know about Rosie.
18:11I watch Rosie.
18:12Rosie's a mess.
18:14She's a mess.
18:15But she left our country, which is a good thing, not a bad thing.
18:20O'Donnell moved to Ireland after Trump's 2024 election.
18:24Today, she's firing back.
18:26Trump has always hated the fact that I see him for who he is,
18:30a criminal con man, sexual abusing liar, out to harm our nation to serve himself.
18:37This is why I moved to Ireland.
18:39O'Donnell also went on radio in Ireland addressing his threat to yank her citizenship,
18:44even though she was born in the U.S.A.
18:46I know he can't do that, but the Supreme Court has given him unbridled powers,
18:51and who knows what he can and can't do.
18:53The Trump-O'Donnell feud goes back nearly two decades,
18:57ever since she mocked the future president's hair on The View.
19:01There he is, hair looping, going,
19:02everyone deserves a second chance.
19:07And I'm going to give her a second chance.
19:11This guy.
19:12This is a mess.
19:13Legal experts have noted that the president does not have the power
19:17to revoke the citizenship of someone born in the U.S. accepting cases of fraud.
19:22We'll be back with more Inside Edition after this.
19:26Still to come, Betty Davis Eyes battle.

23:43Singer JoJo Siwa just released a new cover of the mega hit,
23:47and it's going viral for all the wrong reasons.
23:51And she knows just what it takes to make a progress.
23:57Social media is in an uproar over JoJo's gravely-voiced version of the classic song.
24:02She got Betty Davis' eyes.
24:06Even Kim Karnes, now 79 years old, is weighing in.
24:11There is a difference between singing a song and embodying it.
24:14I'm forever grateful to be the voice behind this one, Betty Davis' eyes.
24:19Kim Karnes seemingly shades JoJo Siwa, says this headline.
24:23Kim Karnes suddenly disses JoJo Siwa, goes another.
24:27Looks as though there's agreement.
24:29If you want to listen to Betty Davis' eyes, go with the original.
24:33Oh, she's gone.
24:34Betty Davis' eyes.
24:37The song was a tribute to legendary Hollywood icon Betty Davis,
24:41known for her striking eyes.
24:42When the song was a hit, she wrote a note to Kim Karnes,
24:45thanking her for making her, quote, part of modern times.
24:49When we come back, why one family may want to roll up their car windows.
