Ollie Westbury brings you the latest news from Michael Appleton's pre-match press conference ahead of trip to Tranmere Rovers.
Transcript
00:00I'm at Shrewsbury's Sundorn Castle training ground where we have just spoken to Salop head coach Michael Appleton ahead of the trip to Merseyside as Salop take on Tranmere tomorrow, lunchtime kick-off in their first away game of the League 2 season.
00:18From an availability point of view, surprisingly maybe, but it feels like Eli Harrison is still 50-50 about whether he is going to be available for the game or not.
00:31I kind of assumed that he would be okay for this week after missing last week with bone bruising to his right foot after picking up an issue in the final pre-season friendly against Burnley.
00:42Not quite just yet or still touch and go for Eli Harrison, which comes as perhaps a little bit of a shock because he thought that might have settled down over the course of the week.
00:53Michael Appleton revealing that the decision will actually be down to him about whether he feels like it's okay or not.
00:59Some other probably headline news that you'll see on the Shrop Star website over the next couple of days is that Max Matter will be out for 8-10 weeks from the moment of when he was injured.
01:09So I think he's already two weeks into that, so we're looking at roughly 8 weeks, 2 months out on the sidelines from that hamstring injury that he picked up in training.
01:18So that's a blow for Shrewsbury. They're going to be without the services of the New Zealand international for some time.
01:25A side note, transfers. People are talking about transfers quite a lot this week and incomings and outgoings.
01:31Taron, Michael Appleton expecting things to potentially pick up just a little bit next week.
01:38Not, you know, didn't give a great deal more away than that, but the fact that things could pick up and things will be coming out on the Shropshire Star over the next couple of days is more on that.
01:49I asked Michael Appleton quite a lot of questions regarding Shrewsbury's transfer position and the situation that they find themselves in and whether it does have to be one in and one out and how the budget is heading into the new season with 45 league games left to go.
02:05Shrewsbury's 12.30 kick-off tomorrow at Tranmere. Incredible away following by the town fans as they make their way to Prenton Park allocation sold out, which is an absolutely fantastic effort.
