00:00Are you still looking at us?
00:02Yeah, yeah. We still get loads of players put to us.
00:07We're still sticking to the ones that we're targeted and we're still negotiating.
00:13Basically, we're in a parent club letting the players go to us.
00:19It's an ongoing thing at the moment. We've been waiting for some time.
00:24It's a little bit frustrating but we've just got to be patient and keep your fingers crossed that nothing crops up, which it can at times.
00:33Before the end of the transfer window, John, would you expect another two or three or one or two?
00:38Yeah, I'm expecting at least a couple.
00:41You're happy with your squad so you can't predict what might come in but hopeful that you're not going to see anyone go out the door?
00:49No, it's not on the agenda. We've got too many injuries.
00:52Barney Stewart, Finn Yeats, Tom Lang, Cole Donaldson, Jamie Sneddon.
00:57There's five. Remember, we need to be carrying us.
01:01We're filling the bench right now but we're filling the bench like Younglis Walker's on it
01:06and Flynn McCaffrey were on the bench at the weekend.
01:09If we put one or two of the guys there into the team, it means that our home squad's stronger.
01:13So we've got a number of players out, as everyone does, and I'm not worried about that. I'm just telling you where a squad kind of lies right now.
01:20Yeah, if you had a crystal ball and you knew what kind of injuries you were going to have going forward,
01:25you would maybe bring in one or two players in different positions than what I'm going for right now.
01:29But with the name of a crystal ball, you don't know anything.
01:32Like all teams, you could end up a little bit short.
01:34But we've got some versatile players as well who can go and slot into different positions.
01:38Conor Allen's very, very versatile player for us.
01:41He can slot into three or four different positions, which is a bonus.
01:46So, no, we know the positions that we want to strengthen in, have competition in.
01:56We're just waiting on the go ahead, basically.
02:01I take it there will come a point now where you maybe need to say that these ones aren't coming.
02:05You know, I take it is there a plan in place as that does?
02:08I hope not. I hope not. You know, I hope not.
02:11You know, because we've been on the trail for so long, you know, we're in for the long haul.
02:15We haven't been in with some of them since April.
02:18Okay.
02:19You know.
02:20You know, you've all heard the story with regards to the English Cubs coming back later.
02:25We obviously started earlier.
02:27But these guys are not far away from the first team, so they're going on tour with the first team.
02:31And they're now being on tour.
02:33They've been to America, they've been to Asia, they've been to Tumbuktu.
02:37And they've been in around it.
02:39And they're now maybe going to sign new contracts before they let them go out on loan.
02:44And then there's negotiations going to go on.
02:46So, you know, you could be ending up on the last day in the window, who knows.
02:49But I mean, at some point, back off, Kenny like, as I say, the amount of players are given to you, you know, hundreds.
02:59It's got to be hundreds.
03:00And there was nothing really, Kenny really, you know, gave us that.
03:06We must get that.
03:08There's been a couple.
03:09And they're probably two championship clubs in England will get them probably four yards, that's it.
03:20That's it, Kenny like, what you're up against.
03:22You know, maybe target a lad and then somebody in a championship will come and put an offer in.
03:29Or a League One team, a lot of money kicking around in League One in England, a lot of money they have in that league.
03:35And it just takes only one to come up and then you've got a decision with an English club, with an English boy.
03:42Do you want to go to Scotland or do you want to play for Wickham Wanderers or something, you know what I mean?
03:47For example.
03:49Players, John, do you literally mean hundreds?
03:51Yeah, I do literally mean hundreds, aye.
03:53How did they start to even sift through?
03:55Well, dribs and drabs, aye.
03:57You're not getting a hundred odd at one time, but from looking back to, like I mentioned April.
04:03Yeah.
04:04And probably before that, it's starting to look beyond.
04:08I mean, as soon as that January window closes, you're looking at next year.
04:13I mean, we now are looking at next summer because there's guys now in England who will go out for their first loan.
04:20So you track the guys who are on their first loan because we really want players who are on their second loan.
04:26Henry Cartwright, for example, it's his first loan, you know.
04:31In an ideal world, it would be his second loan.
04:33But we like what we see with Henry and that's why we brought him here.
04:37But in an ideal world, you're trying to get somebody who's been out, tasted what it's like to live a week at home, to go to a different culture.
04:45Because we're targeting big clubs. We're talking about Newcastle's Man United to get players here, you know.
04:51So it's a different environment coming out of these academies where they're getting pampered, you know, really, really pampered.
05:00But what we need to do is we're looking at them, you know.
05:06And we're looking at them and moving at home.
05:09So you can see what's going on in the next seven years.
05:12So you can see what is going on in the next six years.
05:14And if you're going to try and look on the next seven years of Canada.
05:17So we're going to look at them to the next seven years.
