During a press gaggle on Wednesday, Border Czar Tom Homan was asked about a new ICE detention facility in Indiana named the "Speedway Slammer."

00:06Who came up with the name and also how much is this going to look like Alligator Alcatraz?
00:14I don't know who came up with the name, and I don't know the details, but I'll say this.
00:18Again, 1,000 beds come in very handy, and I'm glad the states are stepping up to help us do this.
00:23Every bed we bring on, we fill pretty quickly.
00:27I mean, we don't have less than several hundred beds this morning.
00:30We'll fill them by the warm morning.
00:32So the more beds we bring on, and look, I'll say it again,
00:35I am happy that governors are stepping up wanting to help with this,
00:39because Interior Enforcement is their responsibility too.
00:42They saw what happened to the crime race.
00:44They see what happened to all the U.S. citizens that were attacked by people not supposed to be here.
00:48They've read all the stories on young women raped and murdered by members of criminal cartels
00:52that were released in this country by administration.
00:55They're angry too, and they're happy that President Trump's taking action
00:58to not only secure the board at the highest level ever, but to make this country safe again.
01:02I'm glad governors are stepping up, but I'll say it again.
01:05I would like to see bigger facilities that be more efficient, holding several thousand people,
01:09but 1,000-bed facility is a great help because we need those 1,000 beds.
01:13We need them today.
01:14So the quicker they bring it on, the better.
