Students from Canowindra High were among more than 150 participants from 11 schools who shared their experiences trying out junior judging, preg testing, and sheep rearing.

00:00I've learned heaps about preg scanning, judging sheep, and what polled horses are ideal for farming.

00:05And these rams here are ideal.

00:07And so, has it made you want to get into farming? Was it something that you were thinking about before?

00:12Oh, absolutely. These sheep are just, they're lovely animals.

00:16Everyone here is really open to teaching you on how to farm, absolutely, in the future.

00:19And what do you think would be some of the opportunities or challenges getting into particularly sheep farming around here?

00:26I'd say probably the market now, where it's like through the roof.

00:29Yeah, so buying sheep is not ideal, but, yeah, no, I think the challenge is just getting the information.

00:34And everyone here today made it real easy to learn about how to farm sheep.

00:38I've been around sheep, not just the rest of the polled horses and like merinos, white stuff, and these dogs.

00:44Like, I've been around most of them, not so much polled horses.
