00:00Sean Diddy Combs' attorney is saying they've reached out to Donald Trump regarding a presidential pardon.
00:06The music mogul was found guilty for two prostitution-related offenses,
00:11but was acquitted of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges.
00:15Combs is currently in prison, awaiting sentencing.
00:17His attorney, Nicole Westmoreland, told CNN,
00:20It's my understanding that we've reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon.
00:25Her comments came a day after Combs was denied a bid to be released from prison,
00:29as he awaits sentencing in October.
00:31Trump previously said during a press conference that he would certainly look at the facts regarding the mogul's case,
00:37as he hadn't been watching it too closely.
00:39Then when he was asked about Combs again last week during an interview with Newsmax,
00:44Trump responded,
00:45I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great and he seemed like a nice guy.
00:49I didn't know him well, but when I ran for office, he was very hostile.
00:52The president added,
00:53We don't like to have things cloud our judgment.
00:56However, Combs' terrible statements about him in the past
00:58make pardoning him more difficult to do.
01:01The hip-hop mogul faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
