00:00Ivor the Engine. There he is, at choir practice on the siding at Grumbly.
00:17Oh, very nice. Very nice. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you, Idris. You are in good voice today.
00:35Oh, that's kind of you, Mr. Evans.
00:37Not at all, Idris Bach. Glad to have you come and sing with us. I hope you will always be able to.
00:44Oh, so do we all. Isn't that right, Ivor?
00:49Well, as a matter of fact, Edwin Jones, we have a bit of trouble again. Half-crowns, you know?
00:55Oh, you're not out of half-crowns for the gas meter again.
00:59I'm afraid so. There are only four left.
01:04There are no half-crowns left anywhere around in this part of the country. You have had the lot.
01:10I wrote to Mrs. Griffiths of the Antiquarian Society a week or two ago, but I haven't heard anything.
01:16If I may say so, this seems to be an emergency. I think you would be well advised to go and see Mrs. Griffiths at once, now, without delay.
01:26Oh, well, we could, I suppose. Only Dye Station is expecting us back.
01:31I will personally telephone Dye Station and inform him.
01:36Oh, would you? Oh, good. Oh, right then, right then. Come on, Idris. We'll go up by Smoke Hill and collect Alwyn and the twins. Come on, Ivor.
01:44Oh, dear. That gas meter at Smoke Hill where the dragons live has been no end of trouble.
01:51I mean, half-crowns aren't real money anymore. It really is time something was done about it.
02:01Alwyn! Gyan! Bloodwyn!
02:06Jones the Steam collected the other three dragons and off they went to Flanmark.
02:11What shall we do with Flanmark?
02:12Oh, well, I think I had better go and see Mrs. Griffiths myself first.
02:19If you would just stay near Ivor till I come back with Mrs. Griffiths, would that be all right?
02:23Oh, certainly.
02:25So that is what they did.
02:30Jones went to see Mrs. Griffiths in her shop.
02:33Idris and Alwyn stayed in Ivor's firebox while Gyan and Bloodwyn, their twins, had a quick look around the town.
02:40Flanmark is a quiet place.
02:41It was evening and early closing day as well, so there was nobody about except the statue of St. George and the dragon in the square.
02:49Now, if there is one thing dragons hate, it is violence.
02:55The sight of that knight in armour spiking a poor little dragon with his lance was just too much for Gyan and Bloodwyn.
03:02The dragon swooped on the statue and blew on it with fiery breaths.
03:13Fortunately, the statue was cast in bronze and was fairly heatproof.
03:20So you see, Mr. Jones, it is a bit of a problem.
03:26The need for saving fuel has been made very clear to us.
03:30However, I do promise you a firm decision in a day or two.
03:35What is happening?
03:39It's red hot!
03:41St. George!
03:43Oh, stop!
03:44Stop it, friends!
03:46Stop, I say!
03:50Your dragons, Mr. Jones!
03:53Oh, they were attacking the angel statue of St. George, slaying the dragon!
03:59Well, I think they must have been trying to save the dragon.
04:03Oh, poor statue!
04:05But they haven't done it any harm.
04:07Take him away, I say!
04:10Avond, foul fiends!
04:12Avond!
04:13Oh, all right, all right, Mrs. Griffiths, we're going, we're going!
04:17Oh, how dreadful!
04:19Oh, oh, what a disaster!
04:21Oh, lovely, valuable statue!
04:26Vandalism!
04:27Vandalism!
04:28Oh, what a disaster!
04:30Oh, oh, oh.
