00:00Ivor the Engine.
00:10There he is, look, on the way home from Tuin Beach.
00:13With Jones the Steam, his driver, and Evans the Song,
00:16choir master of the Grumbly and District Choral Society.
00:20That was odd, wasn't it?
00:21Ivor going off to Tuin Beach all by himself.
00:24Very odd indeed.
00:26Not like Ivor, you know.
00:28Not at all.
00:30I wonder what got into him.
00:34Oh, I've got an idea what it is, Evan Evans.
00:36I usually know what Ivor is thinking.
00:39Oh, yes?
00:40And what do you reckon?
00:41Oh, shh.
00:42Not in front of the Engine.
00:44Oh, I see.
00:46Yes, of course.
00:50Very mysterious.
00:52Still, Jones the Steam and Ivor went on with their life as usual.
00:57Nothing particular happened.
00:58They took boots to Mr. Dinwiddie.
01:01They took boxes of fish to Mrs. Thomas.
01:03Oh, and, well, all sorts of things to all sorts of people.
01:08And every day, they were one day nearer to the annual outing of the Grumbly and District Choral Society,
01:14when Ivor was to take them all to Tuin Beach.
01:16Have you arranged for the, uh, you know?
01:23Oh, yes.
01:24Mr. Parry is taking them over on his lorry.
01:25And, uh, what about the joining?
01:28Shh, shh, shh.
01:28Come behind here.
01:29Out of the way.
01:32There was something odd going on.
01:35Even Ivor noticed.
01:38Jones and I whispering in corners.
01:40There was a sort of atmosphere of excitement about.
01:44Perhaps it was just the prospect of the outing.
01:46It's always a bit of a party.
01:48But Ivor went to bed feeling very puzzled.
01:55Morning, Ivor.
01:56Today is the day.
01:57The Choral Society outing.
02:00Today you must wear the silver wreath we won at the Ice Deathfod,
02:03and you must take us all to Tuin Beach for a bathe and a picnic.
02:08Jones' esteem lit Ivor's fire and oiled his slide boxes,
02:11and soon they were up at Lanyolk Station,
02:13where Mrs. Porty herself had polished the carriage for the outing
02:16and hung it all over with little flags.
02:19Ah, there you are, Ivor.
02:21Let me have a look at you now.
02:24Are you clean and polished and bright as a pin?
02:26Well, of course he is, Mrs. Porty.
02:29Right-ho, then.
02:30I'll see you at Tuin Beach.
02:32Bluebell and I are taking the picnic over in the donkey cart.
02:36Oh, oh, oh, oh.
02:38Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh.
02:41The next stop was Grumbly Town,
02:45where Evans the Song fixed the silver wreath on Ivor's funnel.
02:50And then off to Tuin Beach,
02:52with the Choral Society all singing together in the open carriage.
02:59I swear that I've never seen even so fair.
03:07As they came down to the beach,
03:09and Ivor saw the golden sand.
03:12He remembered how sad he had felt that day
03:15when all his friends went bathing
03:17and left him alone on the siding.
03:26Look, Ivor, what's that?
03:28Well, it's a delicate manoeuvre, this, you know.
03:33I had to attend to it personally.
03:38Are the chains on?
03:40Right away!
03:40Right away!
03:40Ivor felt himself lifted into the air.
03:49And then, swinging slowly round,
03:51he saw something that made him puff with excitement.
03:54A length of railway line
03:56leading down the beach into the sea.
03:59Come on, Ivor!
04:05Race you into the sea!
04:07Oh-oh!
04:12The Grumbly and District Choral Society,
04:14with their first base, Ivor the Engine,
04:16raced down the beach and dived into the sea.
04:19Ivor laughed so much,
04:23he blew his safety back.
04:25They raced backwards and forwards,
04:27having a marvellous time,
04:28until the splashing put his fire out,
04:30and they had to push him back onto the beach.
04:32The Grumbly and District Choral Society,
