Ivor the Engine.
00:10
There he is, look, on the way home from Tuin Beach.
00:13
With Jones the Steam, his driver, and Evans the Song,
00:16
choir master of the Grumbly and District Choral Society.
00:20
That was odd, wasn't it?
00:21
Ivor going off to Tuin Beach all by himself.
00:24
Very odd indeed.
00:26
Not like Ivor, you know.
00:28
Not at all.
00:30
I wonder what got into him.
00:34
Oh, I've got an idea what it is, Evan Evans.
00:36
I usually know what Ivor is thinking.
00:39
Oh, yes?
00:40
And what do you reckon?
00:41
Oh, shh.
00:42
Not in front of the Engine.
00:44
Oh, I see.
00:46
Yes, of course.
00:50
Very mysterious.
00:52
Still, Jones the Steam and Ivor went on with their life as usual.
00:57
Nothing particular happened.
00:58
They took boots to Mr. Dinwiddie.
01:01
They took boxes of fish to Mrs. Thomas.
01:03
Oh, and, well, all sorts of things to all sorts of people.
01:08
And every day, they were one day nearer to the annual outing of the Grumbly and District Choral Society,
01:14
when Ivor was to take them all to Tuin Beach.
01:16
Have you arranged for the, uh, you know?
01:23
Oh, yes.
01:24
Mr. Parry is taking them over on his lorry.
01:25
And, uh, what about the joining?
01:28
Shh, shh, shh.
01:28
Come behind here.
01:29
Out of the way.
01:32
There was something odd going on.
01:35
Even Ivor noticed.
01:38
Jones and I whispering in corners.
01:40
There was a sort of atmosphere of excitement about.
01:44
Perhaps it was just the prospect of the outing.
01:46
It's always a bit of a party.
01:48
But Ivor went to bed feeling very puzzled.
01:55
Morning, Ivor.
01:56
Today is the day.
01:57
The Choral Society outing.
02:00
Today you must wear the silver wreath we won at the Ice Deathfod,
02:03
and you must take us all to Tuin Beach for a bathe and a picnic.
02:08
Jones' esteem lit Ivor's fire and oiled his slide boxes,
02:11
and soon they were up at Lanyolk Station,
02:13
where Mrs. Porty herself had polished the carriage for the outing
02:16
and hung it all over with little flags.
02:19
Ah, there you are, Ivor.
02:21
Let me have a look at you now.
02:24
Are you clean and polished and bright as a pin?
02:26
Well, of course he is, Mrs. Porty.
02:29
Right-ho, then.
02:30
I'll see you at Tuin Beach.
02:32
Bluebell and I are taking the picnic over in the donkey cart.
02:36
Oh, oh, oh, oh.
02:38
Shh, shh, shh, shh, shh.
02:41
The next stop was Grumbly Town,
02:45
where Evans the Song fixed the silver wreath on Ivor's funnel.
02:50
And then off to Tuin Beach,
02:52
with the Choral Society all singing together in the open carriage.
02:59
I swear that I've never seen even so fair.
03:07
As they came down to the beach,
03:09
and Ivor saw the golden sand.
03:12
He remembered how sad he had felt that day
03:15
when all his friends went bathing
03:17
and left him alone on the siding.
03:26
Look, Ivor, what's that?
03:28
Well, it's a delicate manoeuvre, this, you know.
03:33
I had to attend to it personally.
03:38
Are the chains on?
03:40
Right away!
03:40
Right away!
03:40
Ivor felt himself lifted into the air.
03:49
And then, swinging slowly round,
03:51
he saw something that made him puff with excitement.
03:54
A length of railway line
03:56
leading down the beach into the sea.
03:59
Come on, Ivor!
04:05
Race you into the sea!
04:07
Oh-oh!
04:12
The Grumbly and District Choral Society,
04:14
with their first base, Ivor the Engine,
04:16
raced down the beach and dived into the sea.
04:19
Ivor laughed so much,
04:23
he blew his safety back.
04:25
They raced backwards and forwards,
04:27
having a marvellous time,
04:28
until the splashing put his fire out,
04:30
and they had to push him back onto the beach.
04:32
The Grumbly and District Choral Society,
