01:09Let's talk about the news.
01:11Because the Design Lights Consortium is looking for feedback on Draft 2 of SSL 6 and Luna 2.
01:19Both of these have been revised and expanded.
01:22Your comments, you can feed them into there until September 5th.
01:27The Illuminating Engineering Society is looking for public input on two different standards.
01:33There is LS-12X for particulars of nomenclature, such as not calling them lamps anymore.
01:42We might have to call them light sources, and IES RP-11 for residential spaces,
01:50which is largely revised around SSL lighting and what comes with IoT devices.
01:57AMS OSRAM have sold off their Entertainment and Industry Lamps section for €114 million to Ushio Inc.
02:07Sanon and Inari have bought Lumileds.
02:13No details except that deal will close on the first quarter of 2026.
02:19Zumtebel is leaving the U.S.
02:22Their New York factory will end operations as part of their new America's Business Plan.
02:28On the tariff tracker, tariffs on Mexico have been paused for 90 days.
02:33The U.S. is making new exceptions for Chinese solar cells and sensors.
02:38So your photo cell controls will not be so expensive going ahead.
02:46Everything from Europe costs 15% more now.
02:50Canadian goods not covered by the existing USMCA treaty will now be taxed at 35%.
02:57There will be no exceptions in pricing for South Korean semiconductors.
03:02And the de minimis exception on duties and tariffs for packages under $800, that's over as of the end of August.

03:22ENERGY STAR will continue operations for now.

03:30Sales are up at Rexel, with the first half of 25 showing a 1.6% increase in sales.
03:36Universal Display is offering a dividend at $0.45 per share.
03:40Signify is continuing their share buyback program, with not quite 200,000 shares coming back home, at €2197 per share.
03:50We have the first half of Legrand's year, showing sales up 13%.
03:56Q2 at Osram shows revenues up 18%.
03:59The first half at AD shows sales up at 25%.
04:03Q2 at Wesco shows sales up 7%.
04:07Q2 at Littlefuse shows sales up 9%, which means they'll be offering a dividend of $0.75 per share.

06:45And whistle pet trackers are going to be bricked at the end of the month
06:49because they were bought out by Tractive and the service is coming.
06:54So if you were using a whistle device to track the location of your dog,
06:59you can't no more or you won't be able to soon.
07:03In R&D news, UC Davis and their Color Lab are relaxing with colored lighting.
07:11They have determined that warmer lights are just better for your mood.
07:15500 nanometer light is great for flounder.
07:19This is based on research from Jeju National University for fish-centric lighting for fish farms, of course.
07:27Cornell suggests that light modulation might be the key to beating deep fakes.
07:31This is specifically very minor amounts in changes in lighting that are pre-planned, pre-programmed,
07:39and that would basically act as a watermark to prove that, I don't know,
07:42say the video of this episode is me talking and not some robot pretending to be me.
07:47We have a new single-pixel imaging tool that can detect sound waves.
07:55This will allow lighting devices to act as microphones with the right amount of, you know,
08:02fidelity and technology and software behind them.
08:07Better reflectors are better for visual light communications,
08:10with Bennett U boosting the range of Li-Fi.
08:14And operational hubs need better lighting.
08:17This is a study from the Shiraz University of Medical Sciences
08:21showing that operators need to be more comfortable to do their jobs.

08:31On the dark side of things, light pollution has been correlated with poor sleep,
08:37among another of other lifestyle issues.
08:40Allen has been linked yet again with poor cholesterol.
