00:01:53And tonight, during the class of the three-hour telecast, the World Tag Team Championship will be on the line.
00:02:03The Giant and Scott Hall of NWO Black and White, the Tag Team Tents will defend against members of NWO Wolfpack, Red and Black, Sting, and the total package, Led Kluger.
00:02:16But we're not going to stop from there.
00:02:19It's Kurt Hennig of NWO Black and White against Conan of the Wolfpack.
00:02:24And Chris Jericho will defend the cruiserweight belt against Ray Mysterio Jr.
00:02:29And hi, everybody.
00:02:31Tony Schiavone, the Professor Mike today.
00:02:33And we're joined here in this first hour by Bobby the Brain Hayden.
00:02:38And we'll talk about all of that in just a few moments.
00:02:40But let's enjoy the Nitro, girls, to kick off WCW Monday Nitro.
00:02:46And I tell you guys, what a week it's been in pro wrestling.
00:02:49You saw at the top of the program, the full-court press, the attack by the NWO Black and White on Goldberg, the world champ.
00:02:57He's undaunted, though.
00:02:58He may have gone down to that chokeslam, but Mike today, he is still the heavyweight champion of the world.
00:03:03No question about it, Tony.
00:03:04World's heavyweight champion as well as still undefeated Goldberg.
00:03:09Bobby the Brain Hayden is here, and let me explain why.
00:03:12Brain, of course, usually joins us for the second half of this program.
00:03:15But when we got to the arena today, the Living Legend Larry Zbysko was called into a meeting by TNT Time Warner executives.
00:03:23That meeting is still going on.
00:03:25We hope to get the Living Legend out here in just a few moments.
00:03:28And Brain, we don't know what this meeting is about, but I would venture to guess that it's about this Texas gag order put on him by NWO Hollywood and namely Dusty Rhodes last week.
00:03:39Well, I was in the back about two hours ago, and I saw so many suits and ties going.
00:03:43It looks like a Brooks Brothers convention.
00:03:44And you could hear Zbysko yelling in the room.
00:03:47You could hear his voice over everybody.
00:03:48About 15 minutes before airtime, he'd tell me to come out here, take his spot.
00:03:52I do not know what's going on back there, but it's got something to do with Dusty Rhodes, I bet.
00:03:56I want to introduce one of the participants to this jam-packed house here in Denver for this Saturday night worldwide in Sturgis, South Dakota.

00:04:32And in five days, Jay Leno, host of the Tonight Show, is going to get in the ring.

00:04:41Well, history's going to be made this Saturday night, Leno's wrestling debut.
00:04:46Well, I tell you, he better be very careful.
00:04:49When they're done with him, he'll be watching Mike Douglas' show from Jack Park's house.

00:04:57Gentlemen, the scene is set for this Saturday night in the Black Hills.
00:05:01We're all going to be riding to Sturgis, South Dakota, including Jay Leno and this man, Diamond Dallas Page.
00:05:10I don't think you had to talk too hard to him to get him to join you to meet Hollywood Hogan and, yes, none other than Eric Bischoff himself.
00:05:21Well, Jay, I know you're ready.
00:05:25And it's not like, Gino, I had to talk Jay into it.
00:05:30Well, that's exactly what it was like.

00:05:33Well, when you got a guy like Sleazy E, who stole his set, stole his jokes, and then ran him off his set, it wasn't that hard.
00:05:46Now, the reason why I could put a guy like Jay Leno in this situation is because there ain't going to be much left of Hollywood scum.
00:05:55Well, now, there's got to be a certain amount of apprehension getting into the ring with a man like Jay Leno.
00:06:05Of course, he's one of the greats in show business, probably one of the greatest in show business today.
00:06:09But getting in here is a little different story.

00:13:44So Time Warner thought that it would be appropriate to slap my hand.
00:13:48And after a very warm meeting, I pointed out that the only time I've ever stepped out of
00:13:54my duties as an announcer was when someone came to the set and interfered with me doing
00:13:59my job.
00:14:01So now what we're going to do is make the deal with Time Warner.
00:14:04Everything is working out real nice.
00:14:06And I pointed out to them that I will do my job or I will be flying around the country
00:14:10with Barkowski and Roden putting for birdies.
00:14:13And their responsibility is to keep people who do not belong on the set off the set.

00:14:21Well, fans, last week on this program, you saw a challenge issued to Goldberg, the world
00:14:26heavyweight champion.
00:14:27It came from Bryan Adams.
00:14:29As we know, Goldberg not one to back down.
00:14:32And the NW Hollywood made a statement as well.
00:14:34Here's what went down last week.
00:14:36Goldberg, your luck has ran out because tonight you're putting the title against me, Bryan Adams.
00:14:43I want you to take your best hold, and I want you to hold on as tight as you can because I'm going to take you for the ride of your life.
00:14:53And when it's all said and done, I'm going to bring the world title back to the NWO.
