00:00:16I don't even care.
00:00:17It's raining.
00:00:18It's perfect.
00:00:19Our new global show, our fabulous designers, we handpicked.
00:00:22I can't wait.
00:00:23And it's all starting now.
00:00:25How exciting is this, Heidi?
00:00:27Oh, hi, guys.
00:00:28So the designers for our new fashion competition design show are staying right here in this
00:00:33New York hotel.
00:00:34The designers are from around the world, and they've only just arrived.
00:00:37They have no idea that Heidi and I are here.
00:00:40Idea, and we're going to surprise them right now.
00:00:42It's an ambush.
00:00:45Here we go.
00:00:47All right, let's divide and conquer.
00:00:49Done.
00:00:56Martha?
00:00:57Surprise!

00:02:33And the winner will get to create a collection that will be sold on Amazon.
00:02:38You know, I've designed a lot of cool things, but I'll tell you what.
00:02:43They haven't been accessible worldwide for everyone to buy.
00:02:46That's thrilling.
00:02:47This is an unprecedented opportunity.
00:02:50Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:02:51Okay, okay, okay.
00:02:52Can I talk about the money?
00:02:53Let's talk about the moolah!
00:02:56Heidi's impatient.
00:02:57She wants to get to this.
00:02:59Well, you guys better get ready.
00:03:01One of you, in this room, will receive, where's my drum roll?
00:03:08Where is it?
00:03:09We get one million dollars!
00:03:15It's a million dollars.
00:03:20Can I say ?
00:03:21It is a million dollars.
00:03:23It is a million dollars.
00:03:24We can't believe it.
00:03:26Yes!
00:03:27Oh my God!
00:03:29I am so hungry for this.
00:03:32Winning one million dollars can definitely take my brand to the next level.
00:03:35It would be able to make bigger collections, to get better showrooms.
00:03:39A million dollars is like the capacity to really build something from the ground up.
00:03:44This is the biggest opportunity of my life.
00:03:47I can't mess this up.
00:03:48Your first fashion show will be at night, under the lights, in the heart of the city.
00:03:54Woo!
00:03:55You're going right here!
00:03:56But not this city, guys.
00:04:06We're going to Paris!
00:04:15And wait until you see who's going to join us when we get to Paris.
00:04:19Heidi and an elite panel of experts will judge you.
00:04:22you in fact your first show will be in front of the Eiffel Tower it doesn't get
00:04:26more iconic than that and finally for this fashion show and all of them
00:04:31actually the winner will have one of their looks immediately available in
00:04:35the making the cut store on Amazon it's amazing every assignment is a prize
00:04:40which is like huge at the end of the day I want people to buy my clothes do you
00:04:45understand now why I'm so excited for you guys yes yeah so everyone when we see
00:04:50you next it will be in Paris let's get this party started let's see who's gonna make that cut
00:04:56let's go to Paris let's go to Paris I love Paris I got Paris on my mind
00:05:03I'm freaking out that we're in Paris this is wild
00:05:19I live in Virginia with my husband and two little angels my family is completely supportive of me
00:05:26doing this right now so I've always said if I could show anywhere it would be in Paris I'm just thinking
00:05:33of my sequence flashing in front of the Eiffel Tower for the runway show and it's like oh my God it is
00:05:38happening little girl from the south here I go
00:05:44well going to Paris is always great funny thing is that I have to come all the way to New York to
00:05:48then fly back because from my house to Paris it's like three hour drive it's a very long detour the
00:05:53you guys at customs are gonna be like what the get doing here again my first time in Europe is it
00:06:03scary yeah from Ohio yeah everything that I've waited my entire life for is literally on a plate
00:06:11right in front of me but there are 11 other people in between me and that plate I am from Paris Ohio so
00:06:19Paris for me is like population 800 people and 8,000 cows Perry Sally Mindy Christy at one point I shared a
00:06:30two-bedroom trailer with my mom my dad and now I'm in Paris to show my garments in front of the Eiffel Tower
00:06:37after fashion school I began working for 3-1 Philip Lim after Philip I went to Oscar de la Renta I have
00:06:50spent my entire career building other people's brands and now it's finally my opportunity to do
00:06:55that I've I've literally worked my entire life to get to this point
00:06:59I love it so much it's what I always imagined a Parisian atelier to look like we can live here we will
00:07:21live here practically the moment I walk to that studio okay awesome now it's a competition time
00:07:28to step it up I opened my own shop ten years ago and it's now time to push my brand to the next level
00:07:48definitely I'm here to win like everybody else is here to win we'll be stitching and bitching over here
00:07:54it's what me and Megan's gonna be doing in our little corner
00:07:56bitchin and bitchin and bitchin
00:07:58so for your first fashion show you will be presenting two looks that represent
00:08:24your brand identity there will be a winner after every fashion show the winning designer for each
00:08:30show will have one of their looks sold on Amazon customers from around the world will be able to buy
00:08:36your look immediately so one of your looks must be accessible we want you to innovate yet be wearable
00:08:44with the other look push the boundaries there all right my goal is to make my accessible look
00:08:50innovative and creative but not too much to where the customer doesn't get it as I'm sure you all
00:08:55know you are responsible for making the designs that you present however this is not a sewing competition
00:09:03this is a design competition this is all about building a global brand so you will each be assigned
00:09:10a seamstress and that seamstress will work through the night to do basics for you there are things that
00:09:17you could certainly do because they're basics but is it a good use of your time in the real world this
00:09:21is how it goes you know it's like you work with your seamstresses I'm not a seamstress I haven't been
00:09:27sewing so much in the last 15 years so this is actually quite good so you will be spending your time on that
00:09:35sort of je ne sais quoi that makes you an especially distinctive designer your fashion show will be two
00:09:42days from now so keep in mind the clock is ticking now we're in Paris for a reason this is an exuberant
00:09:50source of inspiration so you are free to go out onto the streets of Paris as you please and I will see
00:09:58it tomorrow thank you much love this is crazy Santa you're my inspiration
00:10:23I love Paris Paris is my favorite place in the planet I'm definitely inspired right here by the Metro
00:10:47because I mean I love the luxury triumph but like the people the people in and out that's it lots of
00:10:53different cultures walking around and I sort of look at my customer like that it's different women from
00:10:58different backgrounds and that's my soul inspiration when I'm in the foreign city I always love to be on
00:11:04top you know having the first view yeah like yeah you can see you can breathe I like your figuring because
00:11:15they're like they're very womanly but then it's very straight or it's very like woman but then there's
00:11:21something very masculine about me I like I always had actually the mix of three cities like Berlin Moscow and
00:11:29Paris like the chicness of Paris and the avant-garde of Moscow and the rock and roll of Berlin the name
00:11:39of my brand is a super band that's my name I have no kids I have no husband this brand is my baby then I'm
00:11:48the the queen of black in Berlin my collection is the collection for strong personalities I'm seen by
00:11:57other people as a very strong woman and whenever a woman comes and buys a piece in my store they
00:12:04always buy a little piece of my personality which is soon into that garment and maybe they buy a piece
00:12:11of that strength and when they wear it they can feel it I do see myself as a fashion designer but first
00:12:20and foremost an artist basically I was thinking about how they put the bodies into frames as if they
00:12:26like came out of a block the first look is a jacket the next look is a dress and the jacket the model or
00:12:31the body is inside of the frame and then the next look is basically to take the frame and put it on top of
00:12:37the dress so now if I just draw like a crazy person my god get some feathers I don't know I like this
00:12:54my god I don't know I thought I would be out of here I know it's like everything's in French I might do some of this
00:13:23I mean I feel like I would need this there's something you need the black I do not fashion
00:13:31is literally everything to me I've just always loved it and I think my mom would say that from
00:13:36a very young age it's just been Martha has loved loved her clothes my brand the name is Newbern Newbern
00:13:43means new you it's the whole idea of reinventing yourself and wearing something a little crazy my
00:13:49aesthetic is bright and funky and pretty loud you know why not I don't do black period the end always
00:13:56be extra I showed at New York Fashion Week the people that are rocking my stuff they really love Newbern but
00:14:04like I mean can you blame them it's pretty fun I'm looking for something to layer under this and nothing
00:14:14seems to be working so I'll have to come up with a second plan my first look is a silk gown so I kind
00:14:23of want it to have a sheerness to it and like two shades of green I'm a little worried that it'll be
00:14:29too racy but then it's also it's Paris so I think they're definitely like different greens right and I
00:14:37feel like this and this is like bluer and this is more like a forest kind of pretty together yeah is this
00:14:43a lining no this is going to be like a three-ply gown just sheer stuff should be fine right yeah
00:14:48yeah yeah that is already yeah plus it's going to be gathered I think I should I could even make
00:14:55it two-ply yeah perfect how beautiful is this and how smart of us to choose Paris but we couldn't do
00:15:09fashion without coming to Paris no of course not totally makes sense yeah it's the birthplace of
00:15:13fashion it's the birthplace of style yes everything just looks so much better here I agree everything's
00:15:18very titillating titillating that is my word of the day titillating
00:15:37did you find everything I feel good we've been assigned to design a two-piece mini collection which
00:15:54is a snapshot of our brand one should be a little bit more runway and then one should be a little bit
00:16:00more accessible okay how's it going so good how you doing I'm literally just drinking tea because I
00:16:11don't know where to begin okay here we go you are ugly I will not use my first look is gonna be a bow blouse
00:16:24and a wide leg pant and then my second look is gonna be a drop waist dress in the same pattern but just a
00:16:32little bit different I'm currently working on my more commercial look I like to just do a bit of it
00:16:43like a piece of a garment and see how it looks and see what it's asking for and then continue to build off
00:16:49from that so just building my name is she won nobody in my school back in Oklahoma could say it so I had
00:16:59my parents tell me Rachel instead when I was six years old my family moved from Seoul South Korea to
00:17:08Oklahoma I felt so different that I just rejected my Korean identity to fit in and I never felt like I
00:17:17belonged anywhere when I moved to New York and I went to Parsons I realized that fashion was really
00:17:23the way that I could express myself the fashion industry really embraced me and it's the best feeling
00:17:30in the world I wanted my brand to be all about embracing my Korean identity I recently did a collaboration
00:17:39with Adidas Originals I've shown out New York Fashion Week London Fashion Week twice my drive to succeed
00:17:46just really comes from my parents everything I do I just want to make them proud and really take
00:17:53advantage of all the opportunities they've given me beautiful I love draping on the form so I'm just like
00:18:08cutting you know 45 euro fabric and hoping it'll work out and I think it will we'll see I formed my
00:18:17label at the end of 2015 and we launched at New York Fashion Week February of 2016 it's really for the woman who
00:18:24wants pieces that are really freeing to wear that's really important to me trying to get this thing cut but
00:18:34I'm terrified I really like the design aspect and I work very closely with the people that sew my clothes
00:18:39but I'm not a seamstress I I just like very very nervous about fabric cutting I cut it and I ruin it
00:18:47that's it this is very nerve-wracking with all of these talented designers all around me cutting their
00:18:53patterns sewing their things and I'm just kind of like biting my nails trying to figure out where to
00:19:00start Marty freaking out Martha like a lot of people that I know work directly with pattern
00:19:05making services she doesn't make her own patterns I'm just freaking out about cutting it so a lot of
00:19:12trying to figure those things out on her own is taking a lot of time for her you have to paint it
00:19:16yeah I have pattern makers I have things first but still I have to know how to get the freaking paint
00:19:24I know I know you're doing separate yeah yeah first ones uh it's not a suit but it's an ensemble including a
00:19:34jacket my vision for this two outfits is of course to stick to my DNA Esther's stuff is incredible as
00:19:47she walks in the room you're like who are you I want to know you I want to be you one look will have
00:19:52and trousers a blouse and a big scarf and the second outfit will be a dress with details which are my
00:20:03signature is it a coat coat dress jumpsuit half of a skirt and maybe it will egg warmer whoa
00:20:12the road for that Sanders the freak up here like he's gonna turn out some really cool freaky stuff I feel
00:20:19like I'm at an awesome sleepover with all my besties that also love designing clothing I got she's lacking a
00:20:38little bit of of confidence but you have to believe in yourself it will work it will
00:20:49it's it's just still hard for me but it feels good feels good this might turn out I just finished
00:21:11handing off my cotton pants to seamstress if I can come tomorrow and there's pants made I will be in an
00:21:18awesome space we're given the assistance of seamstresses at night but in order to have that
00:21:22assistance you have to create a tech pack and what a tech pack is is basically a manual of how to put
00:21:29something together so you're giving them an illustration you're giving them any threads
00:21:33buttons trims that go into that garment and you are literally writing a step-by-step instruction of how to put
00:21:39it together so seamstress pickup is coming really really soon the clock is ticking I'm like trying
00:21:47to cut these patterns it's so stressful I'm trying to write out on my tech packs and have enough written
00:21:54down for them to kind of know where to go from there I'm really feeling so overwhelmed I have to hope for
00:22:05the best are you excited to see your staff I want to see my stuff so badly hello studio okay the first thing I do is grab my my tech pack and my garment oh it's a pair of pants
00:22:10moment of truth oh my god it worked this is a good
00:22:40this is a win love hey I'm like really not expecting to see maybe anything done at all
00:22:49like maybe it's just still the patterns because they're like no we couldn't do that I really didn't
00:22:53know how I was going to come back okay that is interesting I kind of dig it and I'll just finish
00:23:02these perfect and it's long I really like what the seamstresses did it's great thank god yes
00:23:11good morning everyone how are you this is a very different looking room than when I left you last
00:23:19wow it really has become Santa's workshop and I'm thrilled to see it I'm eager to get into my talk
00:23:28with each of you okay hello G hi I'm eager to hear what you're doing yeah this is my more commercial
00:23:37piece my interpretation of a classic denim jacket I really like to work with using different cultures
00:23:44and meshing them together to create something entirely new so I'm using denim as like the American
00:23:49part because that's like where I grew up and there are also elements that I was inspired by like Korea
00:23:54to bring it all together so I have to say this about it it feels very organic it feels as though
00:24:00it breathes it's very beautiful great thank you so much what is this paired with my big runway piece
00:24:07is going to be all loose straps and they're going to be sewn onto this overcoat out of this fabric it's
00:24:14going to be layered so as the bottles walking down the runway it's going to be incorporating a lot
00:24:18of movement and this is one piece yes I was going to make a jumpsuit to go under but I don't know you
00:24:25do not this is ambitious enough I'm just I mean to be blunt I'm just concerned about your time my
00:24:33clothing have so many little like details and I did take on a little bit too much I am a bit stressed but
00:24:41I'm super competitive I got this good how's Martha hi Tim I'm good good tell me about this piece to
00:24:52start okay yeah so this drop waist dress really came together because I knew I wanted to go full print
00:24:58um but then once I saw this blue with it I was like wait a second this and I love it I've got a bunch of
00:25:05bow patterns cut out I'm gonna do a big blue guy for where for for the top no okay I think it will
00:25:14look too prim and right now this has a bit of a retro feeling on this has a younger girlier vibe
00:25:23mm-hmm yeah I would resist so let's move on to the space this is a big wide leg leg pant matching top
00:25:31matching the pant and that be like the look all right for me you're owning sophistication in this
00:25:39look and it's working and I'm concerned that this is going to look like her daughter oh god I wish you
00:25:47had seen it on me because I feel like why don't you run put it on I feel really strongly about that look
00:25:52it's I like it better than the pant honestly it's so me it's so cute and like I know that when I style
00:25:59that on the model it's gonna be good do you see what I see maybe I see a lot I think one of my
00:26:10issues is the baby blue yeah while you were gone I snooped you like the organza with it better look
00:26:20how it blends in yeah with the print I think it's getting more sophisticated the potential here is to
00:26:25give it that edge and this has got to be toned down okay he doesn't really love the dress that's
00:26:32like horrifying to me now I'm kind of just like scrambling I'm a little bit intimidated it's a lot
00:26:38this jacket is exquisite thank you quite frankly think this is a brilliant solution and I don't use
00:26:44the word brilliant very often I think this could be a winner let's hope so I'll do I really mean that
00:26:49thank you the sheen of the silk that's very seductive I love to give the sense and sensuality
00:26:56of the woman without showing too much it looks as though you took a bottle and just poured it
00:27:02fantastic it's very elegant a big compliment I was a little worried that it was a lot but I mean this
00:27:09is a show it's a show I wanted to push the bar a little bit this is a learning experience definitely
00:27:14each and every one of us if you're able to work with these other dimensions something that's kind
00:27:20of true to the brand that it's like you know working with the body as a canvas and it's like a bag as
00:27:24like your emotional baggage as if you're carrying it on you I think it's gonna be sensational I'm very
00:27:30excited or not yeah I'm excited you're excited I am thank you made my day all right bye so Esther tell
00:27:38me how you're doing I'm super left behind tell me why I needed to have one great trousers because
00:27:45this is important for my brand but it's important that it looks the way I wanted to use not that it
00:27:52works the way I wanted so it's a fake pocket perfect perfect often my styles are very complicated and I'm
00:27:59not a pattern maker I'm not a seamstress so this is actually the challenge the second look is this dress
00:28:05it stays floaty in the back and then also the belt still a lot to do but I'm a believer okay and I
00:28:13think this can knock everyone's socks off I still have my socks on so the challenge for me is to keep
00:28:20the look see my style but then make it happen in these only two days I didn't really want to work from
00:28:29an existing pattern I wanted to work in the way that felt truest to myself that's really like I love
00:28:35draping that's powerful when a woman wear something that's fluid and kind of like
00:28:39oh great voluminous and she really works it so this is
00:28:42more runway piece the more runway piece so not the piece you would put into production no so that
00:28:48is this piece the bones of this dress is one of the dresses that I sell really well I'll leave this
00:28:54open and then I'll drape it on her back and see where it hits her best you know because everyone has such
00:29:00different body I'm so happy to hear you say that because people try to put people into categories
00:29:04and there are three or four of them I know it's ridiculous we're a mixture of all sorts of things
00:29:10yeah yeah many of the pieces in my collection are I call it size fluid so I've seen women from like a
00:29:17zero to a 14 wear one of my like the same dress and the same cut and somehow every woman makes it
00:29:23entirely their own Johnny how are you doing I'm okay so this one is gonna be kind of a simple dress
00:29:29but it's in this really pretty cotton and he will be in these so you have a male and a female I have a
00:29:35male and a female for him I'm turning a biker jacket into a long tailored vest I just wonder whether you
00:29:46would be able to take this same silhouette and just cool it up because the way this now looks I would
00:29:56want to keep him away from her she looks very sweet and prim and he's rocking it okay it's kind of come
00:30:06down to the wire thank you Johnny I just have to focus intensely today everyone I have to say this and
00:30:18I say this rather emotionally after our session today the next big global fashion brand is absolutely in
00:30:32this room so congratulations and I will see you later all right work hard everyone
00:30:45so after the Tim talk I'm rethinking everything and I'm starting to spiral out of control I'm just so
00:30:55in my head and I'm just like trying to figure out where to go from here hey mama's here

00:31:58bye my husband was like I've got it all figured out and they're gonna be just fine
00:32:04I just have this clarity come over me and I'm just like you know what whatever I put on her is
00:32:10going to be fabulous I'm not going to stress I'm not going to worry I'm just going to get it done
00:32:13all right uh what's going on over there I'm not doing what Tim suggested oh yeah straight up not
00:32:30doing it do you want to tell me what that is or do you want to not tell me what that is
00:32:33yeah it means that I'm like keeping my dress as is because I love it oh yeah what about you
00:32:39do you have two yet I'm gracefully freaking out yeah gracefully freaking out I'm trying to get
00:32:47stuff ready for my models that's my first deadline I'm excited to get the models in for a fitting that
00:32:51really brings everything to life it has some stretch to sanders royal blue blazer with the stick in the
00:33:10sleeve I'm really curious how exactly that's gonna look on the runway look at you do you feel like
00:33:22you step on it when you walk a little bit yeah I make the skirt a little bit longer it's a little
00:33:28Gucci but you look good you have to walk very normal yes perfect ah
00:33:37yes yes go ahead thank you bye bye that's how we do it in the street
00:33:53it's the end of day two we've prepared tech packs for the seamstress this whole time I've thought
00:34:04Esther would be the greatest competition but she seems really behind tomorrow is the show I'm handing
00:34:12in the dress to the seamstress she can understand hopefully what I want can I ask you something how
00:34:22would I mention it to the seamstress we say in German like in the shadow of the seam do you say
00:34:28that like that sweet you say I don't know what it's yes stitch in the ditch stitch in the ditch
00:34:33stitch in it okay she will understand that one way everyone good night say you're not see you tomorrow on the
00:34:46runway I will write some more instructions on this dress if she can't make it I'm out tomorrow
00:35:03I have so much work to do I go yes I got it I knew it was not finished okay when I open my pouch with
00:35:24the stuff I handed in last night it was not done the way I wanted I have to throw away my
00:35:33ideas somehow and completely start all over again I have two hours what can I do in two hours I have
00:35:42to reinvent the whole dress Esther's in trouble she's only got two hours to start from scratch on a
00:35:47brand new look okay good good good good good good praise Jesus
00:35:53hello everyone attention all right just quickly have you all adequate
00:36:23wrapped your brains around what's about to happen.
00:36:28You're going to have a fashion show in Paris,
00:36:31I have chills now just saying it,
00:36:33in front of the Eiffel Tower.
00:36:35Great.
00:36:36How phenomenal is that?
00:36:39Now, you have approximately two hours in the design studio,
00:36:44so whatever you need to do to finish your garments, do it.
00:36:50I will see you at the Eiffel Tower.
00:36:54Get back to that sewing room.
00:36:58So, Victor.
00:36:59Oh, yeah.
00:37:02You OK?
00:37:03Yep.
00:37:04I really have to hurry up now.
00:37:06I have not much time.
00:37:08I need to somehow finish three pieces at the same time.
00:37:11Is this one on?
00:37:14I was hoping the whole night that my dress will be done
00:37:18the way I wanted to.
00:37:20Yes.
00:37:22But it was not.
00:37:30The hair's got to be like, wow, like, crazy.
00:37:33You want some cream?
00:37:34Yeah.
00:37:35OK.
00:37:35OK.
00:37:36Oh, my God, I love it.
00:37:38I'm just checking in on your passport.

00:37:44521?
00:37:457.

00:37:47We either go necklaces or bow.
00:37:57Yeah.
00:37:58Did we?
00:37:59What am I looking for?
00:38:01We are more subtle than her.
00:38:02Yeah.
00:38:03I'm freaking out.
00:38:04Why'd they do this to me?
00:38:05You are truly one of the most talented people I've ever met.
00:38:07This is really nice of you.
00:38:08I have a lot of doubts.
00:38:09I just have to put the collar on, and then I can worry about all the loose threads and whatnot.
00:38:26I'll be done, but I'm just worried about the overall look of it, you know?
00:38:31I need more time.
00:38:32I will have to ask Vinat to do some hand-stitchings, otherwise it's not possible to finish.
00:38:38Hey, what do you need for me?
00:38:39You could soothe the hem.
00:38:40Oh, so you marked it already.
00:38:41Yeah.
00:38:42Cool.
00:38:43Cool.
00:38:44I got it.

00:39:38Just ten more minutes.
00:39:39I do feel stressed.
00:39:41Should we do this?
00:39:42That's drama.
00:39:43I feel like you're like this.
00:39:44Man.
00:39:45I'm sorry.
00:39:46I like this.

00:39:51I don't have enough time to pin it.
00:39:52Okay.
00:39:53Okay.
00:39:54No time.

00:43:31That's interesting in her
00:43:33Maybe I will wear more
00:43:40The tailoring
00:43:41Than the mini skirt
00:43:42And I like the yellow
00:43:43Line on the side
00:43:44I would wear the top
00:43:45And I would wear it with jeans

00:45:14And I just wanted
00:45:17All of that sacrifice
00:45:18To mean something
00:45:19I think that'd be like
00:45:22My stuff is in front of the Eiffel Tower
00:45:26Like this is the capital
00:45:28Of everything to me
00:45:29I think this is pretty

00:45:51That I ever wanted
00:45:52Congratulations
00:45:54The black dress is way too short

00:46:38On the runway
00:46:39I think
00:46:39I'm on top of the world
00:46:40Right now
00:46:41I'm in front of fashion icons
00:46:43Legends
00:46:43People that I've looked up to
00:46:45My entire life
00:46:46And I
00:46:46This is everything
00:46:57I need a video

00:46:57Brilliant
00:46:58The tailoring could be a little sharpened up
00:47:09But I think the lines are there
00:47:10And I love the color

00:47:49So many pieces of
00:47:51And I've been proud of every iteration of this dress
00:47:54I don't know what this is
00:47:56It's not like it
00:47:58Everything's see-through
00:48:16I just don't get it
00:48:17There's lights
00:48:20There's wind
00:48:22And like it's sheer
00:48:24It's like really sheer
00:48:26And I'm just kind of like praying

00:48:30No pants
00:48:32I see a whole lot I don't want to see
00:48:35So I got to use the undergum
00:48:36I like the color
00:48:37The choice of models was strong too
00:48:40That was like really naked
00:48:43Like that was just fabric
00:48:44Yeah
00:48:45I agree
00:48:45I was like tacked together
00:48:47The blue one was not a design
00:48:48It was nothing to design
00:48:49Yeah
00:48:50Here we go
00:48:55I like the mom
00:49:03I like the way she walks
00:49:05Are you happy?
00:49:08Yeah
00:49:08But I don't like it often
00:49:12It's too simple
00:49:13Two different parties
00:49:30And you're supposed to be a little cohesive
00:49:32We go dummy dummy
00:49:33With plenty of money to spend
00:49:34Honey honey
00:49:35If you love me
00:49:36Then bring one of your friends in
00:49:38And let's take shots
00:49:39No chases
00:49:40Call a memory of racists
00:49:41Play the blame game
00:49:42And the print is just enough
00:49:46Yeah
00:49:46Because it balances it out
00:49:47Let me see your one way walk
00:49:49Make your heels click

00:50:13And style of it all
00:50:14I just
00:50:15I love it
00:50:16And I'm just

00:50:25No it's fine
00:50:26He's on to something
00:50:29With that fake blue
00:50:30It's not my thing
00:50:32But I get it
00:50:33I'm not in love with this
00:50:49I mean
00:50:50We can all tie a piece of fabric
00:50:51Around our butts
00:50:52I don't see anything else
00:50:53I'm not not at it
00:50:56I think that it's a strong statement
00:50:58How are you feeling about it?
00:51:11Good
00:51:12Very good
00:51:12Very very good
00:51:13Fly baby

00:51:30Let it go
00:51:31Yeah
00:51:32I think Sabato is very thoughtful
00:51:35I feel good because I think
00:51:37This is a great representation
00:51:39Of my brand
00:51:41I would wear that
00:51:42It looks really well made too
00:51:44And I can imagine
00:51:46What a 40-piece collection
00:51:48Could look like
00:51:49I agree
00:51:49We're just a daughter
00:51:56Congratulations
00:51:57How about it?
00:52:03You know why?
00:52:03Because we're in front of the

00:52:16Steaks are high
00:52:17Yeah, clearly
00:52:18But I'm excited
00:52:19I like the blue jacket
00:52:23But what about the things to put on?
00:52:25I like the flag
00:52:26I don't get it
00:52:27This draft is very cold
00:52:30In the best way
00:52:31And I'm here for the drama
00:52:33I've never seen anything like this
00:52:41It's innovative
00:52:42It's an interesting idea
00:52:44It's really pushed
00:52:48Congratulations
00:52:49Thank you so much
00:52:50Thrilling
00:52:50I couldn't make the impressing
00:52:57It was not ready
00:52:57So I had to make something else
00:53:00This entire process
00:53:01Is a learning
00:53:02Can you turn my heart to you?
00:53:09Yes, I can
00:53:09Right to your heart
00:53:10I'm really proud
00:53:13Because I really worked my ass off
00:53:15I did everything I can
00:53:17I was always coping
00:53:18With the situations
00:53:19I always reinvented
00:53:21I'm actually surprised
00:53:22Like what I can do
00:53:23Fantastic
00:53:24So if the judges
00:53:27Don't like it
00:53:28Then it's okay
00:53:30I proved it to myself
00:53:31I proved it to myself
00:53:31I proved it to myself
00:53:31I proved it to myself
00:53:31I proved it to myself
00:53:31I proved it to myself
00:53:32I proved it to myself
00:53:33I proved it to myself
00:53:34I proved it to myself
00:53:35I proved it to myself
00:53:36I proved it to myself
00:53:37I proved it to myself
00:53:38I proved it to myself
00:53:39I proved it to myself
00:53:40I proved it to myself
00:53:41I proved it to myself
00:53:42I proved it to myself
00:53:43I proved it to myself
00:53:44I proved it to myself
00:53:45I proved it to myself
00:53:49I proved it to myself
00:53:55I proved it to myself
00:53:56I proved it to myself
00:53:57I proved it to myself
00:53:58That we could look back
00:54:01Remember this like a dream
00:54:04How fabulous was that?
00:54:09Are you feeling like a proud mom?
00:54:11I do
00:54:11I feel like a proud dad
00:54:13It's so surreal
00:54:15Thank you so much everybody
00:54:28Bye, you did amazing
00:54:36I think everybody feels the pressure
00:54:56Of the first elimination
00:54:57Knowing how quickly
00:54:59And how easily
00:55:00Something can slip right out of your fingertips
00:55:03Puts everybody on edge
00:55:05Bonjour everybody
00:55:07Hi guys
00:55:09Hola
00:55:09Hi Tim
00:55:12Hi
00:55:14So I have to know
00:55:16How was it for you guys?
00:55:18It was awesome
00:55:18Goosebumps everywhere
00:55:21And how excited are you guys
00:55:25About all of the judges?
00:55:26Fantastic
00:55:27So good
00:55:29Designers
00:55:33We told you
00:55:35That this is going to be a wild ride
00:55:37I want you all to know
00:55:38That as a general rule
00:55:40Any number of you
00:55:42Can be sent home
00:55:44After a fashion show
00:55:45If we don't think
00:55:47That you have what it takes
00:55:48You're not going to make the cut
00:55:51As you know
00:55:55We're here to find the designer
00:55:56Who can create the next great global brand
00:55:59The designer behind the brand
00:56:01Is just as important
00:56:02As the clothes that walk the runway
00:56:04We discussed each of your brand's snapshots
00:56:07And based on the fashion show
00:56:09We have made some decisions
00:56:10But they're not necessarily final
00:56:13So now we're going to talk to you
00:56:16We want to know what you're all about
00:56:18And how you want to run your business
00:56:20And I have to tell you guys
00:56:22That one conversation
00:56:23Can change our minds
00:56:26Jasmine
00:56:28Come talk to us
00:56:30Hello Jasmine
00:56:31How are you?
00:56:31Hi Jasmine
00:56:32Tell us about your brand snapshot
00:56:34Jasmine Chong is about
00:56:36Like quiet luxury
00:56:37And pieces that feel
00:56:39Kind of opulent
00:56:40And lightest air
00:56:41Lots of movement
00:56:42And having the body
00:56:44Being the anchor
00:56:45And the clothing
00:56:46Kind of moving around
00:56:48Different sizes
00:56:48And body types
00:56:49Hearing you talking about
00:56:51Size inclusivity
00:56:52I think it's really moving
00:56:53And it's a part of who you are
00:56:55But I felt like that
00:56:57Wasn't really translated
00:56:59In your pieces
00:57:00Like I don't know
00:57:02That I could totally tell you
00:57:04What you are about
00:57:05Or what your brand is about
00:57:07From looking at these two pieces
00:57:09I couldn't agree with you more
00:57:10I mean there's a lot of designers here
00:57:12Where immediately
00:57:13You know what they're all about
00:57:15You know what girl they're dressing
00:57:17What I did love
00:57:19About the blue
00:57:20Is I love your type of model
00:57:22That you asked to wear it
00:57:24A lot of women worry about
00:57:25Rolls and flesh folds
00:57:27And I was like
00:57:28I want to show that
00:57:29I'm like
00:57:30Can you just turn around
00:57:31And show me that little fold
00:57:32And I pinned it right there
00:57:34I love that
00:57:34That you want to
00:57:35You know design for
00:57:36Women who have more curves
00:57:38Because there should be more designers
00:57:39That do that in any case
00:57:41But it doesn't reflect to me
00:57:43In both of the pieces
00:57:44And mainly in the green one
00:57:46Because you see everything
00:57:48To me it just looked
00:57:49Really important
00:57:50She was very naked
00:57:53I thought that the green
00:57:55Was a really good color choice
00:57:56But we're thinking about
00:57:57This winning piece right
00:57:58That we want to sell globally
00:57:59And you're never going to walk
00:58:01Into any store
00:58:02And be able to sell something
00:58:04Sheer off the bat
00:58:05It's always going to be
00:58:06Your hardest seller
00:58:07So what I would like to know
00:58:09Now from the judges
00:58:09Is have you changed your minds
00:58:12No
00:58:13No
00:58:14No
00:58:14No
00:58:15Jasmine
00:58:17I'm sorry
00:58:21You're not making the cut
00:58:23I really feel like
00:58:28You have not
00:58:28Given the woman justice
00:58:30That you wanted to dress here
00:58:32You know
00:58:32Hearing your story
00:58:33And we do believe
00:58:35In your brand's message
00:58:36So I hope that you still
00:58:37Will go full force forward
00:58:39With it
00:58:39Thank you so much
00:58:41Jasmine
00:58:46We know you've got it in you
00:58:48And we'll hear a lot more
00:58:49From you
00:58:50And see a lot more
00:58:51From you
00:58:51Much love
00:58:52I'm sad to leave
00:58:55Because I feel like
00:58:55We've only just
00:58:56Got him started
00:58:58At the same time
00:58:59I also feel inspired
00:59:00And reinvigorated
00:59:01In the process
00:59:02So designers
00:59:05I guess it's hard
00:59:06To see someone go
00:59:07But as a reminder
00:59:08More than one person
00:59:09Can go at any time
00:59:11Okay Martha
00:59:13I knew it
00:59:15Can you come up here
00:59:16And talk to us
00:59:17Hi
00:59:19We discussed
00:59:21Your brand's snapshot
00:59:22Already
00:59:22We were kind of
00:59:24All over the place
00:59:25Here
00:59:25Not everyone loved
00:59:26What you sent down
00:59:27The runway
00:59:27I want to know
00:59:28How those two looks
00:59:29Represented to you
00:59:30And your brand
00:59:31They were just
00:59:32Bold
00:59:33Out there
00:59:33Colorful
00:59:34Unfinished
00:59:35Girl on the go
00:59:36Like I gotta throw
00:59:37I gotta throw a top
00:59:38One real quick
00:59:38So the unfinished look
00:59:40What that was meant
00:59:41To be
00:59:41That was intentional
00:59:42Intentional in that
00:59:44It had to be that way
00:59:45And it looked great
00:59:46Yeah
00:59:46But a lot of people
00:59:47Could interpret that
00:59:48As not doing your job
00:59:50Properly
00:59:51Right
00:59:51If you put the effort
00:59:52Into making tailored pants
00:59:54You have to put the effort
00:59:55Into the top two
00:59:56So it doesn't really
00:59:57Make a full outfit
00:59:59So I wouldn't feel
01:00:00Comfortable as a consumer
01:00:02To buy that outfit
01:00:03It's not something
01:00:05That I personally
01:00:06Would want to buy
01:00:07But I do feel like
01:00:08I understand
01:00:09Who your girl is
01:00:10So therefore
01:00:11I feel like
01:00:11There's a place
01:00:12In the market here
01:00:13I actually really
01:00:14Liked the jumpsuit
01:00:15I think that it's
01:00:16Very youthful
01:00:18I thought that it was
01:00:18Fun and celebratory
01:00:20And I definitely
01:00:21Knew that you were
01:00:22Making a bold statement
01:00:23And think that
01:00:24That's so important
01:00:24Especially when
01:00:25Building your brand
01:00:27When you have an idea
01:00:28You have to go
01:00:28Very strong about it
01:00:31And I think
01:00:33I would love to have
01:00:33More fantasy
01:00:34Because I think
01:00:35This is your world
01:00:36And I think
01:00:37You have to push it more
01:00:38And I think
01:00:38It's a bit like
01:00:39Missing
01:00:40Not to go all the way
01:00:41Seeing you today
01:00:43I almost wish
01:00:44You had committed more
01:00:47The second look
01:00:48Unfortunately
01:00:49It just felt
01:00:51It felt a little sad
01:00:53It didn't feel like
01:00:54You were committing
01:00:56As much to
01:00:56That language
01:00:58Right
01:00:59But the
01:01:00Pants with the bandeau
01:01:01I mean I feel like
01:01:02You could mix that
01:01:03With a bunch of
01:01:03Different stuff
01:01:04It's just so flattering
01:01:05On so many different shapes
01:01:06I loved my looks
01:01:08They were fun
01:01:08They were street style
01:01:09And I stand behind them
01:01:11Okay
01:01:12Have any of you
01:01:14Changed your mind?
01:01:16No
01:01:16Nicole?
01:01:20No
01:01:20Joseph?
01:01:25No
01:01:26What do you think
01:01:28Naomi?
01:01:29No
01:01:29Okay
01:01:31Martha?
01:01:41Congratulations
01:01:42You're making the cut
01:01:43What?
01:01:45You remain in the competition
01:01:47Oh my god
01:01:48Oh you guys are so nice
01:01:51Thank you
01:01:52Come on Martha
01:01:54Thank you
01:01:54Mind blown
01:01:56I'm like really
01:01:57Really happy about
01:01:58Making the cut
01:01:58If I were to go home
01:02:00I would be devastated
01:02:01For sure
01:02:02Because there is so much
01:02:03At stake here
01:02:03I want to see this through
01:02:05Just to show my kids
01:02:06Follow your dreams
01:02:07And follow them passionately
01:02:09Don't give up
01:02:09Criticism is hard
01:02:10But I welcome the feedback
01:02:12At this point
01:02:13Because it will just
01:02:14Make me better
01:02:14Gee come to us please
01:02:18Hi guys
01:02:22Hi
01:02:22Love that jumpsuit
01:02:24This is one of my designs
01:02:26I've shown my own collection
01:02:28At New York Fashion Week
01:02:29Last September
01:02:30You mean to swing berries
01:02:31I just did
01:02:32Yep
01:02:33Hitting all the cities
01:02:35Alright tell us about
01:02:37Your brand snapshot
01:02:38I really want to be able
01:02:39To connect my American side
01:02:41And my Korean side
01:02:43And for the first look
01:02:44I took something
01:02:45That is extremely very American
01:02:47Which is that denim
01:02:48Like a classic denim jacket
01:02:49Denim pants
01:02:50And I brought in
01:02:51Design elements
01:02:53From my Korean culture
01:02:54And the second one
01:02:55It's inspired by
01:02:57A very classic Korean hanbok
01:02:59But it's westernized
01:03:00It's modernized
01:03:01And I really try to embody
01:03:03Both cultures
01:03:04I love both of your looks
01:03:07Thank you
01:03:08I also feel like
01:03:09I understand who you are
01:03:10As a designer
01:03:11And I can't wait to see more
01:03:13Thank you so much
01:03:15Honestly I think
01:03:15The first one
01:03:16Was not really
01:03:18Flattering
01:03:19As a silhouette
01:03:20I think for me
01:03:21It was a bit big
01:03:22And I don't like
01:03:22The opening
01:03:23In the legs
01:03:23In the front
01:03:24But I really like
01:03:25The second one
01:03:26I also loved
01:03:27The white dress
01:03:28I want one of those
01:03:30Keep me in mind
01:03:31And I can really see
01:03:32Your vision
01:03:33The black and white one
01:03:35It's not my specific style
01:03:37But I see the young
01:03:38Billie Eilish loving girls
01:03:40Wearing this
01:03:40Thank you
01:03:41My preference is the white and red
01:03:43Because anyone can wear it
01:03:45Yes exactly
01:03:46I put it on female models
01:03:48But I really do believe
01:03:49It can be both genders
01:03:50Like it's not too feminine
01:03:51Or too masculine
01:03:52It's something that's fashionable
01:03:54That's in the trend
01:03:55Thank you so much
01:03:56Debbie
01:03:57Both looks were
01:03:58Really cohesive
01:03:59And I think from
01:04:00What you were talking about
01:04:02From your story
01:04:03I'm really interested
01:04:04Kind of going forward
01:04:05To see
01:04:06How you evolve
01:04:07This language
01:04:08Over time
01:04:09Gee congratulations
01:04:11You are making the cut
01:04:13But before we make
01:04:14Our decision
01:04:15On today's winner
01:04:15We want to speak
01:04:16To another designer
01:04:17Thank you guys so much
01:04:19Okay Esther
01:04:24Will you step up here
01:04:25So we can talk to you
01:04:26My fellow German friend
01:04:29Yeah
01:04:29How you doing
01:04:31Hi
01:04:32Bonjour
01:04:32Good to talk
01:04:33So how have the last couple
01:04:35Of days been for you
01:04:36Very very exhausting
01:04:38Tell us about your issues
01:04:40I haven't seen for 15 years
01:04:42I think
01:04:43So I was really focusing
01:04:45On getting the dress
01:04:46Prepared for the seamstress
01:04:48I handed it in
01:04:49And the next day
01:04:50It was not done
01:04:51So
01:04:52I have to start
01:04:54All over again
01:04:55Then I was sort of
01:04:57Freaking out
01:04:57Do you stay calm
01:04:58When you freak out
01:04:59Or do you freak out
01:04:59Freak out
01:05:00No I didn't freak out
01:05:01Well maybe inside
01:05:02She freaked out or no
01:05:03No
01:05:03She didn't say a word
01:05:04For two days
01:05:05Oh really
01:05:06She didn't say a word
01:05:07For two days
01:05:08I mean what could I do
01:05:09I just said okay
01:05:09Then I just have to do it myself
01:05:11So do tell us
01:05:12How long did it take you
01:05:14To make that dress
01:05:14About two hours
01:05:16I mean this is pretty incredible
01:05:18I think it's a good thing
01:05:21Yeah I love
01:05:22Actually I love
01:05:22It pushes you to a place
01:05:24Out of your comfort zone
01:05:25And you actually can do it now
01:05:27So now you know that
01:05:28Didn't expect that I
01:05:29Could do something like that
01:05:31Actually
01:05:31See sometimes when you get
01:05:33Pushed to the limit
01:05:34And you see also
01:05:35That million dollar sign
01:05:36Right in front of your head
01:05:37That changes things
01:05:38Possibly
01:05:39So alright
01:05:40Tell us about your brand snapshot
01:05:42So my brand is actually
01:05:43About the inspiration
01:05:44Of three different cities
01:05:46The rock and roll
01:05:47The toughness
01:05:48Of Berlin
01:05:49And then the Russian avant-garde
01:05:50Of the 20th
01:05:51Of last century
01:05:52From Moscow
01:05:53And then Paris wear
01:05:54I wanted to be really classy
01:05:56And chic
01:05:57I think you achieved that
01:05:59I think you really did
01:06:01I mean I love both of your looks
01:06:03I like the pants outfit
01:06:05What we saw was amazing
01:06:07It looks like such a specific style
01:06:10Right and you're like
01:06:11I could never dress like that
01:06:12It's very cool
01:06:12I could never do that
01:06:13But I'm like
01:06:14Oh I would wear that
01:06:15If you have an extra one
01:06:17Send it my way
01:06:18I want one too
01:06:19Do you sell some of your clothes
01:06:21Now in stores or
01:06:23I have my own store

01:06:45It's very important
01:06:46In fashion

01:06:49To be a great designer
01:06:50But to be someone
01:06:52That can talk
01:06:53About your collection
01:06:54It was a really strong
01:06:55Presentation
01:06:56And had I not known
01:06:58Any of your
01:06:59Technical issues
01:07:00I wouldn't have been
