00:00So we heard from Canada's Prime Minister there, Mark Carney.
00:04Did you expect Canada, actually fellow Canadian here,
00:09to follow G7 nations and make this announcement
00:13on recognising a Palestinian state possibly in the future?
00:17I didn't think it would happen.
00:18I certainly didn't think it would happen like this.
00:20I think, though, that there's a groundswell within the international community.
00:25The images that people are seeing of Palestinians starving,
00:28I think that has turned and that has inspired Macron a couple of weeks ago
00:34to be the first.
00:36Keir Starmer followed with, again, conditions.
00:40Mark Carney now has come out.
00:41And it surprises me as a Canadian because we are usually very much
00:46in lockstep when it comes to foreign policy with the Americans.
00:51I think the one area where we deviated over the years was our policy with Cuba.
00:55Aside from that, pretty much where the Americans stood,
00:59especially on Israel, the Canadians were consistent.
