00:00Ariel, what's your take on it?
00:03Steps towards a two-state solution have failed in the past.
00:06How does Israel view this current diplomatic push
00:09as being different this time around?
00:11Well, first of all, I would like to counter the claims of genocide
00:15that the previous commentator made.
00:20It's obvious to anyone who has seen a real genocide in the world,
00:25you know, in the Holocaust and in what's going on in Syria
00:27with hundreds of thousands being murdered.
00:30That what's happening in Gaza is a different kind of operation.
00:33And from the Israeli perspective, there is absolutely,
00:37only on the fringes there is any acceptance of a Palestinian state.
00:43So the vast majority of the public in Israel is totally against it,
00:48especially since October 7th.
00:50You could make a case before October 7th there was maybe, you know,
00:54a slightly more support, but now it's very low.
00:57Only the fringe parties, you know, Merit and the far-left parties are supporting it.
01:03And even the left-wing parties in Israel are now against the Palestinian state.
01:08And most importantly, Trump is also against the Palestinian state.
01:12So I don't see that it's even realistic to talk about it.
01:17It's just more kind of the commentators on TV, like us, talking about it,
01:22and the French president and others with little influence what's going on.
01:26So it really doesn't matter what everyone's talking about.
01:30The Palestinian state is not going to happen.
01:32Israel won't let it happen.
01:33The U.S. is not going to let it happen.
01:34And so that's basically the viewpoint from Israel.
01:38The U.S. is not going to let it happen.
