00:00Meanwhile, former Senate President pro-tempore leader Jingoy Estrada, a staunch Duterte ally and anti-impeachment proponent,
00:08hinted of roughly 20 senators backing the Supreme Court's ruling declaring the House's impeachment filing against the 1987 Charter Planned Acts of Defiance
00:18or failure to comply with the High Tribunal's ruling could lead to a constitutional crisis that our Daniel Manalasta sums up in this report.
00:27Some senators have differing opinions regarding the Supreme Court's ruling on Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment case.
00:37For Sen. Kiko Pangilinan, he believes that if a motion for reconsideration is filed by the House of Representatives,
00:45the Supreme Court ruling does not become final until the motion is resolved.
00:50This is Pangilinan's response in light of Senate President pro-tempore Jingoy Estrada's estimate
00:56that the majority of senators want the Senate to abide by the SE's ruling on impeachment.
01:02Sabihin natin, to abide by the ruling.
01:05Ayan, to abide by the ruling.
01:06Mga 19, 19 to 20.
01:09Sa body language nila, pangalawa sa salita nila, malatama naman ko siya.
01:14But Pangilinan said, if 19 or 20 are to abide by the ruling of the SE,
01:20he believes that they should, at the very least, hold in abeyance any vote to dismiss until the MR is resolved.
01:27So the Senate will know exactly what final ruling they have to abide by and respect.
01:51Yes, of course.
01:52While for Senate Minority Leader Tito Soto, perhaps this is Estrada's opinion because most of them have not heard the alleged flaws and questionable points by the SE's decision.
02:05Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva likewise refused to preempt the decision of his colleagues,
02:11saying that August 6 was set because a lot of his colleagues wanted to study furthered the almost 100-page SE decision.
02:20Daniel Manastas from the National TV for a new and better Philippines.
