Scattered storms are in the forecast for the Southeast for the first five days of August.
Transcript
00:00But overall, as we head into tomorrow, we will be watching out for the highest potential severe weather across the Gulf Coast into the southeast.
00:06Large hail, damaging winds, not necessarily quite as widespread as what we've been tracking with the storms today.
00:11It's primarily going to be once again a flooding rainfall.
00:14And as you can see on the right hand side of your screen, a frequent lightning event here as we head throughout this evening.
00:19And as we head into tonight, that's a view from the storms in Tampa.
00:22This was yesterday.
00:24They're out.
00:25So we'll be watching out for that.
00:26The storming pattern will persist across this region, not just tomorrow, not just through the weekend, but even as we head throughout Monday and Tuesday.
00:34So because of that, we're going to see widespread flooding possible here across parts of Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina.
00:41And when we want to look at the overall rainfall amounts that we are forecasting here at AccuWeather, you can see across the Carolina coastal areas, widespread four to eight inch rainfall totals.
00:50And someone out there in this region could see a rain gauge topping a foot of total rainfall, depending on the topography.
00:58We'll be watching out for that and where these heavier bands of rainfall start to line up.
01:02Overall here for your Friday, it's still going to be hot, still going to be humid.
01:05Once again, from Atlanta all the way down through the southern tip of Florida, Atlanta to Miami.
01:09But north of that, we will be watching out for showers and storms.
01:12And these storm chances will also extend far enough west to include central Texas.
01:16So the I-35 corridor from Dallas to Austin, be watching out for that potential as well.
01:20That'll cool things off a little bit there in Texas.
