Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof confirmed that a six-year-old boy whose body was discovered buried in a remote area in Rompin, Jempol, was killed by strangulation with a cable tie, following a post-mortem at Rembau Hospital.

00:11Datuk Ahmad Zafir Mohamed Yusof said the post-mortem examination was conducted at
00:18Rembau Hospital. He said the cause of death was due to strangulation using cable ties,
00:23adding that the medical team estimates that the victim died between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. on July
00:2923. The case is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for Murder as well as under the
00:37Child Act 2001. Police said the boy's father had earlier lodged a report on the child's disappearance
00:43on July 24, claiming that his son went missing near a coffee shop in Taman Bukit Indah. The father was
00:52later arrested as a suspect. Earlier on Tuesday, police seized a hoe believed to have been used
00:58to bury the body. The body was found buried near a railway line far away from residential areas.
01:05The suspect is still under custody of Johor Police where he will be remanded till July 31.
