00:01A group of Sun Aibulo Green Lane plant nursery operators has obtained leave from the Shah Alam High Court to
00:08begin judicial review proceedings over a notice requiring them to vacate their lots by April 15.
00:15The 13 applicants are challenging a March 16 notice issued by the Pataling District and Land Office under Section 425
00:24of the National Land Code 1965.
00:27The matter was heard in chambers before High Court Judge Justice Nakunavati Sundaresan.
00:34Their lawyer, Rajinder Singh Gurdev Singh, says they are seeking to quash the notice, arguing it is unlawful to label
00:42them trespassers and are also applying for a stay to maintain the status quo pending the case.
00:49He said the operators were informed that the state government had agreed not to demolish the lots until August 31,
00:57though there is no written confirmation.
00:59The Attorney General's chambers did not object to the leave application.
01:04On March 16, operators occupying 66 lots along Jalan Sungai Bulo were ordered to vacate within 30 days to make
01:12way for an elevated road linked to the Kwasadamansara development.
01:16The Selangor government offered a 10,000 ringgit ex-gratia payment, but 14 of 54 affected operators rejected it as
01:26insufficient.
01:28The High Court fixed May 15 for the stay application and May 20 for case management.
01:35Outside the court, operators said the extension only offers temporary relief.
01:40Hugh Hon-yung said there is still no long-term solution, while Jay Lee said they are not refusing to
01:46move but need a viable relocation plan.
01:50Earlier, Selangor Infrastructure and Agriculture Committee Chairman Datuk Izam Hashim was reported as saying the operators would need approximately 10
01:59million ringgit to prepare their allocated land in Bukit Changgang,
02:04excluding infrastructure costs, an amount operators say is beyond their means.
02:09Mohamed Shohaimi Abdullah said the extension until August 31 had provided some relief, but stressed that more time alone would
02:18not resolve their relocation concerns.
