00:01Have you ever found yourself wondering, after years of following a spiritual path, years
00:06spent in prayer, in meditation, in sincere devotion to God, why you still haven't experienced
00:12the kind of deep, divine transformation your soul longs for?
00:16Why haven't you touched that sacred bliss, that complete union with the divine that you
00:21have so desperately sought through all your spiritual efforts?
00:24Do you ever feel that something somewhere might be missing?
00:27Paramahansa Yogananda, the great spiritual teacher, once said that during his lifetime
00:34he had encountered countless sincere seekers, people whose devotion, discipline, and heartfelt
00:40longing for the divine were genuine and inspiring.
00:44But even among these dedicated individuals, he observed a recurring blind spot.
00:49They were doing all the right things outwardly, sitting for meditation, praying with fervor.
00:54But many were overlooking one vital piece of the puzzle.
00:58They had begun to believe that the practice of meditation was only about sitting in silence,
01:03closing the eyes, and attempting to dive within.
01:06But this is a partial truth at best.
01:10Before we begin, if you are ready and focused to enter the depth of this matter, comment,
01:15I am focused.
01:16Yogananda reminds us that the essence of our spiritual evolution is deeply connected to how
01:22we live every moment of the day, how we speak to others, how we treat those around us, the
01:28gentleness or harshness of our words, and the softness or sharpness in our behavior.
01:32You might not realize it, but the energy you build up during your meditative practice can
01:39quietly slip away through the cracks of your daily actions, especially through the way
01:43you speak and relate to others.
01:45That sacred force, that stillness you try to cultivate on the meditation cushion, can be
01:51drained by a single moment of anger, sarcasm, or insensitivity.
01:55Yogananda often emphasized the tremendous power hidden in our words.
02:00Our speech holds the potential to lift us to the highest states of spiritual awareness
02:04or to cast us into inner confusion and suffering.
02:08Today, let's explore this profound wisdom and learn how just changing the way we speak
02:14and behave can radically accelerate our journey toward God.
02:18Let us begin with a universal law that governs all life, the law of karma.
02:24Just as a sound sent toward a mountain echoes back to us, every thought, word, and action
02:30we release into the world returns to us in some form.
02:33It's much like the principle of sowing seeds and reaping harvests.
02:38When you plant a tiny seed, you don't just get a single fruit, you receive many.
02:42That's the nature of life.
02:44What you give, you receive multiplied.
02:46So if you desire joy, sow joy in the lives of others.
02:49If you long for respect, learn to honor others genuinely.
02:53If you wish to be uplifted, begin by uplifting those around you.
02:57And yes, if you plant seeds of bitterness, gossip, or harm, even in small ways,
03:03you will eventually face the bitter fruit of your own doing.
03:06This is not just karma.
03:07It's also the law of divine justice.
03:10Whatever you plant, that is what you shall reap.
03:13Yogananda taught that our speech is a sacred tool,
03:17capable of inviting God's grace into our lives.
03:19When we speak with kindness, with love, with sincerity,
03:23we are not merely communicating.
03:26We are creating a vibration that nourishes our inner being,
03:29just like rain feeds the roots of a tree.
03:32Gentle and thoughtful speech purifies our mind,
03:36refines our intellect,
03:37and creates an atmosphere of peace around us.
03:40Such speech attracts divine blessings,
03:42and when divine blessings enter our life through our words,
03:46how can we not be transformed?
03:49This kind of language brings joy not only to ourselves,
03:52but to those who hear us and even to the larger world.
03:56True speech, spoken with love and integrity,
03:59has the power to reveal the truth in its highest form.
04:02Yogananda strongly warned us,
04:06Never let your words be used as weapons.
04:08Never speak in a way that injures, degrades, or humiliates someone.
04:12Even if you think you are speaking a truth,
04:15if your tone is filled with bitterness or cruelty,
04:18it becomes a distorted truth,
04:20one that loses its power and is difficult for others to accept.
04:24Harsh words are like poison arrows.
04:26They sink deep into the heart and cause wounds that no time can truly heal.
04:30A tree cut by an axe may grow new leaves,
04:34but a heart wounded by cruel speech often stays broken for a long time.
04:39So guard your tongue.
04:41Let no word of hatred, cruelty, or humiliation leave your lips.
04:45If your speech causes unrest,
04:47if it inflames anger or sadness in others,
04:49then you are unknowingly walking towards spiritual darkness.
04:53Always remember that the quality of your speech
04:55reflects the purity of your inner mind,
04:58and Yogananda would add,
04:59Sweetness alone is not enough.
05:02Wisdom must accompany it.
05:04Wisdom in speech means knowing when to speak,
05:07what to say, and how to say it.
05:09A pleasant voice at the wrong moment
05:11is just as unhelpful as harsh words at the right moment.
05:14Imagine someone giving a light-hearted talk
05:16during a serious emergency.
05:19It creates confusion rather than comfort.
05:22Timing matters.
05:23The energy behind your words matters.
05:25Even Lord Rama, the embodiment of divine virtue,
05:29was deeply mindful of this.
05:31He was careful never to hurt anyone with his words.
05:34His speech was measured, appropriate, and always kind,
05:38even in challenging situations.
05:40He mastered the art of saying what needed to be said
05:43in a way that uplifted, not wounded.
05:46So before you speak, pause and ask,
05:50How will this make the other person feel?
05:52Will these words add peace or take it away?
05:55Suppose a servant shows up late to work.
05:58Instead of scolding them,
05:59you might say with a gentle smile,
06:02You're usually very punctual.
06:03is something different today.
06:06That small act of compassion
06:08can open hearts and keep relationships intact.
06:11It's not just what you say,
06:13it's how you say it
06:13that determines whether your words heal or hurt.
06:18Humility and compassion in speech
06:20allow you to express even your most sincere thoughts
06:23without hurting anyone.
06:25Especially within your own family,
06:28remember that you are not talking to machines
06:30or lifeless objects.
06:31You are speaking to living beings,
06:34each with emotions,
06:35with hearts that feel just as deeply as yours.
06:38Speak with respect to your elders.
06:40Be warm and supportive to those your age,
06:43and be tender, gentle,
06:45and encouraging to those younger than you.
06:48Such balanced and loving behavior
06:50creates miracles in the home
06:52and in your spiritual life.
06:55Breaking someone's heart is a far greater sin
06:57than stealing money or destroying a home.
06:59Why?
07:00Because the heart is the dwelling place of God.
07:04When we wound someone emotionally,
07:06we interfere with something sacred.
07:08This is why we must always choose love over criticism,
07:11especially in our closest relationships.
07:14If a husband dislikes the food on the table,
07:17let him respond with gentle honesty.
07:19And if the wife promises to improve with love,
07:22peace is preserved.
07:23If a child scores poorly in school
07:26and the father responds with encouragement instead of shame,
07:29the child is likely to grow in confidence and strive harder.
07:32In both cases,
07:35love becomes the glue that holds the family together.
07:38The language of love dissolves judgment,
07:41brings people closer,
07:42and replaces blame with understanding.
07:44What we say in the workplace matters just as much.
07:48Whether you're running a business,
07:50managing a team,
07:51or dealing with a client,
07:53sweetness and compassion lead to success.
07:56Imagine a dissatisfied customer coming to return a product.
07:59If the shopkeeper responds rudely,
08:02the customer leaves forever.
08:04But if he says gently,
08:06No problem at all.
08:07Let me show you something else you might like.
08:10That same customer becomes loyal for life.
08:13Even when dealing with employees or team members,
08:16a request phrased with respect,
08:18Would you mind helping with this task?
08:20inspires dedication and excellence.
08:23Harsh orders may get the job done,
08:25but they kill the spirit of the worker.
08:28Gentle speech elevates it.
08:30That little shift in tone
08:31can make all the difference in the outcome.
08:34In conversation,
08:35focus on the other person,
08:37not yourself.
08:39True leadership does not showcase ego.
08:41A good leader takes responsibility for failure
08:44and shares credit for success.
08:46Such leaders genuinely care about their team's well-being,
08:50acknowledge their strengths,
08:51and offer support where needed.
08:53When people feel valued and supported,
08:56they work not just with skill but with heart.
08:58Where there's harmony,
08:59there is triumph.
09:00Where there's discord,
09:02even the best tools and talent fail.
09:05So let sweetness and compassion
09:06be the foundation of your work life as well.
09:10This will bring both material and spiritual rewards.
09:13Swamiji also explains
09:14that some people's words seem to instantly inspire others,
09:18while others always meet resistance,
09:21no matter how logical or correct they may be.
09:24The secret lies in the speaker's internal state.
09:27Those who radiate peace,
09:28who live with joy in their hearts,
09:30naturally attract cooperation.
09:32Their calm presence dissolves resistance.
09:35And where does this inner calm come from?
09:37From daily meditation,
09:39sincere remembrance of the divine
09:41and the company of spiritually evolved souls.
09:44A calm heart speaks differently.
09:47Its words carry weight, warmth, and power.
09:50In contrast,
09:51people who are constantly agitated
09:53as if they've only ever tasted bitterness
09:55generate resistance even before they open their mouth.
09:58Their inner restlessness infects their speech
10:01and others instinctively push back.
10:05If you want your work to succeed
10:06and your relationships to thrive,
10:08you must first learn how to create stillness
10:10and joy within yourself.
10:13Only words spoken from a place of calm and joy
10:15can inspire others to follow and collaborate.
10:19That's the only path that leads to true success.
10:22Words spoken in anger, fear, or irritation
10:24may have volume, but they lack soul.
10:28Yogananda asks us to discard the illusion
10:30that without shouting or threatening,
10:33our loved ones or co-workers won't listen.
10:35In reality, the opposite is true.
10:38Love, not fear, transforms hearts.
10:40You cannot win people's hearts
10:42through fear, harshness, or manipulation.
10:45When you use scolding, threats, or cunning behavior
10:48to try and control someone,
10:50you don't bring them closer.
10:51You drive them away.
10:53You don't create a bond.
10:55You create a wall.
10:56You may gain their obedience,
10:59but you lose their soul.
11:00You may secure their outward cooperation,
11:03but you forfeit their inner affection.
11:06When fear becomes the glue of a relationship,
11:08it always ends up cracking.
11:10The bond breaks the moment fear is removed,
11:13and you are left with distance,
11:15resentment, and mistrust.
11:17If you genuinely want someone to walk beside you,
11:20not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually,
11:22then the true path is not through control,
11:26but through compassion,
11:27not through dominance, but through devotion.
11:30Love is the only real force
11:32that makes someone truly yours.
11:34It is love, not fear,
11:36that opens hearts and sustains relationships
11:38through all storms of life.
11:40It is through selfless love,
11:42through compassion,
11:43that doesn't ask for anything in return,
11:46through respect that honors the divine in every soul,
11:48that you create eternal bonds.
11:51A gentle word spoken at the right time,
11:54a sincere smile shared in someone's pain,
11:57an act of kindness without any agenda,
11:59these are the gestures that plant seeds
12:01of lifelong loyalty and affection.
12:04Include in your being the qualities of sweetness
12:06in your speech,
12:07helpfulness in your actions,
12:09the willingness to sacrifice when needed,
12:11and the ability to make space
12:13for someone else's pain.
12:14These qualities, though seemingly small,
12:17are powerful beyond imagination.
12:20They are divine forces
12:21that have the ability to transform
12:23not only you,
12:24but the world around you.
12:26A person who embodies these traits
12:28becomes like a magnet.
12:30Others are naturally drawn to them,
12:32eager to stand by them,
12:34ready to make even the greatest sacrifices
12:36out of pure love.
12:38This kind of respect
12:39is not something temporary.
12:41It's not the kind of fame
12:42that fades with time
12:43or depends on social media followers.
12:46It becomes embedded
12:47in the hearts of people you touch.
12:49You earn a sacred place in their lives,
12:52not because of your wealth,
12:53talent, or success,
12:54but because of how you made them feel,
12:57because of the kindness
12:58they received from you
12:59when they needed it most.
13:01This connection gives rise
13:02to true happiness,
13:04the kind that no external success can match.
13:07It radiates in you
13:08and uplifts everyone you meet.
13:10Your presence becomes
13:11a source of comfort.
13:12People breathe easier around you.
13:15They feel seen,
13:16heard,
13:17and understood.
13:18Be kind to everyone.
13:20Approach the world
13:21with humility and compassion.
13:24Understand that every single person
13:25you encounter
13:26is fighting battles
13:27you cannot see.
13:29There are struggles beneath the surface
13:30that you might never imagine.
13:33People carry heartbreak,
13:34fear,
13:35insecurity,
13:36and grief
13:36that they may not express.
13:38Let this awareness inspire you
13:40to respond not with judgment
13:41but with warmth.
13:42Even when someone wrongs you,
13:44strive to meet their anger with calm,
13:46their bitterness with peace,
13:48and their cruelty with understanding.
13:50Not for pride,
13:51not to seem better,
13:53but because that is what transforms the soul.
13:56Swallow your ego.
13:57Step over your selfish needs
13:59when the greater good is at stake,
14:01and in doing so,
14:02you will see how the universe
14:03responds in kind.
14:06What you give
14:06is always returned.
14:08Speak love
14:08and you will be spoken to with love.
14:11Share peace
14:11and you will be surrounded by peace.
14:14Release fear
14:15and cruelty
14:16and you will find
14:18those energies
14:19leaving your life as well.
14:21Let go of the harshness,
14:22the fear,
14:23the need to dominate.
14:25Replace them with softness,
14:27patience,
14:28and empathy.
14:29Swamiji reminds us again,
14:31shift your perception.
14:33Begin to look at others
14:34not through the lens of suspicion
14:35or judgment,
14:36but with the clear,
14:37kind eyes of love.
14:39Love is not weakness.
14:41In fact,
14:41it is the strongest force on earth.
14:43It is the essential food
14:44for the human soul.
14:46The world isn't starving
14:47for information.
14:49It is starving for love.
14:51And it is up to each of us
14:52to offer our share
14:53of that divine nourishment.
14:55So don't keep the divine love
14:56buried inside your heart.
14:58It wasn't given to you
14:59to hoard.
15:00Let it pour out.
15:02Be generous with it.
15:03Don't withhold affection
15:04because someone disappointed you.
15:06Don't shrink your heart
15:08because someone failed
15:08your expectations.
15:10Love anyway.
15:12Give anyway.
15:13Trust again.
15:14Because the world
15:15desperately needs
15:16that energy.
15:17The love hiding in your heart
15:18has the power to heal.
15:21The compassion you hold back
15:22might be the very thing
15:23someone else is praying for.
15:25The person who lives
15:26without love and compassion
15:27is not just incomplete.
15:30They become a burden
15:31on the world.
15:32They add to its sorrow,
15:34not its healing.
15:35But the one who lives
15:36with a heart full of kindness
15:37becomes a blessing
15:38wherever they go.
15:39They carry light
15:41into dark places.
15:42They become a mirror
15:43through which others
15:44can remember
15:44their own inner goodness.
15:46Therefore,
15:47awaken that higher love
15:49within you.
15:50Nurture it.
15:51Let it expand.
15:52And do not let it
15:53discriminate between people.
15:55Share it with friends,
15:56strangers,
15:57even those who oppose you.
15:59Let its pure current
16:01flow
16:01without interruption.
16:04In doing so,
16:05you will experience
16:06a happiness
16:06that no possession
16:07can offer,
16:08a peace that no situation
16:10can disturb.
16:11Your spiritual growth
16:12will accelerate
16:13in ways that will
16:14amaze you.
16:15Because the more
16:16you give love,
16:17the closer you move
16:18to becoming one
16:19with the source
16:20of all love,
16:21God himself.
16:23At this turning point
16:24in your journey,
16:25engrave one truth
16:26deep within.
16:27All the beauty
16:28in your speech,
16:29all the spiritual force
16:31in your words,
16:32becomes meaningful
16:33only when it is born
16:34from a heart
16:34that genuinely cares
16:36for the welfare of others.
16:38Words without sincerity
16:39are like flowers
16:40without fragrance.
16:42Sweet words
16:42used to manipulate
16:43or exploit
16:44are a misuse
16:45of sacred energy.
16:47Such words
16:47may charm for a moment,
16:49but they do not transform.
16:50They are empty echoes,
16:52not healing vibrations.
16:54Yogananda warned us clearly,
16:56speech that lacks
16:56integrity and authenticity
16:58cannot lead you to God.
17:00You may come across
17:01people who wear
17:02the mask of charm
17:03and sweetness
17:04only to manipulate others
17:05for personal gain.
17:07They may fool others
17:08temporarily,
17:09they may achieve
17:10superficial success,
17:12but in the long run
17:13they fall into
17:13a darker place,
17:15a spiritual abyss
17:16from which it becomes
17:17harder to return.
17:19Their gains are short-lived
17:20and their hearts
17:21remain empty.
17:23And now, dear seeker,
17:25listen closely
17:25to one final truth.
17:27This truth has the power
17:29to elevate your decades
17:30of spiritual practice
17:31or render them fruitless.
17:33Many believe that God
17:34can only be found
17:35in closed eyes
17:36and silent corners.
17:39But Swamiji urges us
17:40to awaken
17:40to a deeper realization.
17:43Real spirituality
17:44doesn't begin and end
17:45in meditation alone.
17:47Real yoga,
17:48true divine practice,
17:50is alive in your every word,
17:52in your every interaction,
17:54in how you treat others
17:55through the 24 hours
17:56of your day.
17:58Your speech is not merely
17:59a vibration of sound.
18:01It holds within it
18:01the potential to create
18:03and to destroy.
18:05It can heal
18:06or harm,
18:07bless,
18:08or curse.
18:10Yogananda once said
18:11that your speech
18:11is like a powerful bomb.
18:13It can either blow away
18:14obstacles on your spiritual path
18:16or, if used recklessly,
18:18it can shatter the very peace
18:20you've tried to cultivate.
18:22When your words are fueled
18:23by truth,
18:24honesty,
18:25unwavering faith,
18:27and selfless intention,
18:29they become the wind
18:30that fans your deepest prayers.
18:32But when they carry
18:33the stench of pride,
18:34manipulation,
18:35or anger,
18:36they sabotage your progress.
18:38They quietly drain
18:39the spiritual energy
18:40you've worked so hard
18:42to gather.
18:43Your behavior
18:44reflects your inner world.
18:46Ask yourself,
18:47do you see the same
18:49divine presence
18:49in all living beings,
18:51not just in saints
18:52or spiritual friends,
18:54but in the eyes
18:55of a stranger,
18:56in the heart
18:56of someone difficult,
18:58in the innocence
18:59of an animal?
18:59If your love and kindness
19:01are reserved only
19:02for a select few,
19:03then you are still
19:04bound by ego.
19:06But every kind word
19:07spoken with truth,
19:08every compassionate action
19:10free from self-interest,
19:11draws you closer to God.
19:13Every careless insult
19:15or cold behavior
19:16strengthens the chains
19:17of ego and karma
19:18around you.
19:19This is not just about
19:20social politeness,
19:21it's about inner purification.
19:23It is about aligning
19:24your words,
19:25actions,
19:26and heart
19:27with the divine.
19:28This is true yoga.
19:31So, dear seeker,
19:31don't wait.
19:32Begin now.
19:33Let your daily life
19:34be your highest
19:35spiritual laboratory.
19:37In your speech,
19:38your compassion,
19:39and your behavior
19:40lies the greatest
19:41spiritual weapon.
19:43With it,
19:43you can defeat
19:44inner enemies.
19:45Anger,
19:46arrogance,
19:46apathy,
19:47and selfishness.
19:48This is your true
19:49battleground,
19:50not the world outside,
19:52but the battlefield
19:53within you.
19:54The Dharma Kshetra,
19:56the Kuru Kshetra,
19:56the war between light
19:58and shadow
19:58that unfolds every day
20:00in your own heart
20:01and mind.
20:02When you master this path,
20:04when every word
20:04that leaves your lips
20:05becomes like nectar,
20:07when every action
20:08becomes a love offering,
20:09you will no longer
20:10seek miracles
20:11outside yourself.
20:13The light of divine
20:14consciousness within you
20:15will rise,
20:16like the sun emerging
20:18from behind clouds,
20:19and you will finally
20:20behold your eternal
20:21oneness with God,
20:23your true essence,
20:24your eternal identity,
20:26that which you have
20:27longed to remember
20:27since the day
20:28you were born.
20:29This is the way.
20:31It may seem simple,
20:32but it is more powerful
20:33than any ritual,
20:35more complete
20:35than any doctrine.
20:37Walk this path,
20:38and you will turn
20:39your human life
20:40into a radiant blessing.
20:42And so,
20:43the greatest battle
20:43we fight is not
20:44with the outside world,
20:46but with the illusions
20:47crafted by our own mind.
20:49The mind can be
20:50a divine servant,
20:51but a dangerous master.
20:52It paints fears
20:54where there are none.
20:56It projects past wounds
20:57onto present moments.
20:59It fixates on illusions
21:00and chases shadows,
21:01while the truth
21:02sits silently within us,
21:04untouched.
21:06But if we begin
21:06to see the mind
21:07not as the self,
21:09but as a tool,
21:10if we can gently observe
21:11its tantrums
21:12and question its narratives,
21:14something shifts.
21:16A space opens up.
21:19In that space,
21:20we realize,
21:21I am not my thoughts.
21:22I am not my fears.
21:24I am the one who watches.
21:26And that watcher,
21:27pure, present, aware,
21:29is closer to the truth
21:30than anything the mind
21:31could ever fabricate.
21:33This is not about
21:34fighting the mind.
21:35It is about
21:36seeing through it,
21:38about smiling at its stories
21:39without getting caught.
21:41And when we do,
21:42we begin to wake up
21:43from the dream.
21:44Yogananda often said,
21:45still the mind
21:46and the soul
21:47will speak.
21:49For beyond the
21:50restless waves of thought
21:51lies the ocean of peace.
21:53That peace
21:54is not something we attain.
21:56It is who we already are
21:57once the noise settles.
21:59So take a deep breath.
22:01Let go of the chase.
22:02And remember,
22:03you are not here
22:04to fix the mind.
22:05You are here
22:06to rise above its games,
22:07to remember your essence,
22:09and to live
22:09from that quiet,
22:10luminous truth.
22:12Observe your thoughts,
22:13but do not become them.
22:15Use the mind,
22:17but do not let it use you.
22:19And slowly,
22:20lovingly,
22:21awaken.
