Glowing Rocks Light Up Lake Superior In Night Treasure Hunt

Watch as a rare fluorescent treasure hunt unfolds on the shores of Lake Superior where ordinary rocks hide a dazzling secret under UV light.  Erik Rintamaki, a tour guide from Michigan, USA, takes viewers along on an after-dark adventure as he and David, 65, scan the beach with UV flashlights in search of Yooperlites, glowing rocks that have become a worldwide sensation.  These fluorescent stones, made of nepheline syenite rich in sodalite, were carried by ancient glaciers from Ontario’s Coldwell Complex and now light up like neon under ultraviolet beams.
