00:00Hello! So today we are going to the south side. We are going to Galabi, an independent film lab,
00:09to drop off some film to get processed. So I've been taking photos of my film camera.
00:17I got this one from Vintage Horizons in the Galaga. I got it a couple of weeks ago so I've
00:27got a roll of film that needs developed. I believe it's the only photo developer in Glasgow.
00:33They're absolutely brilliant though. Their turnaround time is so speedy and it's very
00:38high quality. They aren't actually open today but I am going to go and drop it in their little
00:43drop box. You just need to fill out a form online and then put your name and your number
00:50on the envelope that they provide. And then just put it in the box and see what happens.
00:58Their current turnaround time for colour is two days. I think for black and white it is
01:02maybe a week. So in preparation I am filling out this form online. So there's a number of
01:09places in the city that you can drop off your film. There are drop off points and then they
01:14will courier it to transfer it to Galabi. So in the west end there's Draw Art Store. In the city
01:21centre there's Good Press. Also in the city centre there's Paints and Mortar and Ripe Mags. Ripe Mags
01:29is located inside Sister Midnight. And then in Edinburgh there's stills.
01:34Then take the first right onto Alexandra Parade.
01:47So it has been two hours and I have received a link saying my photos are ready. So I paid
01:53the £8 and now I am going to have a look at them. Two hours is insane. But let's have
01:59a look anyway. I'm hoping they turn out well. Because the thing is about film, it's the beauty
02:06of film. You can't see the picture when you take it. We're so used to doing that with our
02:12iPhones and with cameras. Everything's digitalised. It's instant. That is kind of the thing though
02:18with analogue technology. And it is quite nice to just slow down and do things like take pictures
02:27very intentionally. And then when they come out sometimes they're imperfect. They've got
02:34little flaws on them. Maybe the film was slightly damaged or like a light got in or you put it
02:41on the wrong setting or it wasn't in focus. And you can't tell at the time. That's what
02:46I really enjoy about film anyway.
02:48So I am thrilled with how these turned out. They're from The Badas at the weekend. It was
02:52pride on. So it was all chaotic and busy. Wonderful. And then also a recent trip to Limerick.
