00:00Welcome back to the 7 o'clock show. Stop putting me off! We are live with you until 8 o'clock. I know your eyes are not deceiving you. This hottie beside me is not Martin King, it is Simon Delaney!
00:13Stop it, stop it, a hottie. Did you know that I'm actually Martin King's stunt double?
00:18You wish, you wish.
00:19When he decided to take the weekend off to spend time in his yacht in Barabay, I was the obvious choice.
00:25Yes, now we've got some little bit of work to do, we can't go on the total dust. We've got a great show planned for you guys, we have former Westlife legend Marcus Speedy is in to exclusively chat to us two.
00:35The happy pair, aka David and Stephen Flame will be in the kitchen to give us their healthy version of your Friday night take away.
00:42Yes, and there's no meat, you know this, it's vegetarian, so don't forget it.
00:44I was told that 15 minutes ago.
00:46David Acterson will be kicking off the Gadgets, bringing us this week's best tech.
00:50And you did this bit for me didn't you? Yes.
00:52Yes, because Richard Chambers will be in to bring us the relevant of his biggest sporting action this week.
00:58But we are not done yet, we also want to hear from you guys at home. Get in touch with your questions for Marcus Speedy, for Simon or for the happy pair as well.
01:05And because it's Friday we want to know what you guys are getting up to for the weekend, so do let us know.
01:09And here's how you can get in touch.
01:11This is what happens when your friends join you on the show.
01:27Now you can breathe. How are you doing? I haven't seen you since you were in blue lycra in the Olympia.
01:32The last time we met, yes, I was wearing a blue onesie, appearing as the genie in Aladdin.
01:38That was great. That was hard work, because you kind of missed your Christmas, really.
01:41Yeah, big time.
01:42It was a bit strange, so I was doing that.
01:44And what's been taking most of my time is I set up a couple of new production companies late last year.
01:48Okay.
01:49One is a media production company, so we're doing everything, TV commercials, corporate profiles.
01:53So we've got an office. I actually go to an office every morning.
01:56You've kind of matured.
01:57Very sad. I've got a job.
01:58You've got a job.
01:59Thank God.
02:00That is such a strange feeling for an actor, particularly me.
02:03Yes.
02:04Right, shall we carry on? Does that say Simon Reeves?
02:07Shit.
02:08Just stamp your feet when it's going to go.
02:09Okay.
02:10Now, part of the writer for me doing this show tonight was that I get fed.
02:13And tonight, doing the honours, is David and Stephen Flynn, a.k.a. the Happy Parent Lads.
02:18Yay!
02:21Woohoo!
02:22You're making a vegetarian karma.
02:24For me?
02:25Why?
02:26Why?
02:27What is it?
02:28Why is there no meat?
02:30And we feel like just something different for you, isn't it?
02:32Yes.
02:33Mmm.
02:34You're delicious.
02:35So, Korma, like, it can be really saucy, and it's really all about the sauce.
02:38It's not about whether it's got chicken in it. Ours has got sweet potato.
02:41We've got butter beans, and it's a coconut-based dish.
02:43It sounds delicious.
02:44Yeah.
02:45You're in for a treat.
02:46It takes me 30 minutes to make, so really simple.
02:47Lovely, Joby.
02:48And you're also going to help our viewers at home if they're struggling.
02:50Yeah, if anyone has any questions with cooking, or health, or anything, whatever.
02:54We should hear from them.
02:55Or, like, Stephen's new shirt, any questions at all, where we'd love to answer any of them.
02:59Any Korma-related disasters will be answered tonight.
03:02Yes.
03:03Loving your shirt.
03:04Thank you, boys.
03:05Now, our guest this evening shot to stardom with Westlife, where he broke many hearts,
03:09including mine and yours.
03:10And mine.
03:11When the band split up in 2012, but after spending the last two years writing and recording,
03:15he's launching his solo career with a new single called Love Is The Drug.
03:19Would you please welcome Marcus Feeley.
03:21Hello!
03:22Hi, guys.
03:24Love is a drug, by the way.
03:26A drug.
03:27Love is a drug.
03:28A drug.
03:29I told you this in the video.
03:30We don't listen.
03:31Now, people at home are going to think we're so strange calling you Marcus rather than Marcus.
03:34So, just explain that we haven't lost the plot.
03:36No.
03:37Well, no.
03:38You can call me whatever you like, to be honest.
03:39Either or, it doesn't bother me.
03:40Like, Marcus is my real name or whatever, you know, my full name.
03:43Yes.
03:44It has been since I was born, so.
03:46Okay.
03:47So, I'll let you use it.
03:48It's not like I've changed my mind.
03:49I haven't done, like, you know, a J-Lo thing where I'm completely...
03:50That's such a great answer.
03:51Why are people calling you Marcus?
03:52Because it's my name.
03:53It's literally my name.
03:54How about your name is March?
03:56Yeah, I know.
03:57No, honestly, it's not a serious thing.
03:58Like, it doesn't bother me whatever people call me or whatever.
04:00It's just sort of like officially, say, on my album and stuff like that and it's Marcus.
04:05Yes.
04:06And now that we're friends of yours, we can call you Sparky.
04:08Sparky.
04:09Many people do.
04:10Yeah.
04:11Okay, good.
04:12Let's get to know.
04:13Sparky and see if we get away with it.
04:14I don't think we will.
04:15Okay.
04:16Stick to Marcus.
04:17Now, talk to us.
04:18You've been a busy boy three years ago and we've said you broke our hearts and the nations.
04:22Sorry.
04:23But you've been so busy since then.
04:25Yeah, I've been really busy.
04:26I haven't been busy in the public eye but I've been really busy in the studio and stuff
04:29like that.
04:30At the end of Westlife, I just went into the studio and just kind of started writing with
04:33no rule book whatsoever and just kind of to see what would come out, you know.
04:38Yeah.
04:39I kind of almost didn't know what my music was going to sound like, you know.
04:40I didn't go in there saying I wanted to sound like X, Y, or Z.
04:43I just went in and naturally kind of wrote how I write and, you know, I was obviously
04:48writing the song with my own voice, for my own voice.
04:51Mmm.
04:52That was kind of really nice because obviously before that there was a different formula
04:55or whatever.
04:56Yeah.
04:57Then you'd have to kind of stick to writing songs for Westlife.
04:58But you wrote a couple of your choral and a couple of the songs for Westlife.
05:00Yeah, yeah, yeah.
05:01That was a strange process for you, the song.
05:03No, I mean, I've been writing songs, like Cian will tell you, I've been sitting next to
05:06him in, well, I used to sit next to him in school when I was like 14 writing songs.
05:10So I've been writing songs, like, since I was that age.
05:13Yeah.
05:14And, yeah, I just kind of done it sort of behind the scenes a lot in Westlife.
05:17And at the end of Westlife, I did kind of start writing a little bit for Westlife as
05:21well.
05:22But when the band finished, I kind of finally could just write with no rules or whatever,
05:26you know.
05:27Yes.
05:28And that's kind of what the result is now.
05:30Yes, more freedom as well.
05:31Yeah, just no rules, you know.
05:33It was kind of a challenge in enjoying to write songs for Westlife, you know, and try and
05:36kind of keep to the, stick to the formula or whatever.
05:39Yeah, yeah.
05:40But this is just completely, everything, all these songs that I've been writing are, you
05:43know, they're songs about experiences that I've actually had myself.
05:47Yeah.
05:48Yeah, it's been a lot of fun, definitely, you know.
05:51And?
05:52You've been busy with other things, though, as well.
05:54Yeah.
05:55I mean, apart from, you know, concentrating on getting this solo album together, you dipped
05:59into the food business.
06:00Yeah.
06:01Yeah, well...
06:02And where are they?
06:03Don't talk crap.
06:04The thing is, it's not...
06:05So, we have a van.
06:06It's an old, sort of, French citron haze van.
06:08Yeah, that's great.
06:09Such a bad idea.
06:10Yeah, I mean, I love it.
06:11You should have seen it when we bought it.
06:12It was an absolute lump of crap.
06:13Banger.
06:14But we got it refurbished fully or whatever, and it looks gorgeous now.
06:18It's not actually a crap business, though.
06:20It's more, sort of, it's going to be more based around alcohol, actually.
06:23Okay.
06:24No, you're joking.
06:25You're not going to talk.
06:26Everyone's just sharing such a great business van.
06:27Yeah, I know.
06:28I was like, woo!
06:29Yeah.
06:30I'm just going to throw it up outside the door out there.
06:31I'd say we'd sell quite a lot of alcohol.
06:32Yeah, I think you would.
06:33But they won't have enough, don't you worry.
06:35Yeah, so it's going to be more cocktails and Prosecco and stuff like that.
06:38And tapas.
06:39Yeah, maybe.
06:40I mean, it's kind of going to be very versatile, to be honest with you.
06:42The van is kind of the star of the show, and we can kind of do anything, any kind of
06:47advance.
06:48Yeah.
06:49I mean, the various music festivals.
06:50Yeah.
06:51I mean, the music festival kind of thing, literally, it's one of those stories where I've just
06:55been to a lot of music festivals.
06:56Yeah.
06:57And I've seen loads and loads of kind of different, some attempts of vans, some amazing vans, and
07:03it just was something that I kind of, I've always said one day I'd love to do something
07:06like that, you know.
07:07And because I've, you know, I was in the studio a lot, but at the same time, you can't kind of
07:11be in the studio all day every day because you just drain yourself creatively.
07:14Yeah, of course.
07:15So I do other things, you know, I've got other hobbies, other interests and stuff like
07:18that.
07:19But in terms of being in the studio, Marcus, I mean, after being involved in Westlife for
07:23so long and then deciding I'm going to go to the studio myself, what were the actual
07:27differences about going in there on your own, not having four or five other people around
07:32you?
07:33So many bosses and stuff.
07:34Yeah, well, I mean, you know, Westlife, you know, it kind of, it was a big machine, you
07:38know, we had like a massive label in Sony and there was Simon Cowell and Louie Walsh
07:43and, you know, it was a big machine and, you know, all the, yeah, the machine is gone
07:49now.
07:50It's like, it's my own kind of little project or whatever, you know, I've kind of done
07:53everything myself.
07:54I kind of sought out the producers myself at the start and then I met my manager.
07:59It was all very organic how I met my manager and then between us then we kind of put sessions
08:04together and...
08:05So you put a team together but you're in control of that team.
08:08Yeah, I'm kind of driving the ship, if you know what I mean.
08:11It's all coming from me and I suppose, you know, I've kind of, you know, grown up a bit
08:15now and I think I'm ready for that kind of responsibility, you know.
08:17I wouldn't have had a clue how to do any of this when I was 18 or 20 at the start of Westlife
08:21but, you know, it's part of the natural progression of growing up, you know.
08:25You want to take on more responsibility and I also, you know, I just love everything creative,
08:29you know, ever since I was young I love, you know, I love doing up the van for instance
08:34but I love writing songs but I also love planning photo shoots and, you know, video shoots
08:39and anything creative, I mean, you know, just anything, you know.
08:42But you're across everything as opposed to when you were at the band.
08:45Like, you've designed the album cover and you're deciding who's directing the video shoot.
08:49Everything comes from me and that's, you know, for better or worse, you know, that's the case.
08:53But, you know, I really enjoy it.
08:56Yeah, so, I mean, we were, obviously we were allowed, like, the four of us at Westlife really
09:01were in charge of Westlife as well, you know, but this is just me by myself
09:04and it's just a different thing, you know, it's not better or worse, it's just different
09:08and I'm really enjoying it.
09:09Yeah, and it's an exciting future.
09:11Yeah, it's very exciting and I kind of think it's really nice after so long in the music business
09:14and still feel like excited, you know.
09:16Yeah.
09:17I'm jaded by it and I'm really, really excited.
09:19It feels really fresh and that's, I feel lucky to be able to be like that after so long.
09:23Yes.
09:24And I saw on your Twitter account, I always stalk celebrities on Twitter.
09:27Do you?
09:28Only you.
09:29I stalk you.
09:30Yeah, stop doing that because we're friends, you don't need to.
09:31You're just filming.
09:33You get a lot of support from the boys.
09:36I saw Nicky tweeting saying good luck with the sing-on.
09:38Yeah.
09:39Well, in the last 24 hours I've been chatting to all the lads.
09:41Yeah.
09:42Before I came on there, Shane was actually just texting me.
09:44That's nice.
09:45Yeah, it's great.
09:46You know, it's fantastic.
09:47I mean, I think some people kind of probably in their heads twisted kind of things that
09:52have been said recently in the press.
09:54You know, like if one of the lads said, we don't see much of each other or whatever,
09:59straight away I was like, oh, then I'll see each other.
10:01Yeah.
10:02Some people actually would like us to hate each other and they'd like some big fight
10:06or whatever, you know, further entertainment.
10:08But that's just not the case.
10:09I mean, as boring as it is, like, there's no bad blood.
10:12You get on.
10:13Well, you're borderline brothers, aren't you?
10:14You spend so much time with each other.
10:15Yeah.
10:16Well, we always use the saying as the truth.
10:17Like, we spent more time with each other than we spent with our brothers, our families,
10:21you know, ever.
10:22Yeah.
10:23Paper never refused ink, Marcus.
10:24You know, people who write stories about you, they won't refuse it.
10:26Yeah.
10:27But you know, it's all good.
10:28I mean, you know, like the most important thing is we know the truth.
10:31Yeah.
10:32Exactly.
10:33You know, we're not seeing the stories kind of thinking, oh, God, like, is there something
10:35going on that I don't know about?
10:36I know.
10:37I know.
10:38We know how it all works at this stage.
10:39Yeah.
10:40And at the end of the day, we all have our partial strengths.
10:41And no matter what they say, we know ourselves.
10:42Yeah.
10:43Correct.
10:44Now, Marcus is staying with us.
10:45It's your reach.
10:46I was doing it, but then she's very kindly brought along a box, well, not an actual box,
10:52four tickets to go and see him on the 8th of March and the Olympia Theory.
10:56You can go to our Facebook page to be able to have a chance to win those tickets.
10:59Now, keep those comments coming in.
11:00We've had loads already, but if we were to get through them, we would honestly be here
11:03until midnight.
11:04If you want to get in touch, here's how.
11:06You can text the word 7 followed by your message to 53131.
11:10Pop us an email to 7 o'clock show at TV3.ie.
11:13Or find 7 o'clock show on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
11:17All righty, now, as a dedicated technophobe who has spent my entire 38 years of my life
11:24running away from...
11:2538!
11:26Yeah, right!
11:27Oh, 38!
11:28I knew this was a comedy show!
11:30I knew this was a comedy show!
11:31I knew this was a comedy show!
11:32That's me!
11:33We go to this break!
11:34Anyway...
11:3538!
11:36God, I miss Martin.
11:37I've been told that I pretty much have to embrace my inner geek.
11:40I am 38.
11:41I'm going to bring my passport on Monday.
11:42I know, yeah.
11:43Anyway, we have the man to help us do the honours.
11:45We have moved him from Late Lunch Live, not from Choice, but basically he kept on coming.
11:50He couldn't have done that.
11:51So we've given him this gig.
11:52Please welcome, for his very own Gadget Buzz Roundup, Mr David Akersen.
11:57It's the longest read in history.
12:00Now, first of all, David has something to clear up, because since you've last seen him,
12:05he's become a little bit of a celebrity, would I be right?
12:08Something involving the Far East.
12:10Yeah, I went to Thailand, I got a new suit, new shoes, and a new love interest.
12:14So I got in a photo, I photobombed this girl at a 1975 concert, you know, as you do.
12:20As you do, yes.
12:21The Wexford Echo, great journalism there.
12:24So I got in a photo, and basically she was a blogger in Thailand.
12:29Yes.
12:30And she ended up searching for me online.
12:33The people, lovely people, in the journal.ie discovered it.
12:37Yeah.
12:38He and Joe.ie, on the radio, Spin 138, discovered about it.
12:41Got a lot of calls from different websites, and there was a bit of a viral sensation for about three days.
12:45Oh, wow.
12:46That's a real thing.
12:47And he's so modest.
12:48It's like, he's so modest.
12:49He's saying he's a viral sensation.
12:51This is what I mean.
12:52See, he talks himself up and then.
12:54All right.
12:55Well, clearly we're going to be invited to the wedding.
12:56Yeah.
12:57Where is she now?
12:58Where is she now?
12:59You know?
13:00Where is she now?
13:01Where is she now?
13:02Okay, so we've given you your own stuff because you cried in the canteen.
13:05Mm-hmm.
13:06What?
13:07What is actually, come on guys, we're all bad.
13:09That is because it's after my bedtime.
13:11Okay?
13:12Yes, that's true.
13:13It's 6.30, okay?
13:14So what are you going to teach us, a wise one?
13:16I'm going to be showing you guys Bluetooth speakers, wireless iPad charger, and a thing
13:21micro PC.
13:22Okay.
13:23Yes.
13:24So I'm going to be showing you all these new tech things emerging from the tech world,
13:27and also some announcements from Windows.
13:29Oh!
13:30An announcement from a window.
13:32Right, David's not going anywhere because as well as his gadget roundup, we'll also be
13:37hitting the kitchen with a happy pair and getting this week's sports news.
13:40Grab a cuppa and we'll see you in a few.
13:49Oh yes.
13:50Welcome back to the 7 o'clock show.
13:51We are live with you until 8 o'clock.
13:52And no, your eyes are not deceiving you.
13:54It is, of course, Jamie Doylin!
13:56Oh!
13:57Stop it!
13:58I wish.
13:59It's Simon Delaney.
14:00Yeah.
14:01Pause for that.
14:02Yay!
14:03It's feeling on the sofa.
14:04And right now, it's time for our weekly Gadget Buzz roundup with head nerd, David Atkinson.
14:09David, what are we talking about this week?
14:11You know, when you say head nerd, it feels like I'm a leader of nerds.
14:13Well, you are.
14:14It's just me.
14:15You're the self-appointed nerds.
14:16Put on all your little personalities.
14:17In my kitchen.
14:18Yeah.
14:19So I'm showing you three tech items.
14:20Okay.
14:21First, we'll start with these.
14:22Now, you guys might have been around when the typewriter was invented, but things have
14:25gotten a little smaller.
14:26Wow!
14:27That's a good start, isn't it?
14:28I know.
14:29Strong start.
14:30I'm just lovely.
14:31Here we go.
14:32What does this look like?
14:33A memory stick?
14:34Something you've dug into your computer?
14:35It looks like one of those kind of poppy-uppy hairbrushes that you have in your handbag.
14:39Okay, Lucy, get me.
14:40No, it's a very big USB key, it looks like.
14:42Looks like a one.
14:43A very big USB key.
14:44It's actually a computer.
14:46It's got a computer drive to this.
14:48So this is a Windows 8.
14:50This is a Windows 8.
14:51It plugs into your TV.
14:53So it's a HDMI port that you plug into your TV.
14:56And then you just power it down the bottom here.
14:58And then it has a USB drive.
15:00It's got a micro SD card.
15:0232 GB memory.
15:03So the main thing behind this is because if you're on the go a lot of the time, if you're
15:08going to different hotels and stuff, you can just plug this into your television in the
15:12hotel room.
15:13If you're a teacher, for example, going to different classes even, you can use it for that.
15:16And it's got internal storage as well.
15:18So it's like 32 GB.
15:19So you can store all your Word documents or whatever.
15:21You can browse the web on it.
15:22It's got Wi-Fi.
15:23And as well as that, it's got a Bluetooth connector.
15:25So you can use a Bluetooth keyboard or Bluetooth mousepad as well.
15:29So it's very handy like that.
15:31And it's only below €200.
15:33Alright, that was my next question.
15:35Is it seriously spicy?
15:36No, it's actually not bad.
15:38There's similar products on sale at the moment.
15:40This is being released in March.
15:41So there's similar products on sale and it's only going for $150.
15:44So this is going to be below €200.
15:46Yeah.
15:47So it's really handy.
15:48So you can have your PC at home, for example, under the stairs maybe, you know, wherever
15:53standard.
15:54And what's the storage like on it?
15:5532 GB.
15:56That's a good question.
15:57You have a USB here, right?
15:58I don't know what it means.
15:59A great journalist.
16:00Just keep smiling.
16:01Yeah, yeah.
16:02So it's like, and you can use an external hard drive as well with the USB.
16:05Okay.
16:06Mark, are you maybe technical or are you like me?
16:08Somewhere in between, to be honest.
16:10I do like it, but I think it's more sort of if there's something I need to learn how to
16:14use, I'll have no problem kind of getting to know it and stuff.
16:16Yes.
16:17But I wouldn't sort of be going out seeking the nearest guardian and stuff.
16:20No.
16:21So I need to know places, I suppose.
16:22I can't be fair.
16:23I've just got the iPhone 6 and I still can't use it, the iPhone 6, because I've
16:27left my password for the iTunes thing.
16:29Have you?
16:30Yeah.
16:31I've always talked about the iTunes thing.
16:32Yeah.
16:33Maybe next time I'll help you out.
16:34Reset the password.
16:35That's what you were saying to help me, is that you just go home.
16:37Sorry, yes.
16:38I'm excited.
16:39I was really screaming.
16:40Screaming.
16:41Yeah.
16:42Screaming.
16:43Her friendship is over.
16:44It's very much.
16:45The next thing I'm going to talk about is wireless charging your iPad, right?
16:49Okay.
16:50Wirelessly charging your iPad.
16:51Wirelessly charging your iPad.
16:52Yeah, okay.
16:53This is a thing called a launch port, right?
16:54Yeah.
16:55It's just like a case you have for your iPad.
16:57You can use it as a case and basically what you do is just plug it in, set up like this,
17:02and then you just place it onto the launch port.
17:05Do you need to leave that on the coffee table?
17:06It's magnetic, handy as it's there.
17:08Pick it up, have a coffee, read something.
17:11I have something similar for the iPhone, which is a case but it charges.
17:15Sure, yeah.
17:16It's a similar kind of thing.
17:17Well, launch port, I've actually kind of wanted to do this for more so to build
17:21around the house, to make kind of a smart house, sort of an addition to that,
17:24as you can get additions for this where you put on the wall.
17:26So you can actually like leave it hanging up on the wall as well.
17:28As well as that, it's magnetic.
17:30So you can put it on like the likes of the fridge, say.
17:32Do you know what happens?
17:33That's cool.
17:34Yeah, so it's cool.
17:35So you can put it on things like that, sort of to make it...
17:37It's always handy to have electrical equipment near a fire.
17:39So you can stick your iPad on the foot.
17:41Yeah.
17:42Yeah.
17:43That's great.
17:44Yeah.
17:45That's good.
17:46I like it.
17:47Dashwise.
17:48Yeah.
17:49So to say wireless stuff, I'm going to go to this guy here.
17:51I feel like I'm in like a toy show or something.
17:53Kind of are.
17:54Why do I ask if you use it?
17:55Because I don't know what it is yet.
17:57What is it?
17:58You're back or something over the head.
18:01No, it's a Bluetooth speaker.
18:02So this is probably going for like $59.99, right?
18:06So you can get things that are really expensive, like 300 quid.
18:09This guy's really kind of hardy in that you could use it for like nights of camping and stuff.
18:13It's got this handy hook.
18:14Yes.
18:15Wow.
18:16You could put it on the end of your push chair.
18:18You could, yeah.
18:19You could do it.
18:20You could put it on your earring there.
18:21You could put it on your...
18:23Why would you put on a push chair?
18:24I don't want to use this for all our viewers.
18:27Well, truly, Hallie, because as well as that, it's got a microphone inbuilt.
18:30So if you're playing this away...
18:31Can I have a go?
18:32Yeah, have a go, yeah.
18:33So it's a mic you can record as well.
18:35Yeah, so...
18:36Well, no, it's not.
18:37I saw someone calls you in a connection.
18:38You can talk through that as well.
18:39Oh, wow.
18:40I know.
18:41When you practice your intro to the show, too late we're live.
18:44I like them.
18:45And what's the price of me?
18:47So that's $59.99.
18:48$59.99.
18:49Yeah, yeah.
18:50So it's not too expensive.
18:52Could you see a use for this being in the recording business yourself, Marcus?
18:55Um...
18:56Or maybe you can't do it.
19:00Even with the plastic hook that I can't open.
19:03It could be a nice present if you can go in there.
19:05It could.
19:06Put the receipt with the phrase.
19:07No, I'm joking.
19:08Yeah, it's actually...
19:09It looks good, though.
19:10I mean, to be honest, if it sounded good, that would be the kind of...
19:11That's the key, isn't it?
19:12Yes.
19:13It's a boy gadget.
19:14Shall we ask...
19:15Is there good sound on it?
19:16Yeah, it's good sound quality.
19:17I mean, like...
19:18So it's like...
19:19That's metallic oils, and so it's actually like pretty good sound quality as well.
19:22Right.
19:23For $59.99, it's one of the best out there at the moment.
19:26Okay, well, buy one.
19:27You're shouting us.
19:28Okay, thanks so much.
19:29We will see you next week.
19:30Okay, we're going to give you one more chance.
19:32Okay.
19:33Now, everybody, do keep your comments coming in.
19:37We love them.
19:38You can ask any of us any questions.
19:39We've had lots in for you, Marcus, already.
19:41We'll try and get to three, right?
19:43Right.
19:44Here we go.
19:45TerreEleicher wants to know, will you perform Westlife songs at your upcoming gigs?
19:48Well...
19:49Yeah.
19:50I mean, most of the songs are going to be my new songs or whatever.
19:53But I'll definitely be doing some songs that they also know.
19:55Yes.
19:56For like, you know, a couple of moments or whatever, you know?
19:59Yeah.
20:00Yeah.
20:01Absolutely.
20:02Okay.
20:03Jenny wants to know, are you nervous about performing without the Westlife voice?
20:04And...
20:05I don't spend too much time thinking about it because I don't want to, because I could kind of spiral into sort of a deep, dark hole in nerves.
20:11So I try and just focus on literally rehearsals and putting the band together and all the kind of technical stuff and that kind of keeps my mind off, you know, everything that can go wrong.
20:19Yes.
20:19But yes, I'm very nervous.
20:21I'm not actually, I'm actually not that nervous.
20:24Singing is one of the only things where once I start singing I just kind of stop being, I'm quite a nervous person in general, but once I start singing I just kind of stop out of it.
20:31Isn't it that thing of it's the 15 minutes before you actually walk on the site?
20:34That for me is like, I'll be standing there going, I just want it to start right now, I don't want to be waiting around.
20:39And then the minute it starts then you just forget about it.
20:41And you're doing what you do best and you're doing what you love, so it will come naturally.
20:44You just need to get at that first line.
20:46That's what I'm going to do.
20:47Yeah, that's what I'm going to do.
20:48That's what I'm going to do.
20:48Thanks, Miss.
20:49Thank you, Simon.
20:50Alan would like to know, would you collaborate with any of the Westlife guys on your new album?
20:54I've been collaborating with them for like 15 years.
20:57So that's called the Westlife album.
20:58Yeah, you're never going to get rid of them.
21:01Okay, if you want to get in touch, here's how you do it.
21:03You can text the word 7 followed by our message to 53131.
21:07Pop us an email to 7 o'clock show at TV3.ie.
21:11Or find 7 o'clock show on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
21:15Right, nearly time for a quick break.
21:17But first, the happy pair lads have been dying to get going in the kitchen.
21:20And they have to convince me that I'm going to love this veggie korma.
21:24If people want to try this at home, lads, where do we start?
21:27What's the key to a good korma?
21:29Coconut milk.
21:29Obviously, it starts with the sauce.
21:31And we've got lots of spices in here.
21:32There's curry powder and turmeric, brown cumin, coriander.
21:35And a lot of vegetables is always a good start for you.
21:38I think so.
21:38It's all about the sauce.
21:40So if it's really tasty sauce, you know, you're away in a hack then.
21:42My love of vegetables is where I start the plan for every meal.
21:45Yes.
21:46And then you can add your chicken into it if you want to.
21:48You know, it doesn't have to be exclusive.
21:51Exactly.
21:51You can have both.
21:52You've been fighting this all day.
21:53Why are you trying to call it out on the telly?
21:55I'm not fighting these.
21:56I'm ready to eat it.
21:57He's not really.
21:59He's got a burger hidden somewhere around here.
22:02Now, time for a very quick break.
22:04When we go back, we are heading to the kitchen.
22:06I will be meeting Newstalk's Richard Chambers for this week's Sports Roundup.
22:09He doesn't know what he's letting himself in for.
22:12See you in a few minutes.
22:13Welcome back to the 7 o'clock show.
22:21We are live with you until 8 o'clock.
22:22And I have dragged you on Marcus Feely up to the kitchen.
22:25Because the lads from the Happy Pair, Stephen Davis, need some help with this corm.
22:29Lads, the secret to a good corm.
22:31You've already said sauce as well.
22:32Well, I guess the sous chef might be important.
22:35I'd like to know about the red knife.
22:37I just want to go to red.
22:38More for speed.
22:40Red for speed.
22:40Now, listen, we're here to help.
22:41So give us jobs.
22:42Okay, so first step, we're going to pop.
22:44I've got two tablespoons of oil in there.
22:46Marcus, you can add in the onion and tomato, please.
22:49Down to the...
22:50Here we go.
22:51Do we need chopping, don't we?
22:52Okay, so I think Marcus was worried about chopping sweet potato.
22:56So I'm going to get Marcus.
22:57He's the favourite chef.
22:58Maybe here.
22:59Okay, we'll get...
22:59It's onion and tomato.
23:01Literally for two minutes.
23:02Like on a high heat.
23:03Oh, this pot isn't doing too well.
23:05But you're literally going to cook off your onion and tomato for about five minutes.
23:08Great work, Dahi.
23:10So sweet potato.
23:11Okay, do.
23:11Yeah, skin on.
23:13Most of the mentioned minerals in any veg would be in the skin.
23:16So just give it a good scrub.
23:17Because automatically the first thing I would do with that now is peel it.
23:19Yeah, you peel it.
23:20Is that it?
23:20I peel half the thing until the thing is left.
23:23So what do you want?
23:24You want it in there?
23:25Kind of bite-sized little bits.
23:26And this is a yam.
23:27Like so sweet potatoes are generally really orange.
23:30So this is a yam, kind of more white fella.
23:32Okay, do you want a little small little pieces like so?
23:35Great knife skills, woo!
23:37I actually have this at home, would you believe.
23:40Really?
23:40I love this knife.
23:41There you go, that's your favourite.
23:42So there's one.
23:43Now tell me about sort of a variance of ingredients with this.
23:46I mean, obviously, you're calling it a veggie sauce.
23:49Okay, so imagine.
23:49I think it can go in.
23:50My hob isn't working too well here.
23:52So I've got my onion and tomato and I fried it off for about four minutes.
23:55Okay.
23:56You can hear the sizzle.
23:57How many sizzle?
23:58We'll just imagine it.
23:59Beautiful slice.
24:00Okay, next up we're going to pop in our garlic and ginger.
24:03Careful, those onions are burning.
24:05Here, give us that knife there now.
24:06Give us that knife there.
24:08Okay, so we're just going to whack in the onion, the garlic and the ginger.
24:12In it goes.
24:12Can you hear the sizzle?
24:13It's beautiful.
24:14It's not like garlic in the pan.
24:16Okay.
24:16Steve, you're going to do the chili for me there now.
24:19I can't wait to taste this.
24:20And you're going to talk a little chili to the lads.
24:22Do you like it hot?
24:24No.
24:24I know we all like a hot potato.
24:25Are you a man or what?
24:26No, I just don't like it.
24:28Okay, so if you like it hot, leave the seeds in.
24:30If you don't, leave the seeds out.
24:32Oh, really?
24:32That makes it less fast.
24:33Say it again, say it again just in case people miss it.
24:35So, okay, if you like it hot, hack it up now with the seeds in it.
24:38The heat of any chili is in the seeds.
24:40Good.
24:41Would I also be right in saying that the white veins, would you be removing them as well for heat?
24:47Not necessarily.
24:48No, the veins are just more bitter flavor.
24:51Right.
24:51So, again, we'll just hack it up whatever way you go back.
24:53Look at those knives.
24:54Okay, so it's cooking.
24:55Oh, you're a genius, Winner.
24:57How's our hop going?
24:59Smell it good now.
24:59Oh, he's got all the right things.
25:02He says all the right things.
25:03Okay, so the chili goes in.
25:04Add the chili in there now.
25:05Yeah, we're just getting a small moment.
25:07Add the chili in there now.
25:09Yes, sir.
25:10Put it in.
25:11In they go.
25:11In they go.
25:11Okay, good lad.
25:12Okay, so now, five minutes later.
25:15It's been cooking for five minutes, hasn't it, lads?
25:17Yes.
25:17You can verify that.
25:18At least five minutes.
25:19Five minutes.
25:19And it's beautiful.
25:20The flavors are really coming together beautifully.
25:22Yeah, I can smell them.
25:23So now, we're going to make our sauce.
25:24It's all going to happen.
25:25How did you make the sauce, Dave?
25:26Out of a tin.
25:27Oh, my God.
25:28Out of a tin.
25:29What's that?
25:30What's that stuff?
25:31That's coconut milk.
25:34Beautiful.
25:35Genius.
25:35I cooked with that last week, actually.
25:37Did you?
25:38With a bit of spinach.
25:39Oh, so man.
25:41So that'll add a nice, creamy, kind of sweet flavor to it.
25:44So instead of adding two chains of coconut milk, I'm going to keep this slightly low-fat for
25:48your Friday night February party.
25:51So I'm going to add one tin of coconut milk, and then I'm going to add one tin of water.
25:55Okay.
25:55Is that going, lads?
25:56You're just rock and roll, really, aren't you?
25:58See, you can talk about the spices there.
25:59Okay, so spices here.
26:01Yellow fella.
26:01Okay, let's do guess the spices.
26:03Marcus, do you want to play?
26:05Okay, so we've got that one.
26:07It's white stuff.
26:08Okay.
26:08White stuff is salt and pepper.
26:10Very good.
26:11Okay, over here.
26:11I think we'll...
26:12We can do taste.
26:13There's red cumin or coriander in there, isn't there?
26:15Yeah, well, this is turmeric.
26:17Turmeric's always yellow.
26:18That's hers.
26:19So he'll be kind of like...
26:20Do you want to play?
26:21No, no, we're playing.
26:21I really don't like spices.
26:22No, no, no.
26:23Because that's curry powder.
26:24We have graved coriander.
26:26Come on, we've got to get through this dish.
26:27Okay, well, here, let's go.
26:28In it goes.
26:29Three minutes, three minutes.
26:29Okay, quick.
26:30Okay, so that's the start of our sauce.
26:32So I'm adding in this stuff.
26:33What's that stuff for?
26:34It's beautiful.
26:35Genius.
26:36That one is actually tamari.
26:38It's also tamari, right?
26:40It's just wheat-free soy sauce.
26:41You said, you know, I was listening.
26:44Is there a big difference in taste?
26:45I'm adding in a bit of honey.
26:46No, it's actually a nicer...
26:47It's actually...
26:48You can cut up the lemon there, Marcus,
26:50and pop it, squeeze it in there.
26:51Why are we adding honey just to add...
26:53It's a sense of sweetness.
26:54Because, say,
26:55I'm adding coriander to it.
26:57It can be a bit sharper.
26:58So you just squeeze that in through your hand,
26:59or through my hand.
27:00That's what you always do,
27:01so the pips don't come through it.
27:02Many hands make leek.
27:03All right, lads, we've got two minutes,
27:04so whack in the sweet potatoes and the leeks there.
27:06Sweet potatoes, leeks.
27:07Four of lads cooking a dish here.
27:08Yeah.
27:09We can do it.
27:09We can do it.
27:10And no, the oven's not on.
27:11We can do it.
27:12Come on.
27:12In we go.
27:13Okay.
27:13Who's next?
27:15Let's go in.
27:15Leek's going.
27:17So leek we chopped small,
27:18so it'll cut quicker.
27:19So now we're doing...
27:20Butter beans.
27:20In goes butter beans.
27:21Great.
27:22And we're literally bringing this to the boil.
27:24And then we're going to leave it simmer away.
27:26We're going to bring it to the boil
27:27and leave it a simmer away for about 20 minutes.
27:29Got that?
27:29Okay.
27:30It's brilliant.
27:30Okay.
27:3120 minutes have passed.
27:33It's ready.
27:34Done.
27:34Done.
27:34What?
27:35Hang on, dude.
27:36Don't be premature.
27:37Don't be premature.
27:38I know you're really excited.
27:39Like there's a bit of heat in there.
27:40Steve, you take the peas over there.
27:42Okay, Steve.
27:42Grab the peas.
27:43Do it.
27:44Quick.
27:44Okay, here we go.
27:45Okay, the peas are in there.
27:46And I just got French beans.
27:48Beautifully packed French beans.
27:50In they go.
27:52Bit of herbage.
27:53Bit of herbage.
27:54Bit of coriander.
27:54Okay, so this is the dish.
27:55Look at that.
27:56That's honestly look gorgeous.
27:58Yeah, doesn't it?
27:58It looks pretty good.
27:59So very low in fat, low in calories, and really high in taste.
28:03Now, if our argument said you wanted to do a meat fresh with this,
28:08at what point would the meat go into that?
28:10Just at the same time.
28:11Before the veg?
28:12When you're adding the sweet potato.
28:13I don't cook meat, so chicken probably takes how long to cook.
28:17It's going to have half an hour.
28:18We'll work it in the same time with the sweet potato.
28:19But you can cook it low and slow, an hour, an hour and a half maybe.
28:21Do you know where we're under?
28:23Or else if there is...
28:23I'm about to find out.
28:24Okay.
28:25I do, yeah.
28:27Okay, so maybe I'll bring the pot over here and we can be four genders.
28:30Do we have some bowls?
28:30Yeah.
28:31Are we going to be polite?
28:33No, or maybe we'll do the pot.
28:35Oh, here was an idea to say.
28:37Let's put them in bowls, gentlemen, shall we?
28:38We're not cavemen.
28:40Okay, yes.
28:40And we have bowls behind us.
28:42Okay, wait, wait.
28:44But yeah, just wash and dry them because we've got loads of time.
28:47There we are.
28:48There we are, sir.
28:49Very good.
28:51I'm going to be mother.
28:52Okay.
28:53Good.
28:53How are you doing?
28:53Great.
28:54Lovely, yeah.
28:55Do you want a little or a little?
28:57A lot.
28:57A medium person.
28:59A medium person.
29:01We'll just serve this with the rice.
29:03We'll just serve a man.
29:03I serve with rice.
29:04I'm going to put a bit of, I just got some toasted pina bread.
29:08Look at this.
29:08Look, look, look.
29:09Just for a fact.
29:10Toasted rice.
29:10A couple of soldiers there for you.
29:12Nice.
29:12And a little bit of avocado.
29:14Do you like avocado, man?
29:15There's a camera up there, yeah?
29:16Okay, Marcus, come on.
29:17You're the man.
29:18Let's do it.
29:18Let's taste it.
29:19Uh-oh.
29:20Go on.
29:20Do you know I'm not afraid of it?
29:21No, no.
29:21You've got to try it there.
29:22Go on.
29:22I'm not afraid of it.
29:23This is the weirdest thing because I actually don't like people looking at me when I'm eating.
29:31Or, everybody look over here and talk about something else.
29:34Just before you taste it, the party line is, that's delicious.
29:37Yeah.
29:38Don't look at them eating when you get very upset.
29:40How is it, Marcus?
29:41I'm not looking.
29:42Mmm.
29:43How is it?
29:43That is delicious.
29:44Oh!
29:45See?
29:46You see?
29:47It's actually good.
29:48I'm trying to try it.
29:48It's not a thunk.
29:49No, no, no, no, no, no.
29:50All right, let's...
29:51Listen, listen.
29:52Let's grab our plates and bring some over to the lobby, Lucy, shall we?
29:55Okay, yeah, we can.
29:56Come on, then.
29:56Yes, please.
29:58Thank you, boys.
29:58That was a great crack.
29:59I feel so sorry for Marcus.
30:00Now, we're...
30:01We're joined by Newstalk's...
30:03Facing your face.
30:03Yeah.
30:04Newstalk's T33 has Richard Jamers, and you are going to bring us your weekly sports roundup.
30:09Yeah.
30:10Oh, it's a big week for sport, Lucy.
30:12PSG's David Luiz, every bit as evil as his cartoon sidekick, side joke.
30:16Bob.
30:16Yes.
30:17He's been caught bending the rules on film.
30:19Also, great week for Irish footballers, and we're going to give a quick run-through of
30:23some of the most bizarre sporting injuries ever.
30:25Nice.
30:26He's laughing, because I was supposed to say...
30:28I was supposed to make Lucy sounds.
30:30So sport to go up and say, he's caught sight show, Bob.
30:33And you ruined it, because you're not.
30:35Right.
30:35Time for one last quick break.
30:37When we come back, Richard will be giving us the lowdown on his week's sporting highlights.
30:41And the happy pair will be solving your kitchen nightmares and helping you to cook your dinner.
30:45Don't go anywhere.
30:46Welcome back to the 7 o'clock show.
31:06We're live with you guys until 8 o'clock.
31:07And in case you're wondering, yes, this is Simon Delaney from the fall, sitting beside me.
31:12Martin is off relaxing for the day, and our gorgeous guest tonight, she's been so brave
31:17to stay for the entire show.
31:19Corma Westliver, who is branch getting his own, Marcus Feeney.
31:25And now we're on to our weekly sports fix with Newstalk's team 33, Richard Chambers.
31:29Very awesome.
31:30Big, big week.
31:34Of course, it all started back last weekend.
31:36Jamie Heeslip, Ireland's number eight, injured in the big game against France.
31:40Give me a big one.
31:42There's some pasta on half eight.
31:43You've already lost.
31:44You did not have a half eight.
31:45Yes.
31:46The notorious Frenchman behind it, banned for 10 weeks for putting out a vertebrae in his back.
31:51He's out for the whole Six Nations, this is Jamie Heeslip.
31:53No hard feelings, though.
31:55That is quite serious.
31:56It's a huge injury.
31:57He broke a bone in the back.
31:58Yeah, I heard that timing.
32:01I'm translating it for you.
32:02I know that's serious.
32:03Good translation, isn't it?
32:04But yeah, no hard feelings between the two.
32:06They were on Twitter, having a...
32:08Pape, of course, apologised to Jamie.
32:10Jamie took it well, graciously accepted.
32:12But now we're on to the England game, the big crunch game of the whole Six Nations.
32:16Everybody's turning into amateur doctors, looking at the camp, seeing hopefully no injuries come along.
32:21And that's where we're going to our main topic this week, the most bizarre sports injuries of all time.
32:25Okay, I love it.
32:26There we go.
32:27Let's kick us off now.
32:28Alex Stepney.
32:29Simon, you'll be a big fan.
32:30Former Manchester United goalkeeper, you can say.
32:33Legend, yes.
32:33Legend, yeah.
32:33Goalkeepers, of course, don't know him.
32:34You knew that, didn't you?
32:35Yes, I mean.
32:36Well, you'll know him for this day.
32:37You'll remember him now.
32:38Yeah.
32:39Goalkeepers know him as a bit gobby, right?
32:41They're always cursing out their defenders.
32:43Why didn't you do this?
32:44Why did you leave your man open?
32:45Alex Stepney took it to a whole new extreme.
32:49He was effing and blinding so much of his defenders.
32:52He popped out his jaw.
32:54What?
32:55Dislocated his jaw.
32:55Yeah.
32:56Done.
32:56How?
32:57That's an injury.
32:58Just my...
32:58He dislocated his own jaw, but he was roaring that much of the back four.
33:02Yeah.
33:02He actually dislocated his own jaw.
33:04You've got to feel sympathy for it.
33:06Yeah.
33:06And there it is.
33:07Wow.
33:07Yeah.
33:08So he's shouting and gets it over.
33:09Yeah.
33:09Yeah, exactly.
33:10There you go.
33:10Exactly.
33:11It's come true.
33:12Footballers, they tend to get themselves in this.
33:14Dave Bessinger's, of course, another goalkeeper dropped salad cream on his foot.
33:18That's a bit of an ouch.
33:19Okay.
33:20Kirk Broadfoot.
33:20Not just the sauce, he dropped the bottle.
33:22The whole bottle.
33:24It wouldn't push you out for that long.
33:26You dropped the sauce.
33:26You are going to get time out very soon, my friend.
33:29You thought, what injured him by being a sandwich?
33:32I did actually ask him.
33:33I know I think that's the act of it.
33:34They know that's the act of it for driving.
33:36You did think that, didn't you?
33:37I did.
33:38We did.
33:39Yeah, I just couldn't take it about food.
33:41It's the Korma.
33:42It's the Korma's going to be in.
33:43It's not the Korma.
33:44This is the next one.
33:45It's another food one, actually.
33:46Kirk Broadfoot, Rangers defender.
33:48Say what you like about Rangers.
33:49Scottish football.
33:50Thank you, Simon.
33:50Here we go.
33:52He's looking for a quick protein fix, as he do.
33:54Professional athlete.
33:55Thought he'd poached himself a few eggs in the microwave.
33:57You know, a quick hit of it.
33:59Goes to open up the microwave.
34:01Eggs explode in his face.
34:03Ouch!
34:04Nasty, nasty one.
34:05You see, it's not even the injuries.
34:07It's ringing the club that afternoon.
34:09Yeah, it's like, what happened here?
34:10Listen, I'm not going to be in.
34:12Sorry, boss.
34:13A poached egg exploded on me.
34:16Nasty things.
34:16I mean, to the drop in salad.
34:18I've been leaving it in for too long.
34:20We don't know what actually happened.
34:22We don't know.
34:23It's very interesting, though.
34:24The exploding eggs and Kirk Broadfoot.
34:26The last one, though, Kim Clysters.
34:28One of the greatest tennis players of all time.
34:31Tennis.
34:32Two stories about her.
34:34We've all known to become a cropper on wedding dance floors.
34:37She tripped over at her cousin's wedding.
34:38And for six weeks, missed the U.S. Open.
34:41One of the biggest tournaments in the year.
34:42The thing is, did she trip over her cousin at the wedding?
34:45Or at her cousin's wedding?
34:46At her cousin's wedding.
34:47But, you know, Simon.
34:48We understand that now.
34:50She made an awful rocket.
34:51Yay!
34:52Ladies and gentlemen, start seeing you.
34:54Yay!
34:54We are getting you back, my friend.
34:58Man, here all week, trying to feel the comedy just keeps on coming.
35:03Sorry, man.
35:04You should open the gig of the Olympia with that.
35:06That's it.
35:08We'll laugh.
35:08We'll laugh.
35:09And then, you got it.
35:10Next one, though.
35:11Fell over her dog.
35:12Diesel.
35:13Great Dane.
35:14Tripped over.
35:14Missed Wimbledon.
35:16That is embarrassing.
35:17Where did she fall from?
35:18She just stayed home.
35:19From a height.
35:22She's quite lucky, though, right?
35:24That's really a twice.
35:25That's twice.
35:25That's really embarrassing stories.
35:26I'm dreading that there are incidents.
35:27All the pros are all over that.
35:28Yeah, that's just worth it.
35:29Do you think there might have been lubrication involved, though?
35:31Because she fell over at a wedding.
35:33Yeah.
35:33And then fell over her dog.
35:34Do you think maybe what you did there?
35:36These two things are connected, you know?
35:37I think it was probably all go.
35:39I think it could be.
35:40Could it be?
35:40Okay, crickets.
35:41Yeah, crickets, of course.
35:43The Irish guys are doing great.
35:45West Indies.
35:45You could've got another huge upset for the Irish guys to pull off.
35:48Not all going so well, though, for all of Ireland's cricketers.
35:51North Dublin guy, Rush guy, Owen Morgan.
35:54General for you.
35:55General for me, yeah.
35:56General for me, yeah.
35:57England not doing so well.
35:58No.
35:59Absolutely hammered by these leaders.
36:00Let's be honest, they were battered last night.
36:02Yeah, yeah.
36:02They were actually given a, you know,
36:03they were given a real spanking last night on New Zealand.
36:06It's probably one of the worst defeats they're saying
36:08in their one-day history.
36:10It was that bad.
36:11He's getting awful abuse on Twitter for me.
36:12No less than John Cleese said he should panic over his position.
36:15So when John Cleese is calling out...
36:16As in like Basil Fawlty.
36:17As in Basil Fawlty.
36:18Well, Basil Fawlty's telling you you're not doing a good job.
36:22I mean...
36:22You should panic.
36:23You're in trouble.
36:24It's not good.
36:24It's not good.
36:25But yeah, the Irish guys are back in action now.
36:27Wednesday morning.
36:28It's one for the night, Al.
36:29It's three o'clock in the morning if you want to see them play the U.A.
36:31I have to be honest.
36:32I did stay up to watch it the other night.
36:35Did you?
36:36Yeah, I only got as far as we're at one in the morning.
36:38I watched the first innings and then I got a bit...
36:40And I had to pack it in.
36:42It's actually brilliant to watch.
36:44I've followed the cricket for years.
36:46And to see the Irish cricket team and coming close to getting a test,
36:50you know, to becoming a status as their own.
36:52One of the test nations.
36:53It's huge.
36:54It's incredible.
36:54Yeah, games against South Africa and Pakistan.
36:56There's big ones left to go.
36:57But, you know, they've done it before.
36:59They've beaten the big teams before.
37:00And they've beat them again.
37:01What about Sideshow Bob?
37:03Sideshow Bob.
37:04Your pal, Lucy.
37:05Your pal.
37:06Here we go.
37:06David Louise, right?
37:08Evil, evil guy.
37:09You're going to see him here.
37:10Moving the magic foam.
37:11The spray foam introduced in the World Cup.
37:14You know, to say, that's where the ball is.
37:15The ball does not move from there.
37:16This is a free kick.
37:17Do not move the ball.
37:19Swipes it up.
37:20Nothing.
37:21Go on.
37:21What's it then?
37:22Thinks nobody's going to notice him.
37:23The world's watching this game.
37:24Exactly.
37:24Cameras on him.
37:25Millions of people are watching.
37:26Yes.
37:26You see it here.
37:27Look at this mark.
37:28Here's his spray.
37:29Look.
37:29Wipe the old glass.
37:30And right over there.
37:31It sucks, isn't it?
37:32But how did he think he could win?
37:34Look at this.
37:36Look at it.
37:37I mean, he should have been a bank robber, should he?
37:38No, I know.
37:40Had I been him, I would have probably bent down to make it look like I was, you know, fixing
37:44my lace.
37:44And then swipe.
37:45That's obvious.
37:46But what is the advantage he's gaining there, Richard?
37:49A little bit of an angle.
37:50It's all about the angle.
37:50It's all about the angle.
37:51Yes, thank you, Richard.
37:52Thank you so much.
37:53Right.
37:53The happy pair may have cooked our dinner, but they're still looking to help you guys cook
37:57your dinner at home.
37:58Lads, what questions have you got in so far?
38:01Well, we've got two very interesting ones.
38:04Go for it.
38:05Woo-hoo.
38:05So, Suze tweeted, are there any tips you can give me to make my kids eat more vegetables?
38:12Oh, yes.
38:13Go for it.
38:14So, we've got two kids.
38:15So, my top tips would be one smoothie.
38:18Me and my daughters make a smoothie every morning, and we'll put lots of different things in
38:21it.
38:21So, they'll definitely get some veg first thing in the morning.
38:24Another good way is juicing.
38:25By juicing, like, say, for example, at 12 a.m., a cup of juice might have two beetroot,
38:30cucumber, celery, spinach, apple.
38:32You can put loads of good stuff.
38:33And maybe they're not into cucumber or spinach, but you could put carrots, I love you, and sweet.
38:36Kiwi.
38:37You know, things like that.
38:39Other things, putting hummus on bread, things like that.
38:41Hummus is a good one.
38:42Hummus is a good one.
38:42But I think avocado is a great veg as well.
38:44You know, if they don't like carrots or broccoli or things like this.
38:47And even avocado, you can make it sweet.
38:49You can blend it with honey and some cocoa powder to turn it into kind of a healthy chocolate
38:52mousse.
38:53Yeah.
38:54Or I make it nice.
38:54I do.
38:55I just make a face.
38:56Like, I'd make the carrot the nose in the middle of the mash.
38:59That's for Rich.
38:59Yeah, make things pink.
39:00That's for Rich.
39:01Yeah, you're right.
39:02We won't eat his peas unless they're lined up in a happy, smiley face.
39:07Poor El Rich.
39:08Boys, thanks so much.
39:09Marcus, back to you.
39:10How are you feeling?
39:11March the 8th.
39:12First solo gig?
39:14Yeah, first solo gig ever.
39:15Well, yeah, so London on the 4th of March, but then Dublin on the 8th of March.
39:21I'm just really excited, you know.
39:22I could spend hours and hours getting nervous and worrying about stuff, but, you know, I
39:26just think it's, you know, that's the kind of thing I might have done before, but I just
39:30think if I'm going to do this, you know, you have to try and just focus and do.
39:34I mean, I've been performing for a long time, you know, so there is parts of this that are
39:38brand new, but it's also something I've been doing for a long time.
39:41So, yeah, I'm hoping that that experience will just kick in and, yeah.
39:44In terms of the actual album and more so the gig itself, what can people expect to hear,
39:50Marcus?
39:50You know, how different is it going to be from Westlife's catalogue of work?
39:54Is it a big step away from that?
39:55Well, I was kind of quite interested to see how different people thought it was.
39:58My first single, Love is a Drug, was playing on the radio yesterday and I was kind of interested
40:02to see the feedback.
40:04And some people, a lot of people are kind of saying, wow, it's not what I expected, you
40:07know.
40:09How would you describe the sound?
40:11You know, what genres are sitting in this?
40:12There's a bit of, I mean, all of my kind of personal influences, which would be gospel,
40:17soul, R&B, they're definitely in there without a doubt.
40:21But at the same time, the producers I worked with sort of, there's some synth in there
40:26and like an electronic sort of pop sounding music as well.
40:29So, it's kind of, I honestly don't know how to describe it.
40:33I'd rather other people describe it for me.
40:35Everyone just has to go and see you.
40:37Yeah, it's going to be great.
40:39I mean, I'm going to be doing that song, which people by then will hopefully know because
40:42it's on the radio.
40:43Yeah.
40:44I'll be doing another couple of songs that people will know from the past.
40:48And the rest will be new songs.
40:50And I suppose it's one of those things where, you know, a lot of bands and a lot of artists
40:55do start off playing gigs around the place, whether it's in bars or clubs, and they're
41:00playing songs that nobody knows.
41:01And that's, I'm excited to start from scratch like that, you know.
41:04Yeah.
41:05But you've been writing, haven't you?
41:06Writing songs for literally like two years.
41:08Yeah.
41:09For this album, I've been writing for a long time, but for this album I've been writing
41:12since the band finished, really.
41:16The minute the band finished, you know, everyone kind of would assume you'd be, get away from
41:20music for a little while.
41:21Yeah.
41:21To me, naturally, like when I wake up in the morning, the first thing I think about is
41:24music, you know.
41:26So to me it was kind of, it wasn't the same as what I had been doing, you know.
41:30Yeah.
41:30I was going into the studio to start this whole new kind of adventure or journey.
41:34And it's a process different, Marcus, in writing your own material as opposed to writing
41:39stuff with the band or for the band.
41:40Yeah.
41:41Because you see your writing is from...
41:42It's very different.
41:43Because I mean...
41:44It's your soul.
41:44Yeah, I mean, it's very different.
41:47Like most writing sessions would start with having a conversation about what's...
41:51For me, for some reason, mostly it's about what's annoying me, I was going to say.
41:54Yeah, yeah.
41:55You get it all off your chest.
41:56Yeah, exactly.
41:57And so, yeah, that's kind of how most things start or whatever.
42:01And I kind of tend to write songs more about things that are annoying me or frustrating
42:05me.
42:05When I'm happy, I just go to the pub.
42:07So, yeah, but I go to the studio, I'm kind of inspired to go to the studio.
42:13And I'm inspired to write about stuff that is a bit more kind of angsty and frustrated
42:18and...
42:19Yeah.
42:19No, I do have happy moments as well.
42:21It's not all kind of completely morbid.
42:22But there's poppy stuff.
42:23There will be poppy stuff there.
42:25Yeah.
42:25To me, like, my music, like, in general, like, I want it to be pop music, you know, but it's
42:30just different pop music to Westlife.
42:33Yes.
42:33Yeah, so...
42:34It's very exciting.
42:36It's very exciting.
42:37I'm really...
42:37Honestly, I thought I'd be more nervous and I thought I'd be weirder and stuff like that,
42:40but I'm just enjoying it, you know.
42:41And I can talk for hours about this because I know how the songs were written.
42:47I know what they're about.
42:48This is your baby.
42:49Yeah, I'm talking about something that's very personal, so...
42:52Yes.
42:52Enjoy it in a sense.
42:53Throughout all that time that you spent with Westlife, though, Marcus, what would be...
42:56If you had to pick one highlight from those years...
42:58The only highlight one.
42:59What would it be?
43:00There's...
43:01There's so many, but I mean, I think the last kind of thing that's still fresh in my
43:05mind nearly even, nearly three years later, is the gigs at Crow Park, you know.
43:09We always said from the word go, like when we were 18 years old, 19 years old...
43:13Shut that look.
43:14I love that picture, actually.
43:15That was...
43:16I'll put that on Twitter a little bit.
43:17Where are you in that picture?
43:18That's actually not the very last one.
43:20That's the first time we played at Crow Park, I think.
43:22Sorry.
43:23What sort of crowns are there?
43:24How many are there?
43:2580,000?
43:26It was over 80,000, yeah.
43:27I don't know exactly, to be honest.
43:28But, like, as I said, from day one we always said that we wanted to go out with the bang
43:34on a high, not kind of fizzle away into sort of, you know, struggling.
43:38Yes, yes.
43:39And I'm so happy that we got to do that, you know.
43:42I'm so happy to Crow Park...
43:44Because people originally wanted us to do a few gigs in the, I was going to call it
43:49The Point, sorry.
43:50The Three Arena.
43:51The Three Arena.
43:53And I kind of was like, I was like, wait a minute, this is our last ever gig.
43:56Like, what if we were to go for Crow Park again?
43:58And people were very weary.
44:00And we just had this thing in our gut about Crow Park.
44:03And then we put one on, sold out in minutes or whatever.
44:07And then we done two in the end.
44:08So that's definitely going out with a bang.
44:10Absolutely.
44:11That was big time.
44:12They were the most amazing gigs, you know.
44:13And I still remember it like it was yesterday.
44:15It was just very emotional.
44:17We were all in complete tears.
44:18What a way to finish.
44:20It was like 50% of the songs that we didn't sing half long.
44:23Because, like, I was working on it.
44:24No, half like with a wig.
44:26I was just like trying to get a grip.
44:28It's impossible.
44:29Thank you so much for coming in.
44:30It was so lovely to talk to you.
44:31I wish you all the very, very best.
44:33Go and see this boy.
44:34You know how to find him.
44:35Amazing.
44:36Unfortunately, that's all I've got time for on Monday.
44:38We've got funny Naughty Man Jason Burn is stopping by.
44:40And Gary Johan will be creating a brand new dish based on
44:43what is in the coverage.
44:44Thank you so much.
44:45Thank you, boys.
44:45Bye.
44:46Have a great day.
44:47Thank you, Simon.
