00:00There was a bit of pace to that. Do I detect a bit of an ABBA influence then?
00:04Yeah, there is a bit of an ABBA bump to it.
00:06You have lockdown to blame for that because I think we were all locked up for two years, pretty much.
00:11You know, we made that album and it wasn't planned and it was something that we just decided over Zoom one day, you know, how can we work from home?
00:17And we just got into it and we just started writing and recording with producers on Zoom around the world,
00:23whether it was L.A. or London or Dublin or Sligo on the West Coast.
00:27And we I think the album is a little bit full of flavours of like songs like that, where it's really uptempo, quite positive.
00:33And then we have obviously some renowned for ballads and some nice ballads on there.
00:37My hero being one in this song that Shane wrote about his mum and dad passing away called Always With Me.
00:42So it's got a little bit of everything.
00:44And I think lockdown over two years gave us the ability to do that.
00:48Yeah, I mean, Mark, in the middle of the new single, the track we just heard, there is a really high note in that.
00:54Do you have to kind of take a bit of a run up to the pommel horse for that one?
01:04Well, to be honest with you, genuinely, from from day one in the band, I kind of was always given like the high note or the ad lib at the end of the song or whatever.
01:11And at the beginning, I used to get very scared about it. You know, I was like, oh, my God, I'm never here comes the note, here comes the note, here comes the note.
01:17And I kind of would literally like completely mess it up on multiple occasions.
01:22It wasn't until probably, I don't know, six or seven years ago, I was like, right, I'm going to a vocal coach and I'm going to try and harness this fear.
01:30Like, I always knew I could hit the note, but I was psychologically wrecking myself out of it, yeah, yeah.
01:36Wrecking myself up. So I finally went to vocal coaching and worked out that it's all in my head and that I can hit the note ten times a day.
01:42I mean, I can't hit it now, obviously, because, you know.
01:44You're not warmed up.
01:45No, because I don't like being put in the spot.
01:47No, but, you know, no.
01:49Why have you as better?
01:50It's just believing in yourself, isn't it?
01:53Yeah, but it's also preparing for a performance, you know, and warming up.
01:57So for me to do it now would be really unprofessional.
