00:00Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Wile E. Coyote. Genius.
00:05Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the top 10 times science totally betrayed our favorite genius, Wile E. Coyote.
00:18Number 10. The Rock Shower. There they go, go, go.
00:21Beep, beep.
00:24Beep, beep.
00:25For the final gag in this short, Wile E. tries to squash the roadrunner by dropping a pile of rocks.
00:34Only one problem. The rocks refuse to fall.
00:38Now, one could easily look at that pile of rocks and tell how easily it should have collapsed, especially with how small the rocks were on the bottom of the pile.
00:46Apparently, gravity decided to take a momentary vacation until our beloved coyote started jabbing it with a stick.
00:52What in heaven's name are you doing, Wile E?
00:55Number 9. Acme Glue. Ready, Set, Zoom.
01:02We all know how glue works.
01:05It's a liquid substance that has a somewhat thick viscosity before solidifying.
01:09So why does the short Ready, Set, Zoom depict glue in a super watery form?
01:13In one of the short's first gags, Wile E lays down a spread of Acme-branded glue on the road in the hopes of trapping the roadrunner.
01:20However, ol' Speedipus Rex manages to tear through the puddle no problem.
01:30Normally, glue would not react to such force in a similar manner as muddy water would.
01:35But, you know, the laws of physics will harm our genius when it feels like doing so.
01:39Number 8. The Acme Giant Rubber Band.
01:48Woe be gone.
01:50Acme strikes again as Wile E suffers another cruel twist of fate.
01:54This time, it happens before the roadrunner can even make its presence known.
01:58Our favorite genius sets up a giant rubber band to stop the roadrunner by strapping it to two rocks,
02:03one on both sides of the road.
02:05Almost instantly, the rocks give way and are flung into Wile E.
02:15Now, normally, a rubber band would not have the strength to even slightly shift to massive rocks from their resting places,
02:21no matter how big the rubber band is.
02:23But again, why expect logic in the realm of Looney Tunes?
02:27Number 7. Fishing with Dynamite. Guided Muscle.
02:31Wile E had the perfect setup.
02:33For once, everything should have gone swimmingly here.
02:36A plain stick of dynamite at the end of a fishing rod?
02:39And the roadrunner was oblivious the entire time?
02:42Perfect!
02:42And yet, science abandons him.
02:45Somehow, the dynamite's fuse extended to the fishing line itself,
02:49all the way across Wile E's outline and straight into the box of dynamite behind.
02:53We cannot comprehend how, even in cartoon logic, this was possible in the first place.
03:10Number 6. The Black Hole. Beep prepared.
03:14Ah, the classic black hole trick.
03:15A staple of toon power that only the most unhinged cartoon characters could pull off.
03:25Beep prepared is a short filled with all kinds of nonsense.
03:29It's here that we saw all logic get tossed out the window.
03:32Just as the roadrunner approaches, Wile E lifts up a cover revealing a hole for the bird to fall in.
03:37But then, the bird just stops, grabs the hole, and runs off to place it on a completely different spot.
03:43We're only at number 6, and science somehow finds even more ridiculous ways to foil the great Wile E. Coyote.
03:55Number 5. The Flying Saucer. Operation Rabbit.
04:00Now, my masterpiece.
04:04Wile E's first mistake here was going up against the likes of Bugs Bunny.
04:07Bugs has such an insane amount of toon power that it exceeds the roadrunner's tenfold.
04:13That said, what made Wile E think he had a shot at cooking Bugs up with an animal-hunting UFO?
04:27With this radar scope programmed to detect birds, mice, and rabbits, there should have been no way for this plan to backfire.
04:33Au contraire, as Bugs needs only a red marker to rewire the radar scope's programming and make it hunt coyotes.
04:40That's exactly how machines work.
04:43Number 4. The Fake Railroad Crossing. Beep Beep.
04:53Over the past century, we've seen all sorts of ways to hit Wile E. Coyote with a train.
04:57But this moment had us dumbfounded. And laughing, of course.
05:01To slow down the roadrunner, the self-proclaimed genius lays down a single piece of train tracks with two bushes to mask the ends.
05:08This somehow summoned a whole new railroad with a speeding train barreling towards them.
05:17There's something truly eldritch happening in this desert if trains can just appear out of nowhere from a few pieces of wood and iron.
05:28Number 3. The Archery Accident. Beep. Prepared.
05:32In case you didn't know, bow strings can be made from an assortment of different fibers and synthetics.
05:38But even these materials have a breaking point.
05:40However, the bow Wiley orders in this short seems to have some imperviousness to it for the sake of putting him through the ringer.
05:46Upon failing to take aim at the roadrunner, our poor genius gets slammed and launched from various points of one tall rock structure.
06:04At one point, the bow string manages to break a chunk of rock off the structure and bend to an absurd degree.
06:10Judging from everything we see so far, it appears Acme's only durable product is the bow.
06:16Number 2. Acme Tornado Seeds. Woe be gone.
06:34Now, we all know how tornadoes are formed, right?
06:38Wind currents moving at different speeds in opposite directions with different temperatures are what create some of the worst natural disasters one could ever experience.
06:45Well, somehow, Acme found a way to pack such a powerful force into a tiny pellet that only grows from a small dose of water.
06:58The laws of nature have completely abandoned Wiley in this short.
07:02But come on, he should know that unleashing even a tornado as small as his would still lead to catastrophic consequences.
07:13Before we unveil our top pick, here are some honorable mentions.
07:17The Acme Rocket Sled.
07:18Be prepared.
07:20Another haywire rocket.
07:21But it's the funniest misfire.
07:23Cement science.
07:33Going, going, gosh.
07:35It's just like Acme glue.
07:37Sticky, watery, and unreal.
07:39The pistol in a box.
07:50There they go, go, go.
07:51That spring looked a tad too sturdy to bend that far.
07:54Beep, beep.
07:57Beep, beep.
07:58Go.

08:18Number 1.
08:19Painting the Tunnel.
08:20Fast and Furious.
08:21It's the classic painting an object into existence trick, and goes about as well as you would expect.
08:27In one of his first desperate attempts to catch the Roadrunner, Wily creates a crude painting of a fake tunnel.
08:32We all know what should happen, but the Roadrunner has an unfathomable amount of toon force power
08:37as he proceeds to run through the painting as if it were a real thing.
08:40Not only that, the Roadrunner even manages to trample Wily by running out of the exact same tunnel.
08:45This shattering of logic should have been enough for our coyote to just give up.
08:53Yet his attempts have continued since 1949.
09:01What do you think was the most absurd moment where science betrayed Wily Coyote?
