00:00Hi, Benedict here. Today I've got the Harley Benton SC550 in faded tobacco, quadruple maple
00:26with top veneer and of course mahogany back and neck. So let's see this thing.
00:56So the specs of this guitar ain't a secret. As you might know, we got our maple top as I mentioned
01:23out on earlier and of course mahogany back and a neck. While we're up here, let's talk a little
01:31bit about the tuners. Vintage style tuners. Nice, slim and sleeky looking. Up front. Then we've got
01:40our fretboard, some trapezoid inlays and the fretboard is made out of jitoba actually.
01:46Then pickups. We got some Roswell pickups. They're made with Alnico 5 magnets. In case you don't know
01:54what Alnico means. Alnico is a magnetic alloy that consists of aluminium, nickel and cobalt.
02:02There are different kind of types. There's Alnico 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and I think a lot more. But for
02:09guitarists, that's pretty much all we need to know about Alnico magnets. And the Alnico 5 is a little
02:16powerful, more powerful than Alnico 1 or 2 or 4. So neck pickup. Here we go.
