00:06office of Tunapuna Member of Parliament, Roger Alexander. It offered a range of free medical
00:12check-ups for those in attendance from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This included blood pressure testing,
00:18eye testing and more. According to the MP, it is important as part of a reduction on the burden
00:25of non-communicable diseases. It's about persons in the constituency and out of the constituency
00:32coming to check their health because we look at health as your request or requirement for your
00:39health. So to be healthy, come and check yourself. Today was an important day for persons to come in
00:46from all walks of life, young, old, whoever you may be, will not turn your way. Come and check yourself.

00:56one aspect of mitigating the NCD epidemic is prevention. So our NGO is really and fully
01:02dedicated towards a mission like this and hopefully it's not the first constituency. We are open up to
01:08all of the others in our country. Vice President and co-founder of HNAT, Dr. Michael Taylor,
01:14praised the effort that went behind ensuring that the event came to fruition. And we are very excited
01:20to have this collaboration with the minister here and this is such an important initiative and we are
01:27actually on our way to helping reduce the incidence of non-communicable diseases in Trinidad and Tobago.
