00:00if you're a diehard smiling you're watching every week like these have been exciting finishes and

00:07exciting tournaments i mean three-man playoff in detroit another playoff this week both sundays

00:13you had 10 plus guys within two or three shots of the lead it seemed like going into the back

00:19nine i know the names weren't big smiley but uh the golf watching was was outstanding yeah you

00:25could even throw in after the open championship when they go play in minnesota at the 3m that's

00:30another week too where the golf scores typically uh get up to close to 20 under par actually

00:35shockingly uh the scores didn't get to 20 under part the john deere actually was a little firmer

00:40than it typically is a year before davis thompson won at 28 under par uh so to only see the guys get

00:46to 18 was a little bit of a surprise especially with the cut that was at five under which is

00:51uh i would say it's on the high side so uh wasn't i was a little surprised to see uh maybe a max

00:56only not get to that 19 20 under par and get the win so i know we were all kind of rooting for max

01:01to get it done and it ended up being an exciting finish with uh with griot uh being in the playoff

01:06and then brian campbell two-time winner now two-time winner uh brian campbell now this year and it's

01:13funny because uh keith stewart who you know comes on with us too on wednesdays before the tournaments and

01:17me and him were kind of talking about this last week like isn't this kind of what the pga tour

01:23envisioned when they set up this kind of new system of top 50 top 75 top 100 keeping cards like

01:30they've now made these tournaments in july and in august heading into the playoff bigger events and

01:38you're going to see bigger names probably in the 3m and the wind because now that crunch to be inside

01:45of those numbers you're going to see more names show up at these places you definitely will i mean

01:49max home was the best example he's 124 in the fedex cup going into the week jumps 24 spots just outside

01:55the top 100 and if you remember top 100 is what gets you into you know have a card for the following

02:03year that's what keeps your job but top 70 is what makes the playoffs and it used to be when i was

02:08playing on tour top 125 made the playoffs so it it like you're saying it definitely is uh brought some

02:14more players playing later in the summer uh at some of these events that typically they would be

02:19skipping
