The Dalai Lama has confirmed that he will have a successor after his death, with the Gaden Phodrang Trust holding sole authority to recognise his future reincarnation.

00:40A foreign ministry spokesperson added that identification must follow the law-drawing system,

00:45a practice used to select three previous Dalai Lamas, though not the current one.
