The PNM's new chairman has offered an apology to members of the party who have been hurt by the party's resounding defeat in the General Election just over two months ago.
The chairman, has issued a call to some 100,000 members of the party to quote "come back home." end quote.
It was a call that was also made by the PNM's new political leader who said she is not a figurehead or a caretaker.

01:10The PNM's new chairman, Marvin Gonzalez, pointed out the serious work ahead for the PNM as he gave an analysis of the party's leadership with regard to its overwhelming defeat in the 2025 general election.
01:26We have repeatedly been told that we did this to ourselves, that it was our own arrogance, our disconnectedness from the ground, our mistreatment of our party stalwarts and loyalists, and our unwillingness to listen to the ground that resulted in our abysmal performance on April the 28th.
01:53MP Gonzalez served as Minister of Public Utilities and Minister of National Security in the 2015-2025 former PNM-led government.
02:04As your new chairman, I want to extend my sincerest apologies to all our members and our supporters who felt hurt, who felt sidelined, who felt ostracized, who felt unheard or invisible because of our actions.
02:24This afternoon, I join with my colleagues and say, we are sorry.
02:29I wish to make a special appeal to all, all our members, all our supporters, including the 100,000-plus voters, PNM voters, who shouted their disapproval on Election Day to come back home.
02:49A similar call was made by the PNM's new political leader, who served as Minister of Planning and Minister of Housing in the former PNM administration.
02:58I say this evening, with conviction and urgency, to every single member of the PNM who stayed home recently, who felt left behind, who said, I used to support them, but I can't take it no more.

03:18We need your honesty.
03:19We need your experience.
03:21Come back to the fold that made this great nation and led us to be great again.
03:27M.P. Beckles said the future of the PNM lies in the hands of its young people.

03:37And the current and the future strength of the PNM also rests on the shoulders of the PNM women.

03:49to ensure all their membership can become better and higher expressions of themselves.
