00:00MV Agusta are launching the latest in a long line of motorcycling tributes to 15-time Grand
00:05Prix World Champion, Giacomo Agostini, this time based around the incoming 4-cylinder
00:11Supervelos 1000 Retro Superbike. The special edition will be known specifically as the
00:17Supervelos 1000 Ago, and will be limited to 83 units worldwide, priced at 83,000 euros,
00:24all in a nod to Agost's 83rd birthday. This sum will also bag you a Certificate of Authenticity,
00:31dedicated bike cover, additional passenger seat and foot pegs, pillion carbon heel guards, and more.
00:37The Italian rider is widely regarded as the best ever, winning eight 500 cubic centimeters world
00:43titles and a further 7 in the 350 cubic centimeters class. He took 122 victories, and 159 podiums from
00:54207 races, as well as 10 wins around the Isle of Man TT course. It's the first new medal we've seen
01:01from MV since their split with KTM parent company Pira Mobility AG, who sold a 50.
01:081% majority stake in the Italian Exotica firm back to former minority shareholders,
01:14Art of Mobility S.A. at the beginning of this year. It follows the reveal of a Siri Oro version of the
01:21Supervelos 1000 shown in July of 2024, with the bike's 998 cubic centimeters motor also found in
01:29other MV models including the Rush 1000, and larger Brutale Nakeds. A smaller three-cylinder
01:36Supervelos 800, sharing similar styling traits to the new Ago Tribute is also already found in the
01:42brand's lineup. Tipping the scales at a claimed 209 kilograms without fuel, the Supervelos 1000 Ago
01:49is dressed in full carbon fiber bodywork, complete with front winglets, and a neat single-seat
01:55unit. Each model is numbered using a real gold plate on the top yoke, with bright yellow number
02:01boards on the fairings and heavy licks of red and silver paint as a nod to Agostini's past racing
02:06machines. The tail section further incorporates a four-exit under-seat exhaust system that's
02:12undoubtedly a nod to the old F4 Superbike, with the side fairing cut away just enough to reveal parts
02:18of the gloss black trellis chassis. Taking the exotic flavoring a little further is the ignition key,
02:24which features a brass coin that's been made from parts of a Victory Trophy won by Agostini at
02:30Imola in the 500 cubic centimeters class. Not only this, but a collaboration with Dainese will see
02:37each of the 83 customers receive a made-to-measure custom works Damone GP3X leather suit, an AGV
02:44pistol GPR helmet, again paying tribute to the Italian racing legend. While leathers and trophy
02:50embossed keys are nice, the Supervellis 1000 should also go just as well as it looks. It might stick
02:56out from the conventional Superbike crowd with its nod to the 70s bodywork, but with a claimed 205.2
03:03brake horsepower on tap at 13.000 RPM and 86LB.FT of torque at 11.000 RPM, it should absolutely fly.
03:15This motor is held in place by a high-strength tubular steel chassis, bolted to a single-sided
03:21swingarm produced in aluminium alloy. Suspension then comes courtesy of O'Leans, with a set of 43mm
03:27NIX hydraulic upside-down forks and a TTX monoshock at the rear, both providing 120mm of
03:36movement. Both ends are electronically adjustable too, with options for compression, rebound,
03:42and preload, with an O'Leans electronic steering damper also sitting up front to prevent unwanted
03:48shakes of the head. Adjustments are made through the 5.5-in TFT dash, as are alterations to the full
03:55suite of rider aids on offer, including wheelie control, cruise control, launch control, and more.
04:02Not only this, but there's integrated GPS via the MV Ride mobile app, plus an integrated
04:08MobiSat anti-theft module with a year's free subscription. The spec list doesn't end there
04:14either, with four-piston Brembo Stylima front calipers working alongside 320mm floating discs.
04:21As you might expect, there's cornering ABS at either end, as well as rear-wheel lift mitigation
04:28during the most aggressive of braking maneuvers. New MV Augusta model platforms coming soon.
04:35With much of MV's output in recent years either based on existing platforms, or special editions,
04:41the Varese brand have now confirmed that a new engine platform is coming later this year,
04:46said to share just 1% carryover parts with the previous generation. The first prototype will
04:52be seen at the 2025 ICMA trade show in Milan this coming autumn, with the firm also stating that the
04:58transfer of MV back to the Art of Mobility team is now also nearing completion. Considering the
05:04challenges we've faced since the early days of KTM's financial difficulties, the progress made in such a
05:10short time speaks volumes about the strength and dedication of our people. MV Augusta Executive
05:16Director, Luca Martin said. From Sharana to every part of our worldwide network, the team has embraced
05:23this new chapter with determination, passion, and a deep sense of responsibility. I'm proud of how far
05:30we've come, together, and even more motivated by the road ahead. MV Augusta is not only reaffirming its
05:37independence. It's laying the foundation for a new era built on excellence and authenticity.
