00:00We begin with the rapidly evolving situation in the Middle East.
00:03Downwards after Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between Israel and Iran,
00:07the U.S. president lashed out at both sides for violating that truce.
00:11He said he was not happy with Israel and spoke with the country's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu from Air Force One
00:18and asked him not to attack Iran and turn Israeli jets around.
00:23For more on where the latest shift in tone from Donald Trump leaves Benjamin Netanyahu,
00:27here's our correspondent Noga Tanopolsky reporting from Jerusalem.
00:32For Israel, for Israelis, this will be very disconcerting
00:36because if anything gave them a sense of confidence in this last week that was very scary,
00:43it was the sense that the United States had Netanyahu, had Israel's back, forgive me.
00:48And in fact, this relates directly to Netanyahu.
00:52Netanyahu is not a popular Prime Minister in Israel
00:55and he made several gambles before launching this Iran operation.
01:01The most risky gamble of all was that he could bring Donald Trump on side,
01:06that he could make Donald Trump join in.
01:08And he seemed to have won that gamble.
01:10But another of his gambles is that the success of the Israeli Mossad and Air Force operation in Iran
01:17would translate into a boost for him,
01:20that he would be able once again to shine as Israel's Mr. Security.
01:24So in that respect, today is disastrous.
01:26We just saw the President of the United States equate the Prime Minister of Israel,
01:32a democratically elected ally, with the supreme leader of Iran.
01:36Trump discussed them in exactly the same breath and in the same angry tone of voice.
01:41And for, you know, it is, I think it's, I'm sorry, I'm not finding the words.
01:48I think it will be very, very unsettling for Israelis.
01:53And for Netanyahu, it's dangerous politically.
01:55I just want to remind our public,
01:57Netanyahu ran in his last election, 2022, under the slogan, sovereignty.
02:03And here he is going to be seen by every Israeli who's watching Donald Trump,
02:09and that's almost every single Israeli, as basically leading a vassal state.
02:14Donald Trump gave orders and the Israeli planes turned around.
02:17This is going to be extremely harmful for his reputation inside.
02:21And here he is going to be seen by all of us.
