00:00So, what makes it so special, the relationship between Azerbaijan and Italy?
00:11Italy is Azerbaijan's biggest trading partner.
00:14And I believe there are structural reasons why that's the case.
00:19Maybe it's related to the position of Italy, geographically speaking, in the Mediterranean.
00:24Maybe it's related to the path that Azerbaijani infrastructure so far has taken shape.
00:34But I believe there is a lot of things that's related to choice, right?
00:39It's not predetermined. It's subjective.
00:41It was a choice by Azerbaijani leadership. It was a choice by Italian leadership.
00:45So, in that sense, I really think that the main aspect of this relationship,
00:51which also feeds into the economic relationship, is political relationship.
00:56The relationship between our states, the relationship between our state leaders is very, very significant.
01:03This is not directly my area, but I feel that in European Union,
01:08Italy is becoming a very, very significant country in terms of the political relationship with Azerbaijan.
01:16Because as every country, Azerbaijan has its plate full of issues.
01:23And because of geography, we have many issues related to European countries, European continent.
01:29And having a friendly country, a trusted relationship with a country of the significance,
01:36of the power, of the technological sophistication, as Italy, is a great asset, which we appreciate.
01:44And at the same time, I'm really also thinking that this cultural aspect of relationships,
01:51Azerbaijani culture and Italian culture, how we can understand each other,
01:56also feeds into how we can trust each other.
01:59Because trust is really in political relationship, in cultural relationship, and in economic relationship.
02:05The underlining, if you ask me to come up with one word that defines the relationship between Azerbaijan and Italy,
02:11Italy, Italy, I would say it's trust, both in politics, in economics, and in societal relationships.
02:17And at the same time, as you know, Azerbaijan is looking beyond traditional energy resources and into green energy resources.
02:25We have every intention to be at the forefront of green energy revolution, of decarbonization, energy efficiency.
02:31And our leadership at COP29 actually continuing, is continuing.
02:35And I would tell you that one of the greatest developments in Azerbaijan, in terms of energy efficiency,
02:42lately, happened in the biggest power plant in Azerbaijan, which was renovated by Italian technology,
02:48by Ansaldo's state-of-the-art turbines, which increased the efficiency of that plant,
02:54the biggest power plant in the South Caucasus, by 30%.
02:58This means that Azerbaijan will be saving hundreds of millions of cubic meters of gas every year
03:04because of Italian technology and because of this corporate relationship that we have.
03:09And beyond this, what I also look forward to having is that Azerbaijan is still planning to expand its gas production
03:17because gas is also the cleanest of fossil fuels.
03:21And at the same time, as natural gas replaces coal and oil, it actually helps decarbonization.
03:27Also, natural gas is very important in terms of balancing renewable energy's intermittency.
03:33In this process, we will need a lot of support.
03:35It takes two to tango.
03:37Azerbaijan needs long-term purchases.
03:40Azerbaijan needs support from MDBs, financial institutions of the European Union.
03:45And in this case, we believe that Italy, as always, will be playing a very significant role.
03:50And as we move towards green energy, decarbonization, green hydrogen, all that relationship, political relationship, the corporate relationship,
03:59all this network of friendships will be the greatest asset in the European continent for us to rely upon,
04:06as I said, to be, as always, on the forefront of this next green energy revolution.
04:11We'll see you next time forever.
04:12, and meet your강도 in the European Union.
04:13Have a great day.
