00:18It was reported that the intruder pretended to be an on-the-job trainee music teacher.
00:31He allegedly got some students to assist him in moving furniture to one of the classrooms.
00:39It was reported that he closed the classroom with himself and some female students inside.
00:48It is alleged that he attempted to molest these female students.
00:54The suspect fled the school compound after the alarm was raised.
00:58Tuta says while some support was offered by the Ministry of Education and the Employee Assistance Program,
01:05more must be done to secure school grounds.
01:08The association says immediate action is needed to prevent a repeat of such an incident.
01:13We understand that the area in which the perimeter fence was breached has not been repaired to this date.
01:22We, along with the members of staff, are also concerned about the complement of security officers assigned to the school.
01:33In response, the Ministry of Education confirms that an unidentified individual was spotted moving through several areas of the Santa Rosa Government Primary School last Tuesday morning.
01:46Officials say the school's principal and staff acted swiftly following established safety protocols and eluding the police.
01:54The incident remains under active investigation by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service with the full cooperation from the Ministry.
02:02As an added measure, the Ministry has initiated a review of the school's security protocols
02:07and is reminding all school administrators and security personnel to remain vigilant.
