In today's GB News Daily Reflection, we speak about the importance of listening."One reason why good listeners are greatly appreciated is because we love to be known and understood."Deep and intimate relationships are built on mutual self-revelation, a sharing of personal information with others that creates bonds and connections. The only way we can know and be known is through a self-unveiling."Similarly, the only way we can know God is if he chooses to reveal himself."God is invisible and infinite. 00:00The Chibi News Daily Reflection
00:04My name is Marcus Mack. Welcome to St Michael's Church in New Haven. In all of my life I've never
00:13ever heard anyone complain about someone who was a good listener, who took the time to truly know
00:19and understand someone. One reason why good listeners are greatly appreciated is because
00:25we love to be known and understood. Deep and intimate relationships are built on mutual
00:32self-revelation, a sharing of personal information with others that creates bonds and connections.
00:39The only way we can know and be known is through a self-unveiling. Similarly, the only way we can
00:46know God is if he chooses to reveal himself. God is invisible and infinite, and as finite creatures,
00:54God is outside of our ability to comprehend. So what does God do? He graciously provides us
01:00with a tangible way to know the truth about him. In the beginning of John's Gospel, we are told that
01:08the Word who was with God and was God became flesh and made his dwelling among us. No one has ever seen
01:15God, but the one and only Son who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father
01:22has made him known. Jesus, who is the Word, became a human being and revealed the invisible God.
01:30God is now knowable through his self-unveiling in Jesus Christ.
