00:00Hello and welcome to Manchester World. My name is Theo Cuesen-Betz and today we're going to be talking about Parklife Festival, which is taking place this weekend in Heaton Park.
00:08Now I was lucky enough to get myself along to Parklife last year so I know first hand just how fun it can be.
00:13But I also understand the difficulties with getting there and getting out of there each day and night.
00:18And as with all festivals there's always going to be a little bit of chaos so this video is going to focus on the admin.
00:23Who's performing, when and where and what transport links can you rely on for getting to and from the festival.
00:28Now let's start with transport. The B Network have a Parklife travel pass available on their app, which will get you access to any tram or bus,
00:35which means you should avoid spending too much time worrying about tickets over the course of the weekend.
00:39It costs just under £15 or £8 each day if you can only make it on either the Saturday or Sunday, so it's definitely worth a purchase to save you some fuss.
00:47Now there are going to be trams running every six minutes from Victoria to Heaton Park, with both the Heaton Park stop and the Bauca Vale stops being very close to the entrance of the park.
00:55Returning trams to the city centre will run until 1.30am. At the latest for those who come in from Bauca Vale, the Heaton Park stop itself will be closing at 9pm.
01:03There's also shuttle buses that will be running from Lever Street in the northern quarter to the grounds until 4.30pm.
01:08More on back to the city centre until the site is clear. They'll be operating from a temporary bus stop inside the park.
01:13And there's obviously also access to bike parking spaces as well as the possibility of an hour-long walk.
01:18That's the bulk of that. Let's have a look at the star performers and where they'll be and when.
01:23On the Vale stage on the Saturday, you'll have a great time because Rudimental are going to be on stage just after 6,
01:27followed by George Smith and then 50 Cent, with his set finishing just before 11.
01:32And Charlie XCX is on the very same stage the next day starting at 9.30pm.
01:36Those are your headliners, but there is a full schedule online if you want to find your favourite acts on there.
01:41Now the key thing is enjoy yourself and follow Manchester World for more.
