00:00hi Derbyshire times here at Chesterfield flea market we've come to have a look try

00:07and bag a bargain there's everything here from antiques and tools to comics

00:12clothes and and much much more so yeah let's go and have a look

00:21so what's your name Denise Serno Smith okay not with a Y okay and what's your

00:33store it is called vintage clothing Yorkshire how long have you been at this

00:38particular flea market since I was 15 I know

00:49scary so and this particular this particular outlet this particular part

01:00how long has this store been in existence well this stall unfortunately should be

01:05at the top end of the store but because they're changing the market into a really

01:09big swanky fantastic modern modernizing the whole Chesterfield markets the whole

01:15the stallholders they've pushed us slightly down to the bottom but in the next few

01:19months in September it'll sort of be a really great wake-up call for

01:24Chesterfield itself because it'll just put the market back on the map with all

01:29the new stalls so unfortunately we've been pushed down to the end until they sort of

01:34resurrect all the new stalls which will be marvelous and what yes and what are you

01:39thinking about that what's what's that going to be like when they finish it's

01:43going to be amazing so the stalls are sort of all concrete more firmly to the

01:47ground the structures just being fab they've been doing it for over a year now so

01:52it will generate more people it's supposed to be going to be possibly one of the

01:57biggest markets in the area so hopefully we could get lots of customers into the

02:04area we'll just have to see how are you doing at the moment on these these on these blue market

02:11days very slow at the moment we're just all fingers crossed we're just hoping that once we

02:17get over to the other end and the markets also have been rejuvenated then I'm sure that it will be

02:22quite good for everybody yes just a blip at the moment right okay and so just because in your

02:30particular case because of your position yes struggling a bit yeah we're struggling a bit

02:34because of the position of the stalls yeah and because we've been slightly pushed right down to

02:38the bottom so we're having we've got what we've got and we just have to sort of carry on through it

02:44market traders are very good at that we sort of very good at weathering the storm literally

02:50so what's the what's the benefit of coming to a market like a modern stall like yours rather than

02:56going online going to Primark going you know all that kind of thing what's what's the benefit for

03:03people because you can because you sort of meet people people in shops these days don't have that

03:09much time where people on the markets we chat we need a sale it's sort of we're chatting to people

03:16it's more friendly you meet different people as you go on it just brings that nice vibe to it being

03:21outdoors in a lovely sort of beautiful area like this all cobbled you know lovely little cafes and

03:29bars and things it's just more friendly and what tell us about your stall then what's what's the

03:37what's your theme what's your what's your what's your motivation the motivation is to sort of sell

03:44second and items from all sorts clothing crockery jewelry bits costume wooden wear all sorts of

03:54selective items and a really good discount price and we're not greedy on the market so we just try

04:01to make out of a small amount of profit it also stops going to landfill so by recycling the vintage

04:09fashion everything all this would go to landfill so that's a massive plus point yeah and just talk

04:17us through something something that you're uh something that you find quite interesting that

04:22you've got well what i find quite interesting at the moment are these little wooden pixie boots that are

04:28so different that could be used as candles you could put a candle in them and then there's like the shoes

04:35there's the amazing vintage items there's this gorgeous cotton frock here this sort of thing that

04:42is really beautiful and then we've got this one here there's the crochet on the back there various

04:49items of crockery here these are beautiful really gorgeous so nice so we've got lots of like all sorts

04:57going on so yes and where do you where do you get your stuff from how do you source it we source it from i

05:05might have calls contacting me or i might sort of find a car boot somewhere i can't tell you that

05:10because they're my secret little gems um and i'm out there looking sourcing all the time yes

05:17and what would you say to people who kind of uh you know are thinking about getting out to the market

05:23but aren't sure um what would you say i'd say do it because it's a day out it's a nice family day out

05:31you could pick a bargain up if you're an online seller yourself you could sell it for more money

05:36so i'd say get out there get some fresh air enjoy the scenery enjoy the people and chat talking is so

05:44so important
