00:03An award-winning Derbyshire baker has revealed plans for an exciting new joint venture.
00:09Following a standout year in 2024, Tom Martin has once again secured a place as a finalist in the prestigious Baking Industry Awards 2025.
00:17Last year, Tom was celebrated as a Baker of the Year finalist and took home the award for Best Sourdough and Best Tin Loaf at the Craft Bakers Association Awards,
00:26as well as Britain's Best Loaf 2024 trophy.
00:30Now his award-winning success is rising into something even more meaningful,
00:34as Tom and his wife Emily are set to fulfil their long-cherished dream and launch their very own bakery, Peak & Stone.
00:41Work is now underway to launch the bakery at a unit on the Boythorpe Business Park in Chesterfield.
00:46Starting with stalls at pop-ups and farmers markets in September,
00:50Peak & Stone will bring hand-crafted loaves direct to the local community that inspired them.
00:54An online shop is set to launch as well, with plans to supply a select number of local cafes and restaurants,
01:00many of whom have already expressed interest in their signature bakes.
01:03World-renowned street artist Peaches is calling on the community in Chesterfield to share ideas for a new mural
01:11that she has been commissioned to paint in the town centre.
01:14The contemporary street artist will host a drop-in day outside Chesterfield Library today between 10am and 2pm,
01:20when she will be looking for inspiration from residents on what her creation could depict.
