A dry start for the vast majority of us this morning, with cloudy conditions across the south, Northern Ireland and north and west Scotland. Some rain will affect the far north of Scotland through to lunchtime. Cloud will build over Scotland, but will tend to clear across the south. Widely warm in the sunshine, locally hot in central and southeastern parts, and feeling humid. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 11/06/2025. 00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Wednesday morning, which is a calm morning with some sunshine around.
00:07Let me take you through the detail. Across southern counties, expect a little bit more cloud first thing, but it is breaking.
00:13For much of England and Wales, central and southern Scotland, some sunshine, a little bit more clouds coming in across Northern Ireland
00:18and some showery bursts clearing the Outer Hebrides, clipping Sutherland as well as Caithness and pushing towards Orkney.
00:25You could see a little bit of rain here through the middle part of the day.
00:28Elsewhere, the cloud could build through lunchtime into the afternoon. Most places will be dry.
00:34I say most places because towards the southwest, we could see the onset of more cloud than one or two showers here.
00:40Temperatures then coming in around 21 across Scotland, 18 or 19 for Northern Ireland, depending if you see some cloud breaks.
00:47Further south across Wales, 23 to 25 and a 26 anywhere from northwest England down towards the southeast.
00:53Now, that showery rain, which I just spoke about, will slowly move across Republic of Ireland towards the west country, as well as Wales, central and southern England.
01:02The winds will pick up through this evening and overnight, certainly along the eastern side.
01:07And this rain is likely to turn thundery with the risk of some lightning strikes as well.
01:11We'll see some dry skies anywhere from mid-Wales, northwards and eastwards, but that rain could turn heavy into tomorrow morning across Northern Ireland, Western Scotland, Wales, and then by lunchtime north and northwest of England.
01:25By this point, we will see showers developing towards the south as well as the west, and these could actually turn thundery as well.
01:31Some brighter skies across the eastern fringe of England. Temperatures here, 26 degrees Celsius, generally speaking, the high teens or the low 20s.
01:39But notice this wind, it will be rather gusty across eastern counties of Scotland, the eastern fringe of England, and a bit of a breeze across the Irish seacoast as well.
01:49Now, into Friday, more wet weather on its way. Certainly through the morning, a mix of cloud and sunshine across Scotland, England and Wales.
01:55Also Northern Ireland seeing some fine weather, but notice this rain developing and moving northwards.
02:00It's going to intensify through the morning into the afternoon, and again, we'll see the increasing risk of thunder, lightning and hail through the middle to the latter part of the day.
02:11Further thundery downpours expected to develop across Channel Coast and again, pushing ever northwards.
02:17So it's going to be a lively end to the day, a hot one for more central and eastern areas.
02:22Very humid wherever you are. And temperatures in the north, again, around 21 degrees Celsius.
02:27But we could see a 29 towards the southeast, 28 for East Anglia, 26 for mid Wales.
02:33So that's a picture through Friday. A lively day. We could see some impactful rain, particularly across western Scotland later.
02:39Some heavy downpours. Things tend to freshen up on Saturday.
02:43The breeze will be keen, so a brisk wind coming through and delivering some showers, which will be fairly scattered.
02:50Some sunshine in between and temperatures not as high. See you later.
