Some stubborn cloud in Scotland, but a bright and warm start for the vast majority today. Cloud tends to break up in northern areas, but a hot and clear day ahead for England and Wales, with very high UV levels. Into this evening, cloud should clear northwards, and a warm night ahead especially in the south. - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the morning of 19/06/2025. 00:00Hello there and a very good morning to you on this Thursday morning which has been very warm overnight across central and southern parts, uncomfortable for some.
00:08Let's start our forecast though across northern parts of Scotland where this morning we do have some stubborn cloud anywhere from the central about towards western Scotland.
00:17A bit of a cool one to start the day across the far north east of Scotland but some sunshine and a bright morning with sunshine for Northern Ireland and the bulk of England and Wales.
00:26Winds are fairly light, a bit of a breeze down towards Cornwall and through the morning into the afternoon not a lot of change.
00:33However, across the central belt of Scotland we will find that cloud breaking up as this weak weather front moves its way northwards and tends to fade away.
00:43Now for Shetland, one or two showers here but a fine day across Cateness as well as Orkney and some brighter skies coming through for the rest of Scotland away from probably the far west.
00:54Elsewhere, strong sunshine, high UV levels, some high levels of pollen as well.
00:59Winds remain fairly light and a warmer day all round across this east coast as temperatures arrive around 24 degrees Celsius.
01:05But 28 for Liverpool and Leeds, 23 for Glasgow and Edinburgh, Belfast coming in around 24 Celsius, 28 likely across Bristol as well as Cardiff.
01:17But for East Wales, the Midlands, down towards the south east we could see temperatures peaking around 30 degrees Celsius.
01:24So feeling hot here.
01:26Now through this evening and overnight we continue to see that cloud clear northwards.
01:31So some late sunshine across many areas, a pleasant evening, a warm one as well.
01:36Notice one or two showers just lurking towards the West Country Irish Sea coast.
01:40And yet again we'll see temperatures hold around 18 degrees Celsius down towards England and Wales further north, 13, 12.
01:49So a milder start to the day with some sunshine.
01:53Now through Friday, not a lot of change.
01:56There's a small chance of a shower as the cloud builds.
01:59Most places will be dry though.
02:01And again with sunny spells, blue sky and those temperatures really responding very well to the sunshine.
02:07Coming in around 24 or 25 towards the north, 31 anywhere from Mid Wales down towards the home counties, 27 along this eastern strip here.
02:17Places such as Hull and Newcastle, West Country, seeing 25.
02:21Now through Friday evening, yet again it's going to be uncomfortable for some with temperatures holding up.
02:26Few showers in the mix into the early hours of Saturday morning.
02:30Certainly some showers across Shetland as well.
02:32Hazy sunshine through the day towards the west.
02:34Sunny spells elsewhere and those showers fairly few and far between.
02:39But it is going to be a hot day.
02:41So peak of temperatures like to be 32, 33 degrees Celsius.
02:45We'll like to see a 26 across the central belt of Scotland, 24, 25 for Belfast.
02:50Down towards the southwest coming in around 24, 25 Celsius as well.
02:54More of a breeze on Saturday.
02:57And then into Sunday, the chance of some showers towards the west.
03:00There will be more cloud here as well.
03:03Further east, we hang on to that heat, that hot weather.
03:06Temperatures 31, 30 degrees Celsius.
03:09Wherever you are, take care.
03:10Remember UV levels are high.
03:12And stay up to date with all the forecasts.
03:14See you later.
