00:00All right. Now, this is the strain. One of the stranger stories of the year is Jordan Alvarez of the Houston Astros. Astros are surging. Alvarez has been in and out of the lineup with these like strange injuries and wrist, I think. I don't know. It's been a bizarre year for him. So you're buying this banking that he's healthy and you're buying this banking, George. There's not something else going on here that we don't know about that Houston's hiding or something like that, you know, because they don't have to really disclose everything, to be honest with you.
00:28What do you make of this player? I don't know. This is maybe the one that we're going to discuss that I'm going to just not have an opinion on, basically, to say, hey, look, I'm not going to buy. I'm not going to sell. I'd like more info.
00:41Well, they found what a fractured hand, right, on, was it last Sunday? Oh, last weekend, whatever it was. So how long does that keep them out for? They're not really saying here, but you figure if you get them back by July, all right, I would probably, I'm a risk taker a little bit.
00:58If I need power, all right, you know, let's see if I can get them cheaply, $0.70, $0.75, or someone who needs to move them now because they need something now, and I'm in a good spot, I would probably take a shot.
01:08Hand injuries, wrist injuries, finger injuries, they do worry me for hitters, right, because what if that hand is not as strong as it was, and he's not going to be able to drive the ball for those home runs?
01:18So I'd want to pay a lesser price, but I would certainly inquire here, especially if I needed power.
01:23If I'm in first place and I got, you know, hey, I can take a little bit of a risk here and maybe go for broke, I might just do that for Alvarez and the Houston Astros.
01:32So, yeah, I think I would buy you and Alvarez, yeah, but like I said, I'm not paying anywhere near full price.
01:38Now, next player, Tyler Soderstrom, boy, George, are the A's lucky that the Rockies exist? Otherwise, we would be just destroying the A's, like, we honestly, like, I mean, they lose 19 out of 20, is that right?
01:52You know, exiting April, we thought, hey, Tyler Soderstrom is the breakout player of the year. He's leading the league in home runs. I think he had nine or 10.
02:01Slowed down a little bit here. I mean, these still are really good numbers for a player you expected nothing from.
02:06We got to acknowledge that, but you also have to acknowledge that maybe we've seen the best from him this season.
02:14Oh, I think that's fair. I mean, the last seven days, he's betting, what, 200 here?
02:18OPS is still fine at 990, but it is, listen, it is what it is, right? He might qualify a catcher.
02:25So, I don't know if you're getting rid of him unless you have another good catcher there because you probably draft him a catcher.
02:29You know, the fact that his outfield eligibility is a bonus, but what second catcher, I mean, okay, maybe he got Baldwin.
02:35All right, you picked him up during the year, fine, and he's your outfield now, and you can't afford to move him.
02:40Bottom line is this, someone wants to trade him in that ballpark, but the weather's going to get warmer and warmer and warmer.
02:45I'll give him to me. I will take him.
02:47Odds Roy is better than my catcher now.
02:49The little strip that drives me nuts, and they keep benching him every other game here for Cushing, which is just insane in my opinion.
02:55But it is what it is there, but I want Soderstrom.
02:57I think he'll be fine here.
02:59The average might hurt me, but I'll live with that.
03:00Finally, let's get to a player that we could have done this the last five years, George, and we would have said bye across the board.
03:09I'm out, man.
03:10I don't know what's going on with Odds, but I'm out.
03:13This is two years in a row.
03:15Looks the same.
03:16Two 34, six home runs, six steals, 24 runs driven in.
03:20You tell me, George.
03:21You willing to take this?
03:23Not anymore.
03:24No, I'm pretty much out on every second baseman.
03:28They're all driving me crazy.
03:29None of them can hit this year, so I'm right there with Albies.
03:31It's the Atlanta Braves problem here.
03:33No thanks.
