00:00All right, so let's go 8 through 14 here.
00:02Honestly, if you missed last week's show, George and I broke it down.
00:06Josh Naylor, if he does what he did last year,
00:09he is a top three fantasy baseball first baseman,
00:12but the rankings are telling you that no one believes
00:14that those stolen bases that he had last year were legit.
00:19Strange player to see stealing that many,
00:21but he was a fantasy superstar when you're pushing 30 stolen bases
00:25from a guy that doesn't look like he's going to do it.
00:26But then you have Ben Rice, Vinny Pascantino of the Kansas City Royals.
00:31Soderstrom has some qualification with the A's at first base,
00:33so to Salvador Perez, they're there too.
00:36Michael Bush on Chicago, and then Yandy Diaz
00:39close out the ADP in the top 14.
00:43You know, George, it ain't great, man.
00:44Like, it's okay.
00:45Like, I think I could find some diamonds in the rough at this position,
00:48but I'm just so used to this position being,
00:51okay, I'm going to draft somebody here.
00:53If you're still using batting average, whatever, by the way,
00:55he's going to hit 250, he's going to hit 25 home runs,
00:58he's going to drive in 100 runs, driven, 100 runs.
01:01And I can find 10 of those.
01:03I don't know that I can find 10 of those.
01:05I feel like you're sort of filling in the position.
01:08You know, you're right.
01:09I completely agree with you once again.
01:12This used to be your anchor position, right?
01:13Oh, you drifted to your first base.
01:15This is my player, and I'm building around this.
01:17You know, well, it's not that way anymore.
01:19And I agree with you.
01:20You can wait on first base if you don't get around with top guys.
01:22I mean, we only talked about a couple of them.
01:24I don't want to Devers and San Fran.
01:27No, Olsen is really a home run right now.
01:29We're nothing much at all there.
01:30If he's getting old, I mentioned Freeman has issues there.
01:33I don't mind waiting down this list.
01:35All right.
01:36Taking a Ben Rice, I think he's going to have a good season.
01:37I am high on Pasquantino.
01:39All right.
01:40They also moved the fences into Kansas City.
01:42That should help his power numbers here.
01:44Probably would as well, by the way.
01:45Guys, I'm big on there.
01:47Now, you mentioned Naylor.
01:50I mean, Craig, 20, 92, batted 295, interviews, OPS was 363, 353, stole 30 bases.
02:00How many bases?
02:01I mean, to make him a legitimate second or third round pick, how many bases does he need?
02:07He's not going to steal 30, right, Craig?
02:09Can he do 20?
02:10I don't know.
02:10Can he give me 20?
02:10I don't know.
02:11He got the big contract now.
02:12Will he run still?
02:13Maybe.
02:14You know, that's...
02:16Those numbers...
02:17I don't know.
02:17Those numbers...
02:18Where would you take them?
02:19Nick Kurtz's numbers, I'd still take Nick Kurtz.
02:22But if I guaranteed you those numbers from Naylor this year, he is the second best first
02:29baseman in fantasy baseball.
02:31He's a top second round pick.
02:32If you could guarantee those, he's a top second round pick.
02:34Yeah.
02:35It's not even a question.
02:37Right.
02:37It's just that we just don't know.
02:40It's hard to believe.
02:42Right.
02:42It's boom of us.
02:43Boom of us.
02:44I mean, let's just call it what it is.
02:46He's a big guy.
02:47Like, you don't expect a guy that looks like that to steal 30 bases.
02:51You just don't.
02:52And then all of a sudden, we got to August, and it was like, oh my gosh, this guy has
02:5420
02:55steals?
02:55Where did this come from?
02:56And I understand, listen, it's easier to steal bases.
03:00But, I mean, the guy who's drafted by Miami, I remember seeing him many years ago, and then
03:05on to San Diego.
03:06I never thought that was in his game.
03:08And here we are 10 years later, and he's a stolen base machine.
03:11Maybe they unlock something with him in terms of steals, and we'll see if that happens yet
03:17again.
03:17But let's do this.
03:19We have so many other players to talk about here.
03:22And I really feel like our next tier of first baseman, or somewhere where I'm going to
03:28want to take a shot on.
03:30So let's take a quick look here, and then we'll continue the conversation.
03:34But for me, now look, you have a catcher in Contreras that plays first base.
03:39Walker, I don't know what they're going to do with him in Houston.
03:41I like Torkelson.
03:43I like Burleson.
03:44I like Aranda.
03:45I like Murakami.
03:46I may take chances on all those guys, George, ahead of the previous ADP list, honestly.
03:52Yeah, I said, if you're waiting on first base, you mentioned the guy, I like Torkelson, you
03:56know, in Detroit, I think, once again.
03:57I think this guy, what I'd rather have as my quarter infielder, sure.
04:01But if I waited, you know, I'm talking around eight, nine, double digits, and he's there,
04:05all right, it means I stocked up on maybe my outfielders or pitching, whatever it might
04:09be.
04:10I don't mind taking a shot with Torkelson.
04:11The power will be there.
04:12I'm worried about the average, but I can pretty much say this about so many places,
04:16but I'm going to need to make up those bases somewhere.
04:18That's always my problem.
