00:17We're here today to announce a major update in an important case.

00:22Abrego Garcia has landed in the United States to face justice.

00:26On May 21st, a grand jury in the Middle District of Tennessee returned a sealed indictment

00:33charging Abrego Garcia with alien smuggling and conspiracy to commit alien smuggling in

00:40violation of Title 8 U.S.C. 1324.

00:44We want to thank President Bukele for agreeing to return Abrego Garcia to the United States.

00:51Our government presented El Salvador with an arrest warrant, and they agreed to return

00:57him to our country.

00:59We're grateful to President Bukele for agreeing to return him to our country to face these

01:04very serious charges.

01:06This is what American justice looks like.

01:10Upon completion of his sentence, we anticipate he will be returned to his home country of

01:16El Salvador.

01:18The grand jury found that over the past nine years, Abrego Garcia has played a significant

01:25role in an alien smuggling ring.

01:30They found this was his full-time job, not a contractor.

01:35He was a smuggler of humans and children and women.

01:42He made over 100 trips, the grand jury found, smuggling people throughout our country, MS-13

01:51members, violent gang terrorist organization members throughout our country.
