U.S. President Donald Trump signed a proclamation banning nationals from 12 countries from entering the United States, citing the need to protect against foreign terrorists and other security threats.

00:08According to him, the move was needed to protect against what he called as foreign terrorists and other security threats.
00:17The countries affected are Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Yemen.
00:30The entry of people from seven other countries, Burundi, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, Turkmenistan and Venezuela will be partially restricted.
00:41He added that the list is subject to revision based on whether material improvements are made.
00:47And likewise, new countries can be added as threats emerge around the world.
00:51The proclamation is effective on Monday, June 9th at 12.01am EDT.
00:56Visas issued before that date will not be revoked, the orders say.
