Gosforth Park’s Outdoor Cinema is returning in June. Packed with family fun entertainment, delicious food from local businesses and raising money to go back into the community, the event is to be enjoyed by all!

00:00Yeah, my name's James Lavelle, I'm the store manager at Edwin the Park.
00:05So Edwin the Park is a neighbourhood cafe and obviously a part of being a
00:09neighbourhood business is to sort of be part of the community and so we want to
00:14provide as much as we can back to the community that sort of has been so good
00:19to us and as a business and so obviously when we've been here the last sort of
00:24two years when the cinema has been happening and we sort of like jumped at
00:28the opportunity to sort of help out and sponsor the event this year. So it's a
00:32two-day outdoor cinema event happening in this lovely park and it's running over
00:37the Saturday and the Sunday and there's four screenings a day and all the
00:41proceeds go to the playground so fund to help improve it. So it's in need of
00:47some repairs and they're also trying to improve the equipment available in this
00:50play area and they want to try and make it inclusive and sort of like a really
00:54nice play area. I mean to be inclusive and to allow everyone to play I think is
01:01like quite an important thing and just in general it's not outside of the park
01:05itself and I think it's just a really good sort of pointers to have. So the
01:10local area itself is full of young families and so it's quite important that
01:14us as a local community provide a really good place for the families that come and
01:19hang out and I think as a whole it's like it's a good communal like sort of hot spot
01:24and people meet here all the time and it's quite a nice urban area for being so
01:29close to Newcastle City Centre and so yeah I just think it's nice to have these
01:33sort of spaces available especially in the area that we currently
01:37work and live in. So apart from the sponsorship itself and we are going to
01:42have a barbecue over in the area itself and we'll be providing smash burgers and
01:46hot dogs and the smash burgers we always sort of do them as a special and they
01:51always go down really well as a treat so yeah we just can't wait to get them
01:55burgers smashed really yeah. Adding to the excitement there's a live screening of
02:00the England football match during half-time in the second half at least
02:04every sports coaching is hosting fun football activities for the kids. Families
02:09can also enjoy testing the speed of their own shots and getting their faces
02:13painted a fantastic experience for all ages. An outdoor cinema is really cool and the
02:20Gosser Central Park is a fantastic place to come hang and it's all the money is
02:25going to a great cause and it's just a great thing to do and bring your friends
02:30bring your family it's just a good area to sort of just come and hang there's
02:33some really good movies happening that are like that's sort of appealable to both
02:39families and so for everyone really and very good selection and including the
02:43football as well. With a great mix of screenings food options and family
02:48friendly entertainment, Gosfords Park Royalty Cinema offers the perfect
