00:00As a self-proclaimed food critic, I wanted to taste test the most expensive macarons in Paris,
00:06which are these gorgeous macarons from La Duit, versus the cheapest macarons I could find in Paris.
00:12Macarons, if you don't know about them, are the famous pastry or the famous baked good, I think, in all of Paris.
00:20And they can get pretty expensive, especially the ones from La Duit.
00:24But then I went to the grocery store and found some really cheap macarons so I could compare.
00:30The La Duit macarons are some of the most popular you can buy in the city here in Paris.
00:37And some of the macarons go up to $20 a piece, which is absolutely crazy.
00:42You'll always find them inside of a luxury or designer store because they're so fancy.
00:48So I got a box of eight macarons from La Duit, which is the smallest amount you can purchase.
00:54And then I got a box from the grocery store, which equals about $1 each.
00:58No, like $0.50 each macaron.
01:02So super cheap.
01:03The cheapest ones I could find from the grocery store here in Paris.
01:06And the most expensive ones at La Duit, so I could compare.
01:10And I got the exact same flavors.
01:13So I'm here to taste test and tell you guys.
01:16So the first one I tried was the vanilla one from the grocery store.
01:19And it was absolutely delicious, like insanely delicious.
01:22So then I tried the vanilla one from La Duit.
01:25When I tell you they tasted the exact same.
01:29Then I had a raspberry one from the grocery store.
01:33Delicious.
01:34I had a raspberry one from La Duit.
01:36And when I tell you, I'm not even kidding, they taste identical.
01:41They're crunchy on the outside, chewy on the inside.
01:43Not too sweet.
01:44They melt in your mouth.
01:46I tried the chocolate one from the grocery store.
01:47It was the same.
01:48The chocolate one from La Duit, absolutely identical and insanely different in price.
