00:00The world really needs a messy villain.
00:02The world does.
00:03Villain?
00:04Supergirl is not a villain.
00:05Hero, babe.
00:06Hero.
00:07Hello, I'm Megan Fahey.
00:09And I'm Mia Alcock.
00:10And this is Portrait Mad.
00:11With Harper's Bazaar.
00:16Today, we are painting portraits of each other.
00:18So it's going to be great.
00:22OK, cool.
00:23Here we go.
00:26I don't know.
00:27Do you wet it first?
00:28Do I look like I'm eating too long?
00:30I'm going to dry your pupils first.
00:32Whoa.
00:32Whoa, I'm getting decision fatigue.
00:34You have dilated pupils already, for sure.
00:37Have you been up to, girl?
00:39How do you unwind after a long day on set?
00:42I like to have a glass of wine here and there.
00:45I like to watch garbage television.
00:47Well, when I say garbage, I don't really mean garbage.
00:49Yeah, careful.
00:50I just mean I like to watch things that
00:52are familiar and comforting to me.
00:54Right now, for like the 12th time,
00:56I'm rewatching Friday Night Lights,
00:57the TV show, which is one of the best television shows ever.
01:01So when I say garbage, I'm lying.
01:06I like to read, wash my face, wash my hair,
01:09and like eat something in bed.
01:11A nice snack.
01:12I love eating in bed.
01:13Have a really hot shower.
01:15Like a really hot shower.
01:16OK, well, now you only have one pupil.
01:18That was that one.
01:19We lost it.
01:20Gone.
01:21I can have one eye, you know?
01:24You're going to be red.
01:25I've accidentally made you this beautiful hue of fuchsia pink.
01:29What was the most draining film or series that you worked on?
01:33Supergirl was pretty draining.
01:35Yeah, I was going to say Supergirl must have been.
01:37Sirens was really emotionally draining.
01:39Lots of crying and running.
01:41Probably my most draining thing was Drop,
01:44because every scene of that movie was like complete peril.
01:47What do you mean by peril?
01:48Like, you know, the stakes were really high
01:50and it was just like spooky and to be in that space
01:53every single day for six weeks was like fully exhausting.
01:57Fully exhausting.
01:58Yeah.
01:59You're pink, too.
02:00How did you prepare to play sisters in Sirens?
02:06We kind of just like hung out.
02:08And neither of us have sisters, so.
02:11That's true.
02:12It was actually really nice to have a sister.
02:14And I've always wanted an older sister because I'm the eldest,
02:16so it was really lovely.
02:19What is it like between you two when the camera's cut
02:21after a big fight scene?
02:23Oh, we hate each other.
02:24No, we got really sad.
02:25It made us so sad.
02:27No, it actually made us really sad.
02:28We were always so sad.
02:30We would usually hug.
02:32We would hug.
02:32But we have like all of our scenes together like
02:35my favorite in the show.
02:36What did you learn from working with Julianne Moore?
02:39Oh my God, so many things.
02:40Such a pro.
02:41She's so generous and wonderful.
02:43We both just felt so lucky to be like witnessing her.
02:47She's the most effortless actor.
02:50And the grace and kind of her being a team player
02:52was really inspiring.
02:53Of all the characters you've played, whose style resembles your own the most?
03:00Ooh.
03:01Not really any of them.
03:03When I was doing Sutton on the Bowl Type, she was like fashionista.
03:07And I'm deeply not a fashionista, so not her.
03:10And then my girl in Drop was wearing one outfit the whole time.
03:14And I'm not a big fan of jumpsuits because you can't pee in them,
03:17including the one I was wearing on that set.
03:19Oh my God.
03:20And Devon is honestly probably the closest to how I really dress.
03:24Yeah.
03:25Or at least how I dressed in like middle school.
03:29Like some of her jewelry and stuff, like the punky kind of like thousand bracelets.
03:33I did a little bit of that in middle school.
03:35Really?
03:36Yeah, it was...
03:37What were you like in middle school?
03:38A little emo.
03:39A little emo.
03:40A little emo.
03:41Sleek a little bit.
03:43Painting is hard.
03:45It's not feeling hard to me.
03:46Nellie, what would you say is the most Supergirl thing about you in your life?
03:50Aww.
03:51Aww.
03:52When you meet Supergirl, you're going to realize she's kind of just me in a cape.
03:55She's a complete mess, but in like the best way.
03:57The world really needs a messy villain.
04:00The world does.
04:01We...
04:02Villain?
04:03Supergirl is not a villain.
04:04Hero, babe.
04:05Hero.
04:06I'm sorry.
04:07I'm a messy villain.
04:08You're like the sweetest thing.
04:09Aww.
04:10See how I tricked you into saying that?
04:12Oh my God.
04:13I just so fell for that.
04:14Ugh.
04:15This definitely looks like Millie.
04:20Is there one celebrity you're ever mistaken for?
04:23I've never mistaken for anyone.
04:26That sounds really bratty.
04:27I meant like, no one knows who I am.
04:31I don't get mistaken for anyone either, but I do sometimes get told that I remind people
04:38of Michelle Pfeiffer, which I really feel like I don't deserve, but it is a very nice thing
04:42to wear.
04:43She's hot.
04:44She's amazing.
04:45She's amazing.
04:46And so cool as a human.
04:48She's like my style icon.
04:49Is she?
04:50Always chic.
04:51Never trying that hard.
04:53You know?
04:54Oh my God.
04:55Every choice that I make is so bad.
04:57What is the best piece of fashion or beauty advice you've received?
05:02It took me a very long time to realize that getting regular facials is a game changer.
05:08Yeah.
05:09I've just started that.
05:09And now I do it and I try very hard to like do it once a month if I can.
05:15When I met Julianne Moore I was like, give me the list of the products.
05:19Like what are we doing?
05:20That woman's skin.
05:21Her skin is like.
05:22She's luminous.
05:23She's luminous.
05:24I have never been given advice ever in my life.
05:28No, that's a lie.
05:29I've never been given advice with like fashion stuff.
05:32But my mom would always say take one piece of clothing off before you leave the house.
05:36That's cool.
05:37It feels like a good thing.
05:38Who is at the top of your bucket list of actors you would want to work with?
05:45Kate Winslet for me for sure.
05:46Oh, that's a good one.
05:47Kate Blanchett.
05:48Mmm.
05:49Just as a fellow Australian.
05:50Yeah.
05:51She would be my pick.
05:52What is the most unexpected role you auditioned for?
05:57Lucky House of the Dragon.
05:58Because I was living at home throwing warehouse parties with my friends.
06:02And then I got this like anonymous audition for House of the Dragon and then I got it.
06:06And I was like, what is happening in the world?
06:08This is insane.
06:09That's very cool.
06:10Unexpected.
06:11Probably by Lotus.
06:12I use your water.
06:14I haven't even touched it.
06:17I've just been using different brushes.
06:19I've just been.
06:20Yeah, that's smarter.
06:28Done.
06:32Megan, you shut it off!
06:34I love how the blush is gray.
06:36So basically my approach to this was I wanted to just really get the dimensions of your face.
06:45So this is the contour.
06:47I did forget the whites of your eyes.
06:50Couldn't figure out how to make brown, so that's why your eyebrows are gray.
06:53That's tea.
06:54It's hot.
06:55And your roots could have been blended a little more.
06:57I don't want you to take that personally.
06:59That's not what your hair looks like.
07:00I think I look beautiful.
07:01I feel great about the flower in your hair.
07:03I love it.
07:04This is my one.
07:05Wait, can I keep it?
07:06I gave you purple hair because I couldn't make brown.
07:09I like it.
07:10And I thought purple was fun.
07:12I look possessed.
07:13I know.
07:14I look like I'm like this.
07:17That's why I said to you, I was like, babe, I'm so sorry.
07:19Did you sew dirty with the eyes?
07:21And then I felt bad for not giving you a jaw, so I just did the black over it.
07:26That's going up, man.
07:27That's right above the mantelpiece.
07:29Thanks so much for watching and be sure to check out...
07:32Sirens on Netflix.
07:34Yes, please.
07:59Thanks so much for watching.
