Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne wouldn’t rate their painting skills too highly, so it’s anybody’s guess how well they can capture each other on canvas. In this episode of “Portrait Mode,” the ‘Platonic’ co-stars share their most Canadian and Aussie traits (ketchup chips and Vegemite included), reflect on why they rarely turn down roles, and give a nod to the actors who passed on the parts they’ve made iconic. They also put their friendship to the test in a rapid-fire round of “Platonic or Not?,” debating whether 3AM texts, Paris getaways, and shared hotel rooms can really stay in the friend zone. Seth may have tapped into his inner nine-year-old for his painting, but Rose delivered something surprisingly accurate. 00:56Rose, what's something fans would be surprised to learn about Seth?

01:03He plays larger-than-life characters sometimes, and he's actually low-key.

01:07I'm much smaller than life.

01:08Yeah, he's, like, low-key.

01:10I think he was a shyness to him, and I think, you know, when you're very well-known and beloved,

01:15people can project a lot onto you.

01:17That is true.

01:18And also, you know, I say this all the time, but he's Canadian.

01:21I am Canadian.

01:28Seth, what's the most Canadian thing about you?

01:34I enjoy ketchup chips.

01:35That is a Canadian cuisine.

01:37I'd say smoking weed is a pretty Canadian trait in many ways.

01:42It is federally legal in Canada, as it is not in America, yeah.

01:45I'm trying to be polite and cordial.

01:48Rose, what's the most Aussie thing about you?

01:51The most Aussie thing about me is I eat Vegemite toast every day.

01:54In my trailer, I will set up a toaster with butter, sourdough bread, and Vegemite toast.

01:59I mean, it is tragic.

02:00And she's never once offered me a Vegemite sandwich.

02:04I can.

02:08What's a role you regret turning down?

02:13I don't know if I have a role I necessarily regret turning down.

02:15Honestly, I haven't turned down that many roles in my life.

02:18I feel like they're all coming my way.

02:20I don't have one of those stories where it's like,

02:21oh, I could have been Star-Lord in Marvel.

02:24Like, nope, don't have any of those.

02:26I'm often the person they come to when someone else turns it down.

02:29That's who you want to be.

02:31I want to thank all the incredible actresses who passed on their pass.

02:35And I have stepped in.

02:36So, we'll be here all day if I feel like I'm going to go down that road.

02:44Of all the characters in play, whose style resembles your own the most?

02:48You know what, Sylvia?

02:49It's not that different from what I wear.

02:51It's just more put together, but definitely my own style.

02:54You dress a little cooler than Sylvia, I would say, in real life.

02:57If I do, I think you got it.

02:58Because I'll see you come to set in your real clothes.

03:03Rachel Rose's films is your favorite.

03:30I mean, I remember when I first saw Seth in Knocked Up.

03:33I loved it and him and was very struck by him on screen and thought, oh, my God, who the hell is that guy?

03:38He's hysterical.

03:39And then everybody knew who he was.

03:42I love The Fablemans.

03:43Very sweet.

03:44And I love seeing Seth in a really different genre.

04:10I don't think an actor I've worked with has really given me, like, advice necessarily.

04:16And if it is, it hasn't necessarily resonated with me.

04:19And it's not like I've had a career where I'm working with these, like, legendary actors who are, like, imparting their wisdom on me.

04:29What is one line that fans spoke to you the most?

04:32People just want to smoke weed with me.

04:34It's not a specific line of dialogue.

04:36People aren't coming up with a specific thing.

04:37And I kind of thank God I've never had, like, a thing.

04:40Like, because I have a lot of friends who have had that thing that everyone says to them.

04:43I'd probably be more successful if I did have, like, a catchphrase.

04:46Now we're quickly going to do a rapid round section called platonic or not.

04:52First up is taking a trip to Paris.

04:55Like, with a friend?

04:56It can be platonic.

04:57I've taken trips to Paris with platonic friends.

05:00So I'm proof positive that it's possible.

05:08I've done it, for sure, with plenty of platonic friends.

05:51Me and my friend Evan are always doing press together, and we have a history of very much mismatching our levels of dress.

05:58And so, I try to be on the same page, for sure.

06:05I got someone on the payroll telling me if my outfit's good or not.

06:36I wanted to just really capture the colors of the suit today, the forest green.

06:41I feel like I could have been a little bolder with my style, but, you know, I wanted to get the signature look.

06:48I think, you know, Seth has a very signature silhouette.

06:53I think the palette is nice.

06:55I like the color of the hair and the beard.

06:57I think it's really nice.

06:58I think you'd think, like, a dumb nine-year-old painted this if you saw it at your friend's house.

07:07I was sort of looking at you from the side, so it's like a profile.
